Horrible, dishonest people had my event on May 5, 2019, for my brother's PROPOSAL, very disorganized and captain wife "LISA" refused to let him dock the boat where we wanted in the water until we paid the remaining balance !!!! Once everyone got off the boat I asked for a receipt and he stated: "he forgot his book at him but will give me an invoice on Monday". As Monday rolled around he emailed me following details "Amount: ***" thanks for having your event on his boat. I told him this is not a receipt as it has no information its simply an email with my amount and he replied saying this is the best HE COULD DO AND STOPPED PICKING UP MY PHONE!!!! he stated he cannot provide HST # for his company (even though I paid HST) BECAUSE HE DOES NOT DO IT FOR SMALL PEOPLE AND tried to change the topic by asking "did you have fun" that's all that matters money shouldn't matter. LASTLY, he had said I could have my own coke bottles on the boat and when we were in the boat I noticed they were missing, this was because the staff had taken my bottles and put them behind the bar and when I told them I already spoke to the captain, captain wife wanted to clarify and when she asked him infront of me he denied that HE HAD SAID THAT TO ME! VERY VERY VERY STRESSFUL !!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND, I rather paid extra for more professional service !!!! read more

I will not be using this company again! They messed up on our booking, the main lady was very rude and inhospitable, the music was a radio station (yet they boasted that they would have great music), dinner was 1.5 hours late and served at 9 vs 7:30pm. All guests were anxious and hungry. Due to the delay in dinner we never got an opportunity to really enjoy any dancing as the while night we were waiting on food. We were not given any updates on that situation and even went back to the dock to the confusion of all guests to pick up the late dinner. A little courteous update would have been appreciated. I was pressed to give a tip upfront!! Rude! Tips are to be earned, and they were very undeserving of a generous tip. The boat was dirty from top to bottom and the food was mediocre. Overall I would give it a 2/10 and will not be recommending this company to anyone. read more

The food was pretty tasty. The chicken wasn't dry and was well seasoned. The roast potatoes were also well cooked, not too hard or soft and the Cesar salad was adequately crunchy and well tossed with dressing. We had a 40 person fairwell party hosted on the island princess, there was a hiccup in the beginning of the event, which was that we had ordered 35 steaks and 5 chicken breastfeeding dinners, but the caterer for the boat had mixed up the order and delivered 35 chicken breasts and 5 steaks instead, we were of course very annoyed by this mistake, however the captain explained to us that this was an error made by the caterer, and that he would make it right by giving us free drinks aboard the cruise, this had definitely helped to smooth the water over with our group regarding the entrée mistakes, and overall the whole dining experience aboard a cruise was quite pleasant, the steak was considerably larger then the one piece chicken breasts that arrived as our entrée for the evening, so definitely order the steak dinner next time, the upper deck should be quite pleasant during warmer summer months, during our cruise it was rather chilly. read more

Reserved a dinner cruise for 30 people for my sisters surprise 30th birthday. No food was provided, his staff informed us it was not on the boat. We never set sail and when we asked to see the food he got insulted. He evertually admitted there was no food on the boat. My party demanded a refund and we left. We never received food and never set sail. My party had to stand on the dock in the rain for over an hour trying to find another location to accommodate our party. We could not find a restraunt downtown and had to drive back to scarborough. My sisters birthday was ruined. The next day my credit card was charged $250.00. I contacted the island princess and asked why I was being charged for their mistake. Captain Bob apologized and promised to refund my money. I waited a week and called again, again he promised to refund it. I waited several more weeks and sent an email. He did not respond. I was not going to complain or write any reviews but this is fraud. I have 30 guests, one of which was a cop, who are witness to the fact that no services were rendered. Very unprofessional. The company runs under 2 names...Toronto Boat Cruises and Toronto Dinner Cruises I bought tickets for a cruise off of a GroupOn/DealFind advertisement....probably the least productive way to spend money. Their site states the following "features": "A fully equipped on board kitchen ensures that the food is always fresh and flavourful" - Dry chicken and what tasted like canned pasta and for dessert....1 chocolate chip cookie, 1 two-bite brownie and 1 thawed cream puff. "Panoramic windows on the upper deck" - Flimsy plastic window covers were hanging off the windows, some attached and some dangling...but always flapping in the wind. "Beautifully appointed washrooms" - I don't think this even needs a comment "Large fully equipped LCBO licensed bar on the upper deck " - a counter with about 6 bottles of alcohol and some beer "Professional sound system " - 2 speakers on the floor The boat was dirty and run down and the service was present....by that I mean, nothing out of the ordinary, there was a bartender and two individuals dishing out the below cafeteria grade food. The cruise was approx 3 hrs long but after the first hour I was contemplating jumping overboard to test out my swimming skills back to the harbour. On top of the cost of each ticket....the cruise company charged an additional $11.00 for HST and "other fees" and parking was an outrageous $30.00. If you're thinking about buying tickets to either of these cruise companies....I would think again....and if you still feel positive about it....I would take a night to sleep on it. read more

