There was the cutest little service dog in training at the receptionist window and that alone is a reason to give this place five stars! Kidding (sort of) but the receptionist, who was also our Game Master was in the process of training a service dog which objectively makes her an awesome person! But this review isn't about the dog, so onward.... ~Facility~ Location: B Cleanliness:A Spaciousness:B+ Finding the location at night is a bit daunting because its a little store front type place, partly covered by tress. It just feels not safe at first, not because its located in a bad area, but because its so dark and hard to see. I would suggest a few more lights around the building and parking lot. Once you get inside its perfectly fine. The waiting area if a bit small so it might be problematic for large groups but it was only two of us so it wasn't a problem. I'm VERY pick about restrooms. If I'm going to be locked in a room for an hour, I'm going to pee first and if its gross I'm going to be mad. I'm happy to report the bathroom was SPOTLESS! ~The Game~ Game Master: A+ The Room (Escape from Alcatraz): A Our game master other than being an awesome dog handler was just awesome in general! Unlike some other Escape rooms we've been to, her clues were very in touched with what we needed and were we were at in the game. I don't want to give too much away about the room, but it was very tricky for just two people. We were one puzzle away from escaping when we ran out of time and she gave us one last clue and let us take the extra two minutes to escape. She was great and the game was a lot of funny. ~Overall Experience/Value~ I gave this place five stars because its roughly the same price as other Escape games on Long Island but we had a much better time. That's not to say the other escape rooms on Long Island aren't good, but this just had a little something extra. I will 100% come back to try the other rooms. read more

After a long drive we got there and were pleasantly surprised by the professional hospitality and genuine kindness of our host, Lauren. This was a last minute date night decision and the first time either of us did an escape room. It was definitely more exciting than I thought it would be and more challenging as well. Here are my thoughts: Pros: -there were enough puzzles to keep us interested and different levels of difficulty. some were so hard that we needed clues from the front desk! -I really liked the physical pieces and 2-room aspect. A few of the puzzle solutions actually made me gasp! -it truly turned out to be a date night because no one else signed up in our slot! -they gave us maybe 3 extra minutes and we did escape, which is impressive for just 2 people, right? -free parking Cons: -pricey! $34 per person and you only get an hour of entertainment -I would suggest adding maybe 2 more puzzles and an extra 30 minutes to the clock just to make it more worth it -the location we chose only had 2 themes and they were not our top 2 choices, lol, so we were limited -maybe 3 rooms would have been cooler! -there wasn't a food or drink place in the same mini shopping strip so you just had to wait in your car or the tiny front desk area if you came early read more

The room was not set up correctly which caused us a lot of time. The girl did not give us extra time for it and ended our time as soon as the timer went up. For $60 a person i would expect the room to be set up correctly and for us to have extra time for it. Do not recommend this place read more

This is such a fun time. Jamie was so great, helpful and patient. She explained the rules to us really well (especially since it was our first time) unfortunately we were running a little late do they had to start before we got there which is completely understandable but it was a great time. We were actually about to leave but she reminded us to take a group photo which was the point of the night to celebrate my friends birthday. We will be back. She event suggested a room for us. This was my family's 7th game room. We do them all over. So much fun. The props were interesting and intriguing. The game set up was challenging enough that we needed all three clues but solvable. We brought a big enough group to reserve both rooms and split up into middle school and high school. The middle schoolers escaped the killer's Cabin In The Woods with five minutes left, and the high schoolers remained captive at Alcatraz. Last minute decision since we saw the location on portion rd near an amazing pupusa restaurant. Called twice and no answer. Got a call back 15 min later from a nice guy who worked with me on times and answered questions about difficulty and my best chances on getting our own room to ourselves. He said he would text me the address but I didnt get a text however it seems this man might be handling business on his personal cell phone so I respect it might be his day off and he's still holding down the fort. The location in yaphank was easy to find in a shopping center next to a gun range. The entrance is small and cute. The front desk lady was our game master and she directed us through walkie talkie in Cabin in the woods. She was super helpful with clues and you are offered more if you check in on facebook. She was very gracious with them and I felt super supported and challenged throughout the entire game. She was very responsive. We got it done with like 8 seconds to spare which was rewarding. They take pics in the room itself which is cool. I really enjoyed this. Since I checked in the day of and am writing a review I will be afforded 40% off next time I attend which is awesome. I must mention that the guy who helped me book the room over the phone gave me a discount which he def didnt have to do. I give 4 stars for customer service. 5 stars for difficulty and enjoyment of the puzzles themselves. Loss of 1 star for the rooms being easy to hear through. If another large group had been doing the puzzle next to us it might have been distracting. There were some lights that didnt glow when a button was pushed but that's very minor however for first time attendees it might throw them off. Parking was super easy to find. I will def return when I come to visit my family in long island. read more

