The last gallery has the Last Dance restaurant & exhibit about the AID's crisis in the 1980's & the cruising scene around the corner. We paid $15 per person for admission to all four art buildings. We could've spent a week here but prioritize Norweigan art that we can't see at home. A lot of construction wowed taking place in front of each museum building and they actually looked like they were closed. I was surprised at how empty the museum galleries were. I appreciate the individual lockers to hang my bag and jacket while exploring the exhibits.

The staff is awesome. They host the Bergen International Film Festival which is honestly superb. The concession stand selection is quite awesome...despite allowing one to take their own food into the theater (big WIN in my book compared to American cinemas). All in all...going to the movies in Norway is quite a great experience. Sure, theaters are smaller, but so is the country. :) Definitely recommend the Bergen Kino.

I wouldn't come back here but they had American type food here and not Norwegian. Not than many places to eat in the shopping side of Bergen unless you want a coffee and a bread item. Also, go order at the bar and they will bring the food to you.

There's a small surge of people during intermission and then it gets crowded and lively after a show lets out. The beer/wine selection is sufficient for essentially a theatre bar and it's a great place to have a group of friends meet up. The library and balcony provide a slightly more intimate setting than the main room, but it's generally good for conversation as there isn't music playing loudly or a band to overpower conversation. A bonus moment happened in which we also shared a beer with one of Norway's most famous actors (as declared by our friends). Apparently it's a performer's chill spot for a nightcap.

The guided tour which started here was fantastic! The museum itself was excellent as well…read more We purchased our tour tickets about 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. We milled around the lobby/gift shop while we waited for the tour to start. We took one of the two English language tours offered. The group ended up being rather large, totaling near 20 people. Our tour guide was excellent at speaking to the size of the group, her command of English was excellent, and she really knew her facts. The tour started in the Bryggen museum, where she spent some time explaining the building methods on the wharf and the constant risk of fires in the area. The museum included some original building foundations as well as the original parts of the wharf, it has since been extended. The tour then went through parts of the wharf and finished in the Hanseatic Museum (also a worthy stop). If you are unfamiliar or a bit rusty with the details of the Hanseatic Trading League, this museum and tour are a wonderful refresher course. Once the tour was over, if you kept wearing the tour sticker, you could go back and revisit the museums for the remainder of the day (which makes the tour an excellent value as it included the admission). We wandered upstairs, when it was much less crowded to look over both the permanent and temporary exhibits. We left feeling better informed about how life was during the Hanseatic era. I would highly encourage visiting this museum.

The ice sculptures and creativity is just stunning. Everything's made of ice and is a work of art. I definitely recommend dressing warmly because the coat and gloves just aren't enough. It's freezing! Your body does adapt after some time but it's a lot more comfortable if you come prepared. The seats are also made of ice but are covered in furs to make you a little more comfortable. There are little seating sections, separated by walls, giving you a bit of privacy with your party. The lights are dimmed and the ice is lit up in beautiful colors. It's truly an experience. The bartender pops in and out, so that he doesn't freeze to death, so be patient. This was definitely a one of a kind experience. There are a few packages to choose from so you can tailor the experience to you and your desires.

The bartender was really cool and hung out with us for a bit as it was really slow. There was a party of 3 when we first entered, but ended up being the only ones in there by the end. They had a pretty good drink menu, however the drinks were EXTREMELY weak. To the point where I didn't taste any alcohol and didn't receive any buzz. It was like drinking kool-aid. If you and your friends are looking for a very fun and moderately over-inebriated Saturday night after mitternacht... head on down to the waterfront and go to the highest point.
