But, we didn't mind, because at the end of each meal we received healthy home-cooked local cuisine, featuring the freshest seafood. O.K., the fish was a little pricey, but, the good and cheap vino balanced everything out! O.K., a few dishes were a bit too salty, but, hey nobody is perfect. The unassuming entrance to this restaurant adds to its charm, located off the Calle Pi I Rallo (a good chunk of restaurants are located on that lane). A primitive looking wood-fired oven is in the back left corner of the narrow dining room, where we could see the chef preparing a majority of the grilled/baked dishes; the service dispense bar is to the right. When everything is going well, this is a charming little place, and if it wasn't for the slight inconsistencies mentioned above, I would have given it a perfect review, 5 out of 5. Just be patient if things aren't running so smoothly!

My dear friend Anthony Bourdain used to tell me about "the great bait and switch" that resturants like this do when it comes to Fish! The snapper here was much pricier than any other place in the area I have been to. Like REALLY high. Uh oh. We basically bought $200 worth of fish for 4 people. I told them that I wanted "the ENTIRE Fish." He asked if he could filet it for us " & I said, "of course, but I want the entire fish back." Very clearly. "I want the head ,the skin, everything." He repeated it back. He understood me. He smiled and brought back skimpy little portions. BAIT AND SWITCH! You're looking at basically $50 worth of fish (in this one picture). Bait and switch! I watched them do it. Beautiful setting, but the squat little man host was a real grouch, and I suspect it was because I was an American. He seemed to treat all the Americans poorly. The location is perfection, but the vibe is awful. Avoid this place. (In fact, there are better restaurants on the same beach.)

They grilled it over an open fire sprinkle some excellent olive oil and some sea salt along with potatoes also grilled. They perfectly debone and present a gorgeous couple of fish fillets. A very fresh fish perfectly grilled. For an appetizer we tried a local fresh cheese served with olive tapenade and anchovies and an excellent crusty bread. Amazing! They have a very good wine list. We tried their house rose wich was cold and crisp and very well priced, overall a wonderfully place for a great meal. If you love chocolate try the profiteroles.

This could have been made one serving for 40 euro but that was not an option. But over all it was good. First time having lagosta (weird looking lobster). I think I would have preferred prepared it grilled. Now to dessert.. Order tiramisu and xuixo de girona (was told Girona dessert). Tiramisu in a little cup.. Omg.. I have to say this was one of the best tiramisu I've ever eaten.. Soooo melt in your mouth, I'm in heaven dessert. The other one looked like fried egg roll sprinkled with sugar. For a restaurant recommended to tourists on a tour, I expected much more. Visitors should be welcomed with delicious, memorable Spanish food that represents what Spain is known for.
