I'm definitely a fan of these lockless rooms! By reading the clues/hints you "unlock" items or "secrets" to perform the next magic trick. The premise is to find the magician's notebook and the secret behind his disappearance. It was just my sister and me. Although we didn't escape, we truly enjoyed the room and it was so much fun performing (solving) the magic tricks. It's truly an interactive room and was cohesive, creative and well done. Gant, was our game master was great and more than happy to explain what our remaining tricks were to reveal. Looking back, my sister and I had a few oversights which ate our time and we would have otherwise been able to complete the room. By the time I started to figured out part of the few last magic tricks our time ended. The escape room owner, traveled to Greece and did a lockless room abroad which inspired him to devise this room himself ,which he did an excellent job! You get unlimited hints! When we left someone was having a birthday party which they set up a small table in the lobby area. I'm not sure what that entails, although the space is small for that, I think it's a fun idea! The owner also owns Plix Plex arcade across the street which are games of 16 physical challenges. It isn't open yet, but will be soon.

It's been years since we have been able to a new local escape room it seems. Because a lot of the…read morelocal escape rooms haven't updated their rooms. My sister had mentioned seeing a new escape room in Norfolk. But we weren't sure if it was good or quality worthy so we didn't try it. Until now. Fast forward to now, when they have 3 rooms. We decided to give it a go because we saw a groupon. This place is FANTASTIC! It's also the only escape room in Norfolk. It's diagonal from the D'art center and they do have parking. On their website it indicates it's okay to park in the lot in front of the building even if it states "tenants". It's located on the top floor, entrance is to the far right of the building. You can purchase to hide ducks in the room for an additional price. They do have restrooms but you need to get the pass code from them. They have a fun little extra thing they do where they hide a tiny bronze dragon called CeeCee and you get a sticker if you find her and get to autograph the book for doing so. We did not find her! Magical Misconceptions is essentially a Harry Potter room. It was well designed and contained quality props! Spoiler alert! It's a multi-room. We thought we were all done with casting spells and then poof! Another room! We BARELY made it with 8 seconds left!! It was a fun room! Highly recommend!! We enjoyed it so much we are doing the C.U.L.T. room next which is like a horror room. Their other room is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I think it's also cute that they have a personalized border for their pics.

We did have a 30 minute wait to do the Funhouse so we decided to do the maze first. The maze wasn't very long, honestly probably five minutes or less to go through it, so we basically went back and forth through the maze numerous times to pass the time. I would give the maze a 6/10; it was decently fun, but would've been better if there was just more to it and it was longer. *they take and hold purses/bags with them behind the counter while you're in the maze; you get your purse back before you go upstairs though* As for the Selfie/Funhouse, I definitely loved the concepts/themes in the different rooms and the trippy aspects in each room. I recall there were only 4 rooms and a few decorated/themed walk through halls. I would give it an 8/10; I thought it was pretty cool. Definitely felt like it could've used a few more rooms/interactive areas. For what they provided though, I would say it was a pretty decent experience. You definitely go through the entire thing in about 15-20 minutes, so just like the maze, not very long; really just in and out. After doing it once, I don't see myself going back again unless they were to add some new aspects to the place. My overall rate of experience : 7/10