If you have played escape games so far, you will appreciate the lack of clunky locks, lots of electro magnets and sensor tricks here. My friends and I live all over: NYC, Queens, Pennsylvania and we traveled here after the suggestion of Zack from Ronkonkoma Escape Games. Amanda was our game master and she was welcoming and shared other Escape locations we could try out closer to home. We made it out with 7 minutes left out of Alcatraz (the cage was our favorite part) and love the set up inside and out. We were stumped several times, but after receiving the hints, it seemed so simple and we were just over thinking it. The only issue was driving there since the address took us a weird direction, so if anyone is driving, I recommend using Google and going to 59 Yaphank Ave, even though the website says 58 Yaphank. read more

We booked a room for that night and when we arrived there the guy at the counter said we booked it for Tuesday when on our phone it said that night. The guy at the counter was very nice and said to call to get a refund however when we called the next day, the lady on the phone said she can't give us a refund, only a credit to that place for another time. This is very inconvenient for us since none of us are home and are all from different states so we will never be able to go together. Normally this is not a big deal but the guy at the counter said we were the fifth group of people that this situation has happened to that exact night. I find this ridiculous especially that we can't get a refund. 0/10 recommend unless you want to get your money taken. read more

Time flies. It was super fun. They give you 3 hints. We didn't make it but we were close. They explained what she should have done next to solve the puzzle when time was up. The employee was super nice and helpful. It's great to do this on a rainy day. The cabin in the woods was fun. When your doing these puzzles you have to think outside the box. read more

This was so much fun. My husband and I just found this place and decided to try it for the first time. We did the Alcatraz escape and it was amazing. All of the employees were so fun and helpful. We didn't make it out in time but they let us continue after a few hints. We did manage to make it out about 5 mins late. Overall this was an amazing time and we will definitely go back! read more

This was our first escape room experience and it was definitely entertaining. The puzzles were clever and plentiful. The mechanical puzzles were even cooler. We did the Cabin in the woods. The staff was very helpful (especially Zack) and the effects were cool. The only issue was that one of the props did not work, which sort of threw everything off. We had the puzzle figured out 20 minutes in, but it wouldn't open. As a result, we couldn't complete the last section, but the staff did right by us and invited us back for another game on them. We assume it was a fluke and will definitely be back! read more

Just spent the day trying to escape Alcatraz with 5 great women. We didn't escape but apparently only 16% do and we did better than most. Bring your A game and have your wits about u. Think outside the box and promise you will have a great time. Our host Matt was excellent at helping us its clues. We will be back soon to try another room. Did out first "Escape Room" at Escape Room Sixty last night... had no expectation whatsoever. Met by Jamie who was our "escape master"...:). She was great ...explained everything to us and we jumped right in! 7 of us in the "Cabin in the Woods"...ages 10 - lets say 40 something. :). Everyone was able to chip in and get us out ! Best birthday ever! I came with a bunch of friends and we had a really great time. The puzzles are unique and require some serious thinking, but they're not impossible! Been to a few of these, and their quality was pretty low. The clues were not clever, there were mechanical problems which caused delays, the hints were blatantly obvious. For the price paid, i expected much, much better. With 32 minutes left, my group at the end was collectively left thinking "That's it?" Maybe i'm spoiled by experiences in NYC, but this was far below mark for the value. At half the price they charged, it would be a 4 star experience for a fun night out with friends or family. At the going rate, go see a movie or visit the bowling alley. Better yet, even Dave and Buster's offers more entertainment for your dollar. read more

I was SO excited to finally go to this for a kick off to a friends bachalorette party! Well the day came and I ended up with an emergency and was unable to make it. I was in a group of 6 so the other 5 people still attended. At the end of their game they were still charged for 6 spots, even after them explaining to the employees and a phone call from me explaining the problem to a manager again they said they still had to charge for six spaces because they could've put a random player in with them. This was the kick off of a bachelorette party so they wouldn't have wanted a random person playing with them anyway. Nothing about their expiericne was altered aside from they had one less person to help play which my friends were fine with. The lady at the desk along with the manager I spoke to could not care less about the situation and claimed there was nothing they could do. So not only did I miss out but I still had to pay the $36 to not attend and now will never even bother going again. read more
