While my appointment went well, the standard insurance paper work for a cortisone shot (the most common intervention other than pain meds) was rejected, and no one from the office followed up. There were no follow up notes after my appointment for next steps. My primary seemed very surprised that this routine procedure was denied which makes me suspect that they didn't do the minimal paperwork required. When you call 'the office', you reach someone at the main switchboard who presumably passes on a message which may or may not be returned. In my case, it was not even though I requested that they resubmit the paperwork. Keep in mind that many many people reaching out to a pain management doctor are in excruciating, debilitating pain. When I finally went in, I was barely able to walk and had to lie down during the appointment due to the extreme pain. Currently, I'm repeatedly leaving messages at the switchboard attempting to try to get my cortisone shot months after all medical staff I met with agreed that it was necessary. If you are in an acute, debilitating situation with your pain, I'd recommend you seek someone who runs a more responsive office.

I downloaded her app., left numerous messages there and with Dulce. I heard back from Dulce but she stated numerous times Dr. Berger would not reply so eventually she stopped returning my calls. I pursued as I felt I was owed more from my initial $900 payment. Eventually Dr. Berger did send a short note stating certain injections may help and to see someone more locally. Hopefully I'm one of the only ones that got lost in the shuffle because 6 months of my physical life was put on a stand still because of Comfort Clinic

I am not local and have traveled from hours away to receive treatment from Dr. Berger and their amazing staff. I received Botox and a PRP facial with radio frequency and my skin looked and felt amazing after! I always feel valued, seen, and heard every time. I can't wait to go back! The one-on-one care and attention to detail he provides is unmatched by any other physician I have had experience with. I really felt like he listened to me and my concerns and was so comprehensive in his recommendations and treatment options. He found issues with my posture and footwear that have never been addressed by any of the countless doctors I've seen before. He didn't rush me or talk down to me as other Dr's have done. Dr. Gratz has restored my faith that there are still good health care providers out there that genuinely care about their patients and don't think of them as numbers on a screen or a piece of paper. I feel so fortunate to have found a truly caring and genuinely compassionate care provider, I can't recommend him enough. After telling my wife about him, and after her personally witnessing the inattention, lack of returned calls and delayed appts I had been receiving from my previous Dr's office, she described him as an "angel". I agree completely.

It was…read moreonly getting worse over time, despite my attempts at healing with massage, chiropractic visits and regular yoga practice. By chance, I stumbled across mentions of Alexander Technique and became curious, eventually finding a teacher in my area (Susan!) to help. After just four sessions with Susan, my pain is gone. I feel slight echos of it sometimes, and they serve as reminders to keep my newly found walking and sitting habits. Susan was able to immediately spot the problems in my walking pattern. We also discussed and adjusted the way I sit at the desk, drive, get up and down, position my head in conversation, etc... The unnecessary muscular tension caused me so much pain. In addition to being very effective as a teacher, Susan is a pleasure to interact with as a person: warm, kind, attentive and inspiring. Her Berkeley studio is also a very charming space!

My condition peaked when I was unable to drive with my right foot flexed at the accelerator pedal, and I couldn't even drive to physical therapy treatment without a "left-foot gas pedal" due to acute pain. In a matter of weeks Susan taught me how to recognize when my stance, walking and sitting were geared to trigger pain and how to begin to forestall its inevitable re-injurous compensation mechanisms. Eventually, in conjunction with my Alexander Lessons, I came to discover isometric exercises, which were less vigorous than those that physical therapy had made even worse, but that were still intense enough strengthen my extremities. With Susan's assistance I was able to do these exercises (Qigong "Three Circles" stances) with the necessary balance, alignment and the attenuation of pain under stress for strengthening . I have continued these exercises with Alexander informed body usage for two years now, with little or no pain, provided I do them for 15 minutes every day. A surprising bonus is that I unlearned many habits of movement that were handicapping the art of my dance, which is both Ballroom and Argentine Tango. I know I am on the right track, as every day movements continue becoming more energized and my dance releases more power, beauty and control. (I am 68-years old.)

However, his assistants were friendly and warm and he was as well. I think he spent a thorough job evaluating my shoulder concerns and assessing the issues I brought forth to him. It was also interesting to have a diagnostic ultrasound on my shoulder to see what was really going on in there. I felt relieved to finally have some answers to what was happening with my wonky shoulders and he did a great job of answering all of my questions and concerns. I'm not sure if he does that with every visit, but for my visit it felt relevant. I also really like how he had an assistant documenting everything in the session - I felt like this made him more present and attentive. I've been to other medical appointments where the NP or MD has to document while assessing you and I feel like they end up only being partly attuned to what is going on with you. So this was a nice touch. I honestly don't want to be back (because that would mean that I would have another injury lol) but if that were to happen again, I most definitely would return to see Dr. Honsik. FYI, he also is a swimmer and he gave me some good tips on technique so that I don't exacerbate my shoulder issue. Overall, I am SO satisfied with this visit!
