My dear friend Anthony Bourdain used to tell me about "the great bait and switch" that resturants like this do when it comes to Fish! The snapper here was much pricier than any other place in the area I have been to. Like REALLY high. Uh oh. We basically bought $200 worth of fish for 4 people. I told them that I wanted "the ENTIRE Fish." He asked if he could filet it for us " & I said, "of course, but I want the entire fish back." Very clearly. "I want the head ,the skin, everything." He repeated it back. He understood me. He smiled and brought back skimpy little portions. BAIT AND SWITCH! You're looking at basically $50 worth of fish (in this one picture). Bait and switch! I watched them do it. Beautiful setting, but the squat little man host was a real grouch, and I suspect it was because I was an American. He seemed to treat all the Americans poorly. The location is perfection, but the vibe is awful. Avoid this place. (In fact, there are better restaurants on the same beach.)

Some days were better than others, as far as cookery and service went at this establishment. But, we didn't mind, because at the end of each meal we received healthy home-cooked local cuisine, featuring the freshest seafood. O.K., the fish was a little pricey, but, the good and cheap vino balanced everything out! O.K., a few dishes were a bit too salty, but, hey nobody is perfect. The unassuming entrance to this restaurant adds to its charm, located off the Calle Pi I Rallo (a good chunk of restaurants are located on that lane). A primitive looking wood-fired oven is in the back left corner of the narrow dining room, where we could see the chef preparing a majority of the grilled/baked dishes; the service dispense bar is to the right. When everything is going well, this is a charming little place, and if it wasn't for the slight inconsistencies mentioned above, I would have given it a perfect review, 5 out of 5. Just be patient if things aren't running so smoothly!

There is nice terrace seating in a crowded alley and the inside looked comfortably rustic. The service was great and I give credit to the one waitress that took care of the entire place. The menu was read to us, so basically I think it's what comes in off the boat in the morning. Here's the thing, we loved it but I think the prices are a bit steep. There were three of us and we rallied 138€ for tomato salad (which was divine, mouth watering ripe tomatoes seasoned perfectly with salt and olive oil). Also, baby squid that were grilled perfectly, not chewy, just perfect, the seasoning was simplistic but effective. We had razor clams that once again where cooked perfectly and really stood on their own with a bit of lemon. We had white tuna, which was great but not enough to feed a child. Finally, we had monkfish, it was glorious, almost the entire fish was served chopped up. Again, cooked perfectly and seasoned simplistically. The monkfish should have been good because it was almost a third of the bill at 44€. I give 4 stars because it was an experience to try but I don't think I would do it again due to cost.

Came by this place since it was close to where I was at that time.. There seems to be so many good seafood restaurants in this town. I've been to different restaurant in Barcelona with similar style. But this place preps the dish different style and full service.. The restaurant was very clean, stylish and friendly staff. You pick the seafood, they weight it front of you and cost to cook the style you want. I ordered 2 fresh oysters. Lady helping us said it was her favorite kind/imported from France. $5 a pop so ordered 2 only . Ordered sea urchin, baby clams cooked with garlic and parsley. Also ordered the lagosta arrossos caldosos style.. I was told it was like paella but more soup style.. Only thing I was not happy with was that they had to split it and make it into 2 order which ended up costing 80 euro. But I was in a splurging mood so I decided to go for it. Also ordered fried calamari. So for starter bread.. Seems all the bread main in Spain is yummy. Ordered beer and water... First came oysters and sea urchin.. Oyster was definitely good.. Nice plump size and fresh. Sea urchin was different than one I'm used to. Smaller size but more sweet and less irony. Fried calamari was also yummy. Nice tender and the breading was just right. Baby clam also fresh clean and full of flavor. Now the main dish.. It came in a bit bowl and it reminded me of gumbo. I was bit disappointed to see that it basically had double amount of all dente rice. So one lagosta split in half double amount of rice for 80 euros. This could have been made one serving for 40 euro but that was not an option. But over all it was good. First time having lagosta (weird looking lobster). I think I would have preferred prepared it grilled. Now to dessert.. Order tiramisu and xuixo de girona (was told Girona dessert). Tiramisu in a little cup.. Omg.. I have to say this was one of the best tiramisu I've ever eaten.. Soooo melt in your mouth, I'm in heaven dessert. The other one looked like fried egg roll sprinkled with sugar. Inside was cream I'm told. That was also yummy.. Nice crispy outside and inside was warm, sweet, and bread pudding texture.. That was also yummy. Over all it was good experience and food was yummy.. I would definitely come back here again.

The appetizer of vegetable terrine was sublime. The mains, not so. Unsure about the previous hype, but the whole dorado fish that followed was tasteless. Unfortunately, several others in our tour group were also disappointed with their meals. Some even left their food and went somewhere else to find something to eat. Sadly, this was not that experience for our group. Blanc should not be recommended to tourists.
