FYI if you are thinking of doing the Helter Skelter escape room you get seperated into two different rooms where you can see each other not so much as hear. One of you also gets handcuffed. It is a scary game where there is an actual person dressed up and walks around and taunts you as I've heard. But on to the point. It was a really good looking game very scary. Anyways. Because our opponent was too scared to continue they let us go to the Jungle games escape room instead. Which was not scary at all it was really based on Jumanji. It was really fun well themed and we enjoyed it a lot. We escaped in about 9 minutes. Thank you Checkmate escape rooms for being so nice and kind we are looking forward to our next escape room there

If you're in Sarasota area and looking for a fun, interactive experience, I highly recommend trying out an escape room - you won't regret it. When we asked Luke, who was our front desk person about it he said sometimes they are late giving the hints, because they are overseeing multiple rooms, which is why the hint that they gave was no longer helpful. Luke, however, was fantastic so shout out to him. We did the Scooby Doo escape room and overall it was pretty great. I really like how they have little signs that show when something isn't part of the game, so you don't spend unnecessary time trying to break into something that you're not supposed to. Overall, I thought all the clues worked well together and they were all different enough to keep things really interesting. We thought we were doing really well when we got into the third room with 30 minutes to spare, but that one was particularly difficult for us. The room is well themed and clean. We started right on time. Pro tip that you can get your 90 minutes validated here and if you go shopping at sprouts they validate on top of that so you can save $10 total in parking. However, I think they don't stack 90 minutes on 90 minutes, they only stack 60 minutes on 90 minutes so you can get a total of 2 1/2 hours of free parking. I do enjoy the games here so we will probably be back.

My only gripe is the website stated, "An Evening in Paris...Treat your special Sweetheart to a romantic "Evening in Paris". (http://www.escapecountdown.com/6525-s-tamiami-trail-sarasota-fl-34231/) ----- this page is #2 in the Google search for "Sarasota Escape Room". When I inquired about this, the young woman said, "Oh, does it still say that? That was only for Valentine's Day. We keep telling our web guy to take it down but he doesn't." Looking at the site again, it appears that description is on a page that is no longer included on the main site, but is still an active page showing up in searches. So, just delete the page? Regardless, we came in with expectations that were not met. Overall, it was fun but as this and other reviews indicate, there are some management/customer service issues that need to be ironed out to provide a flawless experience.

What an awesome experience!…read more This was my first escape room, and Escape Bradenton has officially gotten me hooked. We attended for a birthday as a group and took advantage of a Groupon so as to limit players to the 5 of us. We attempted "Crucifixus" - wow! I'm being cautious not to give any spoilers here, but this room was incredibly challenging and required your wits as well as your courage. Various stages tested our resolve, and each player was forced to bring something to the table at critical points for us to be successful. Open communication and teamwork paid off - we made it out in 50 minutes and in time for a successful escape! I'm excited to try their other rooms soon. This is a bit pricey per person for an hour of entertainment, but when you look at what goes into each puzzle room you can understand the price point. A savvy shopper will drive cost down with coupon / Groupon offers as well.
