Eriks Basar is Anna Lallerstedt's new project that opened in early autumn 2018 and has already become quite popular. This was my second visit having invited three friends for what I assured them would be a great meal.
Despite booking the day before our planned visit, no table was available before 2000 h. We arrived on time and after a short wait were shown to our table. Once seated, we had quite a wait before we received our menus and there was a further delay before our orders were taken. I ordered a bottle of Sancerre. Our waitress brought it to our table already in a cooler and proceeded to remove the capsule before rushing away for a while. She returned and uncorked the bottle and gave me a taste (I still hadn't seen which wine it was).
Our food duly arrived -- and it was delicious! No fault there. We ate our starters and main courses and then asked for the dessert menus. I was presented with a wine list (the folder was identical to the dessert menu folder). Then we were forgotten while staff busily started clearing other tables and resetting them. After a long while I called a waitress and asked if she could take my order. "This isn't my table" was her imediate reply"! But she agreed then to take our order.
The maitre d' came with our desserts and I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service, and she agreed that it wasn't acceptable. She offered us drinks after our meal, but we just wanted to get our bill and leave. No compensation for our spoiled evening on the bill.
Great food won't save a meal at a restaurant if the service is slow and unprofessional. A restaurant in the Lallerstet concern ought to be better at service. read more