Island Princess - Bob the Captain. Wasted time chatting to the group about nothing. His servers were terrible and extremely rude. They charged $43 per person and it was supposed to be halal but even though I emailed him the menu a week prior, he was calling me the night before to ask what he was supposed to serve. So chances are high it was not even halal. Even though we paid $43 per person, they only made available one piece of bread per person. They didn't tell anyone this so people took more than one piece and so a fair number of people did not get any bread. They also made a huge deal about keeping your cup and were rude to people who did not have theirs. You would think they could spring for another cup with $43 per person given to them! Not the greatest four hours of my life. We weren't expecting much to begin with, but we were still disappointed. Prior to going into the boat, they had to search our bags to make sure there wasn't any liquids (including water) brought into the boat. Then, they were charging us 6 dollars for warm beer and 3 dollars for warm bottle water on the boat. urg. The captain was the worst. We had to buy the drink tickets off him. First of all, we had to wait for him for 5 minutes while he was talking on the phone, once he got off the phone, he told us he needed exact change for the drink tickets (even though he had a whole case full of change!) When we told him we didn't have change, he said he would charge us five dollars for water instead of thee dollars just because we didn't have exact change. does anyone else see anything wrong with this? read more

There are no words to describe how disappointing this "boat cruise" was. Before coming I called the place to inform them that I'm a vegan and the captain told me "it is way too late for that" and laughed. Once we arrived, we were given a speech from the captain in which he threatened to start all over again if anyone was not paying attention. Our bags were searched before boarding to make sure we weren't carrying any liquids. The woman in charge of seating and food told my group that she had a very private place for us to sit..once we arrived the 3 tiny wobbly tables were placed separately for our group of 7. She actually seemed surprised when we asked her if we could move the tables so that we could all sit together. Also, private?? The captain's booth was directly in front of our table. I would say we had the least private spot on the boat. Although this is partially my fault, I managed to fall down the stairs on my way to the bathroom, but in my defense the stairs are extremely small and unsafe. we also discovered that you can't flush the toilet in the bathroom! The cutlery was plastic and the food was served cafeteria style with all the food separated in disposable containers. I had to ask what was in the pasta to make sure that it worked with my diet (aka vegan, made that very clear to the server) and she asked me HOW allergic I was to dairy. The food was terrible and the chicken and steak were extremely dry according to my friends (although you could tell from how it looked too). The price for this wonderful experience is 50.00, not including any drinks, water too. During dessert, a friend of mine asked what the desserts were and the woman said "Don't ask me, I didn't make them." Um neither do waiters at your average restaurant, but they know what they're serving! I must say though, the most unpleasant thing about this place was the captain. The only positive thing was the view and the fact that I could post this review for others so you don't experience what I did! All in all, the place doesn't even compare to the name "Island Princess". read more

