Slow service but expertly crafted cocktails. They have a large menu (with pictures!) in English that clearly describe what they can put together. We did not have food here just a round of drinks to celebrate a successful trip to Stockholm! After sitting for a while, the dude sitting next to us flagged down a server and let them know that we'd like to place a drink order. When he left and another guy sat down, we saw the same thing happening and so we flagged down a server for him. My friend had something purple and with blueberries. I had a simple gin and tonic with a Swedish gin and their house tonic. The drinks were tasty and other than the wait for service, they were certainly friendly. It is a fancy place with waiters and mixologists dressed like pharmacists/doctors. With that fanciness comes a bit more expense. [Review 18086 overall - 10 in Sweden - 1608 of 2022.]

I'm taking off a star only because my cocktail was very watered down. I couldn't even finish the drink. However, my bartenders were very welcoming and attentive, I just didn't want to be the 'rude American' telling them how to make my cocktail. The ambiance was classy, luxe with beautiful dark and floral decor. I'd go again to give this place another chance.

Just loved this place. Go Here. End of Review. Okay if you need reasons let me give you the run down. It's in Gamla Stan Old Town Stockholm so you get to tramp down cobblestone streets to get here, already fun. This craft cocktail bar just has it all- killer theme and intimate atmosphere, Check! Snackas available when munchie time hits? Double Check! Legit cocktails for the pyro in all of us? Bring on the smoke. We loved the seedy dark vibe with deep apothic greens, unmarked flasks of every variety, and vamp quality candlelit chandeliers. Their cocktail list is imaginative and intriguing.. as well as extensive. We went for the smokey opium jar, Imaginarium, as well as a couple others I must have been having too much fun to jot the name down of. We also ordered some snacks and I was excited to find gluten free options on their little menu. The husband ordered a seasonal flatbread with prosciutto which he said was great and I was really happy with the beautifully presented salmon they brought out. We had a great evening hanging out here until almost closing time. Our service was perfect and everything we sampled was excellent. Definitely a not to miss on your Stockholm adventure list.

This was our 2nd cocktail stop on a Saturday night and oh boy, it was happening. But do note that they close at 1am. The menu was extensive and a bit overwhelming. I was debating between 2 drinks and the bartender suggested "Imaginarium". My friend ordered the "Pillow Case Cocktail". Wow, Imaginarium was out of this world. The drink required me to take a sip of the pearls out of the spoon with a sip of the drink. Pearls were a bit salty so the combination was very interesting. My friend's pillow case drink was champagne based. I thought it was just okay and nothing too special. Service was very attentive and accommodating here. Definitely add this place to your cocktail visits in Stockholm.

Stopped in after receiving a recommendation from someone who is actually Swedish so we knew it had to be good beyond the usual tourist traps. First of all, the ambiance! Everything in The Pharmarium makes you feel like you just stepped into something from the likes of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Deep rich color tones with dark ornate furniture; I was ready to experience some magic potions and I was not disappointed. The drinks: STELLAR. You can tell the mixologists here really know their stuff and care about what they're doing. Their cocktails are super creative and beautifully presented. Be prepared to experience cocktails and flavors you have never ever heard of. Half the fun is picking a cocktail you like the name of and finding out what it actually tastes like! We only had drinks here so I can't comment on the food, but if you're looking for a great cocktail experience in an enchanting setting this place is a must!

Best cocktail bar anywhere. I am enamored by this place to the extent that I am at a loss for words... yet I may continue to ramble. Cocktails are of a level of sophistication unparalleled. When drinks are presented they are not only described, but the thought process behind each of the ingredients is detailed giving the feeling and impression that quite a bit of thought and time went behind what is in your glass. The food... Caribou Tartare presentation was matched only by the taste. The "Artichoke" was Jerusalem artichokes hasselback, with fresh wild mushrooms that was mind blowing. My reviews are usually more descriptive.. but any attempt to describe the experience will only pale and detract from it. It was a monumental feast that must be experienced... I made reservations for today as well... yea... that good.

YES. ALL OF THE YES. Discovered Pharmarium while staying in Gamla Stan and our experience was so nice we had to do it twice. This is a dreamy little bar with a cool, cozy inside and a perfect-for-people-watching patio. We sat on the patio both times, but I could definitely see myself drinking cocktail upon cocktail inside at the bar during the colder months. Their cocktails here are little works of art. To be honest, I tried three cocktails while I was here but only remember the name of one: Mezcalero's Kiss. Very smoky and topped with flower petals--super into it. If you're into artful craft cocktails, it doesn't seem like you can go wrong here. Don't hesitate to ask your bartender for a suggestion, as everyone we had there spoke perfect english and had great recommendations. Yes, the drinks are pricey, but it's definitely work the whole experience. Don't miss Pharmarium while in Stockholm!

