We did the Tomb room and the staff was great, the decor was great and the layout of the Escape room was awesome! I think this is Anchorage's newest room. They've only been open for a month. There were a few glitches but they worked it out and it didn't impact our time. Very well thought out theme. Honestly a good time, however the guy at the front desk was really rude before during and after our room, which killed the fun a lot more than we would've liked Super condescending attitude, and made it seem like we were dumb for asking questions before it started. We were having a good time in there but definitely rattled when he came in and insulted us in the middle for touching things, and we didn't solve it and said every hint we didn't get was "simple and easy we just didn't get it" ...wish they had someone nicer because he was an asshole and made my friend feel bad on her birthday. So we were a group of 5, age range 15-31, some veteran to the game and some were newbies. This escape room was definitely challenging enough for us who aren't new to escape rooms, however, a bit too tricky for the newbies. I love the Egyptian theme and the interactiveness throughout the game. There were moments of suspense and light-dimming which adds to the ambiance. The only criticism I would point out was that they didn't really go over the process of the game, such as asking for clues, although they did give us chance to ask questions. Maybe because majority of us had done escape rooms before, but our newbie companions were unaware and we had to explain that to them. But, I still feel the game was worth it. I have gone to escape rooms were it was poorly made and they definitely put a lot of effort and attention to this escape room. I can't wait to see the new rooms they have coming up! Visiting friends from out of town and with the rain we decided to do an escape room and Wow! How impressive! I've personally done around 25 rooms across the country and this escape room utilized such great production and technology. The room was set up so well and I love that there were minimal combination/key lock portions. We had a group of four - two newbies and two escape room vets. We were able to escape using 2 hints and with plenty of time, but it was still super challenging and fun! We've officially converted the two newbies to escape room fans who want to do another one immediately! I would highly recommend to all levels!!! Might have to make a trip back to Anchorage just to try the Noir room when it opens! read more

The puzzles are challenging but not impenetrable and the story line is a fresh spin on classic Indiana Jones. We've done several other escape rooms and this is the best one we have ever done. The quality and details were excellent. We were especially impressed with the sound effects and lighting when certain clues were solved. The room is private so no worry about others joining your group and the pricing is for each person, so very reasonable for 3 people. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I've done 40+ escape rooms from the California Bay Area to Las Vegas to New York. My friends and I found ourselves with some free time in Anchorage and decided to try some different escape room locations while we were here and boy are we happy we came to Escape! The Tomb (as of now the only one available) was easily the best room we've done in Alaska and made it in the top 5 escape rooms Ive ever done. This room is very high in production and tech value which I tend to enjoy which in my opinion trumps your classic key and combination lock escape rooms. The lighting effects made the room very dramatic and even the entrance leading into the room was themed which really transitioned us into the alternate reality. Its hard to balance production value with puzzles, usually other escape games rely to heavily on the production and the puzzles and props are lacking but these guys did it. The Tomb had just the right amount of simple scavenging with most of your focus on the puzzles. The puzzles can be done in parallel which really kept my group of 4 entertained and busy the entire time. There is a good mix of interactive solutions, deciphering, and logic puzzles; the puzzles flowed linearly which avoided confusing sequences and backtracking which other games may do. The puzzles are the right amount of difficulty to keep the room fun if you have done escape rooms before, but if you're on your 10+ room and looking for a head scratching challenge then you might find something to be missed. If this is your first escape room, you will love this one but be disappointed with most other rooms you do after this (but you'll likely catch the escape room bug). If you've done escape rooms in the past, let this one be the new standard for other escape rooms to meet. Next time I find myself in Anchorage I'll be sure to come back. read more