I booked a dinner & dancing cruise with the Island Princess company for a bachelorette party which was supposed to happen last night. Booking was not a problem, but everything from then on was! I had a very hard time getting ahold of "captain" Bob to find out additional info and to let him know about our menu choices, and he called me back twice to ask for this AFTER I finally had. I should have known then that this trip was doomed. Our party arrived at 6:30, well prepared to get underway for 7pm. When we arrived, there were several boats along the pier in the process of loading....except ours. "Captain" Bob showed up late (after 7) demanding money up front before literally disappearing for over 15 minutes. While we continued to wait, we questioned two of his crew members told us another boat was on its way to get us, as there was a problem with the one we were supposed to go on (called Escape To). After another 35 minutes, the "captain" was back, this time to tell us that the boat that was supposed to come was not on its way as it's captain was nowhere to be found. He offered to give us the dinner we had paid for on the broken, docked boat, and said that perhaps the other one would show up at some point. He said he would also give us certificates for a cruise another time. Due to the complete disorganization and total lack of remorse on the part of him and his staff, my group decided we were better off taking our money and running. I was the only person allowed on the boat when getting my money back, and it was then that I smelled the alcohol on him. Not sure if there was really a problem with the boat, or if it was just the captain's drunken state that prevented us from leaving. Thanks to an awesome group of girls, the bachelorette was saved from disaster, but none of us would ever recommend this cruise line! read more

Where do I begin??? I contacted Captain Bob and negotiated the price for the boat cruise on the "Escape TO yacht". The charge was $29.95 (with taxes and other fees, it comes to $38) for 3 hours including lunch. I originally reserved the cruise for 30 people. When I contacted him to increase our numbers to 60 people, he agreed not to charge for drinks and demanded we pay in cash. When we got there the boat was not ready and they were still cleaning. We were supposed to board at 1:15pm and the captain arrived at 1:35pm, so we boarded at 2:00 instead. We were a group of 55 people waiting for the Captain in the hot sun. Our deal was for 60 people and we had 5 people no show, he was very rude and he refused to leave the port and demanded extra money charged for the 5 people before taking off for the afternoon. Once that fee was paid I asked for the free soft drinks per his agreement - he changed the deal again and said you have to pay for the drinks. He made everyone throw out the water bottles they brought before boarding. He charged $3 for soft drinks and $3 for a regular sized water bottle. If you asked for a soft drink, they would pour it in a cup and sell it for $3, with no re-fill !!! WHAT A RIP-OFF! In addition, we ended up touring for only 2.5 hours instead of 3. They do not know how to deal with people and their customer service is an absolute disaster! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! He's not honest, very rude, and has extremely poor customer service. Please do yourself a favour and don't make the same mistake I did. I will NEVER use this guy again. BEWARE, don't be fooled by his other boat too... Island Princess and Escape TO, are both his boats and will rip you off in either one because his attitude and interpersonal skills are garbage. read more

Well it was a nice ride seeing the Islands and seeing the city view/sky line of Toronto but that is all I can say was good about this enterainment cruise. The food was very skimpy, the drinks (beer) warm for $6 a piece from a can and the music really bad! One ladies wash room, very small no lock on the door and then got plugged and had to use the mens..yew! One mens, didn't go there but again yew! The rugs old and curling up where many were catching themselves from tripping. But we did choose the cheapest priced cruise and I guess this is what you get...VERY LITTLE! We left late too, very unorganized. The staff was friendly, except the woman who was serving the foods and giving out paper towel for napkins...only 2 desserts (cut very small from store bought packed) or you get TOLD not to take more. We will do our research next time and read reviews too. I am sure this business does NOT get repeat business! Too bad, add some more food (like salads and vegetables and not stale bread and maybe a bit more MEAT with the meat) and lower the drinks slightly to like $4 and have them cold with a bit more variety (oh yeah only 3 kinds of beer and only 4 kinds of liquior with pop or cranberry is what they have) and actually have a better surround sound updated music system for top floor AND bottom (as the bottom has ZERO music) and this place could actually be a gold mine! read more