The cost was per lane vs per person and you pay at the counter in the bowling area. If you're in the military/a vet let them know as you get a DISCOUNT. Since I didn't go in with intentions to bowl I didn't bring any, but was able to get a free pair since my cousins benefit applied to everyone in the party. The socks are actually cute (to me). It was very busy on a Friday evening and the crowd seemed to be teens and adults. Very few small kids. The servers come to the lanes to take orders, and the tablet at the bowling lane has a button to press for their help. Since it was taking long, we just ordered drinks from the bar nearby. The food, ordered later was simple, but good. -Sunset strawberry sangria is good, but could use more strawberry flavor. - Mozzarella sticks are no different then what you'd get at the grocery store and for the price the amount given isn't enough. - Wings, got a double order, 1/2 sweet chili, 1/2 garlic parmesan. I've often seen the latter on menus and steered clear because it didn't sound appealing. However, since it was ordered (for the group) I figured I'd give it a try. I am basing my review on the activities that me and my daughter experienced. There is lots of parking at the event and it is free.. which is great to see.... Walking in, we were shocked at how expensive everything was. You are literally spending $50+ per hour per person. We did the mini golf. The course was very small. 18 holes in the dark with glow in the dark balls. It started out great but when we reached around hole 6 a group of 12-15 teenagers came in and started speed running through the course.. they were hitting their balls all over the place. My daughter and I had to step aside for and let them speed their way through. After that there were a couple of older kids that were hitting their balls very hard and they were flying off the course.. one of those balls almost hit my daughter in the head.. they really need some supervision in the mini golf room. Otherwise somebody is going g to get seriously injured... Next we want to the arcade section. My daughter loved the VR experience items. But at $5+ dollars for 5 mins.... It adds up really fast. They have a little store where you can get prizes in exchange for tickets. But the big problem is that there are very few machines that actually give you tickets when you play them. There were a couple of claw machines that gave you a chance to win 100'or so tickets. But when you need thousands of tickets to buy anything.. you are literally spending a lot of money. Most of the machines were claw based machines where you could win a prize or the coin push machines which are hard to win anything out of. Overall, I was not a big fan of Apex. It is very expensive for what you get.. you can easily spend over $100 per hour in this place to try all the different things. Unless you have a big promo or coupon that gives you a huge discount.... It is not worth the money. The other big issue is that there is very little supervision of all the kids running around. Most of the staff look like they are high school students working a summer job. Like I mentioned earlier, my daughter almost getting hit in the head with a golf ball is unacceptable!!! Highly don't recommend coming here unless you can get a huge discount.

The artist who did all the murals did a phenomenal job! Putting on the 3D glasses really threw me off! Some of the holes are tricky, deceiving so scope it out first before thinking you know where the hole is. While this location isn't huge, they have a party room with 3 - 4 good sized tables and one restroom. The music that was playing was spot on which added to the fun! While they made good use of the space the first couple holes it gets rather tight or congested easily. We had 6 people in our group and it started to get a bit backed up. I can only imagine when it gets busy. There was actually a group of 2 teenagers or young adults that we let them play ahead of us because it would have been excruciatingly painful for them to wait for us. I didn't realize until the end that on the score card that they had a little scavenger hunt to look for certain items while you play. The parking lot is small. I definitely would recommend this location but if you have large groups or if it gets busy it can get tight in there. For those interested, they do sell little neon doo-dads at the check in counter.

The reward zone was lacking some cool prizes so if you're looking to redeem something cool, you'll be severely disappointed. They have 4 food stalls and they had burgers, pizzas, nachos, sandwiches, boba, wings, etc. They even had adult beverages too! Prices were pretty standard. I was just excited that they had nachos :-) They also have a small jungle gym area - I think mainly for kids between the ages of 4 and 12 which was a nice touch. As far as the skating rink, it's not small by any means but it's not huge either. I was able to skate without having to dodge too many people. I am sure towards the evening hours it can get a bit crazy! I would love for them to take song requests which I think would be fun. Prices for the skate rentals was very affordable especially since it wasn't time constricted. Something was off about the vibe of this place for me - it almost seemed like it wasn't "popping" to me. Although the owner was closing up after a birthday party, he still took the time to show me around and talk to me about his establishment. He takes so much pride in this place, as it is kept up beautifully. I finally got around to bringing my kids here to play, and they had so much fun. They switch the layout around often so the kids can find new ways to play and have fun. There is an area for parents to sit down while you let your kids get their energies out. They also close late in the summer, which is fantastic.

Rock walls, ropes, colorful foam blocks, everything you need to create the perfect fitness gym for kids! The owners are a husband and wife team and are very friendly. The business is new and they were offering the free classes as a way to get their name out there. The owner is really passionate about teaching the kids fitness and even does a kid run every Saturday at a local park. He had my 3 year old doing pull-ups, burpees, and squats! He explained each exercise to the kids and even told them why the exercise was important. They finished off the class by completing an obstacle course. My daughter loved every minute of her class and definitely slept well! She is already asking when she can go back to the "Baby Ninja" class! I would recommend purchasing the grip socks they sell for 1.00. They allow regular socks or barefoot but the kids with the grip socks were able to move through the course more easily than those in regular socks or barefoot. Thank you for creating a space to teach our youth the importance of fitness. We will definitely be back!