On my first few hours in Stockholm I wanted to do some sightseeing in old town(Gamla Stan) and grab a cocktail. The concierge at the hotel said that Pharmarium was not to be missed. Sure it was a bit touristy but that's what I was! Pharmarium is the cocktail bar set Sweden's first pharmacy was once opened in 1575. They take inspiration from the antique pharmacy to create interesting libations. I didn't get to explore the inside of the bar as I had just spent too many hours in the airplanes/airports. The outdoor seating was just what I needed. There is table seating but it was packed so I sat in the communal outdoor lounge area. Smoking is permitted and it's a great place to people watch and grab a cocktail. I had a white wine and mom got a gin and tonic. Please note this is Europe so the pours are exact and pricey. All in all, not a bad 1st spot to hit after a many hours of travel.

    Pink Magic Flowers

This place is great because of the central location. The problem is there is no room, your jammed packed on to their patio. The drinks are okay. We've noticed tequila isn't big in Stockholm, they did have one drink that had it call The Pink Magic Flower. It was refreshing and not to sweet, watermelon based with a hint of orange blossom.

The sign in front of the restaurant indicating the daily specials. The meatballs were good, and the meal of the day (salmon) was a steal!

We were here as part of a tour, and we had about an hour to eat, shop, or walk around the town square. Thanks to fellow Yelpers, we found this gem. Unlike what the listing suggests, they are actually open for lunch. However, their famous cocktails are not available until 4pm. Upon learning our time limitations, our curt but friendly waitress suggested that we have the Swedish meatballs and the meal of the day, which was the salmon. We promptly went with her suggestions. Both turned out great, not to mention it was especially fun for me to have Swedish meatballs, one of my favorite comfort foods, in the capital of Sweden. The check ended up pretty reasonably also, with the two of us spending just a little over 300 Kronas (about $34+). We were encouraged to come back at a time where we can experience the cocktails. We will see if that can happen before we leave this beautiful city.

We also enjoyed some smoked salmon for an appetizer that was awesome as well. Some colorful lights and a large umbrella with some space heaters help to take the chill out of the late summer nights. And the bartenders were spot on with a drink or beer when needed. Just what we needed after some full days of walking through the historic town that is so full of great things to see. It's not often I want to try something a second time, but this space deserves a return trip.

For dessert there was a strawberry sambuca shake which was out of this world. I would definitely want to come back for dinner, but for a special occasion. The prices were a bit high (although I do think it's worth the price). Will definitely be back for drinks, though.

The bar manager who was there that day ( my visit was in February 2017) had recently won a Bacardi cocktail competition for Sweden and was be going on to the international competition and if she won, the gonzo would win some notoriety [think same status of staples like rum and coke, vodka tonic, etc etc, along those lines.] The club also sold a few finger foods which I don't recall too much but I do remember them being tasty. All in all pretty pricey bar in a nice area near Gamla Stan. Like Noma in Copenhagen, Frantzièn is booked for months at a time. Next day, I found his gastropub, the Flying Elk. Here you can sample the cuisine of Stockholm's favorite chef. The space is warm, open windows in summer; it's next to the water-- an optimal space to enjoy the breeze while getting a bite to eat, sample brews, an Aquavit and maybe another dish. And I did just that. For starters I had the Pan fried scallops, truffled scrambled eggs, smoked brown butter, pomme paille, covered with bonito style shaved truffles. Get this. I could have had 3 of these dishes easily. I think this is perfection of sea and earth with layer upon layer of earth manna: scrambled eggs with truffles, brown butter, the thinnest crisp potatoes and to add insult to the experience shaved tuffles on top. The dish wants you think it's Japanese, it's not...but so beautifully earthy, beautifully tasty and beautifully satisfying. My next dish the Veal Schnitzel Björn Frantzén: veal with triple cooked fries, roasted anchovy butter, red wine jus and sorrel salad was a symphony of taste contrasts: the panko-crisp texture of the veal with red wine jus (grapey delicious sauce albeit slightly overcooked cutlet), roasted anchovy butter with triple cooked fries (crisp into unctuous browned butter with a hint of anchovy) and the nicely tart (and teasingly pungent) sorrel salad. For dessert: "Eton Mess" Vanilla ice cream w/ raspberries & pink pepper meringue, strawberry & hibiscus mousse scented with roses . This was my fave dessert this trip. It's not just vanilla ice cream, it's amazingly well made silky yet subtle vanilla ice cream, that framed the summer raspberries; you scoop the strawberry/hibiscus mousse with a slightly pungent pepper meringue, the complex crumbles on your palate and you swear you've never had anything like this. The flower petals and dried raspberries on top of this "mess" sealed this dish for me as one my favorite desserts ever. A sauterne and a coffee later, the day seemed perfect. I loved this dish so that on one of my other visits to Gamla Stan, I ordered it to go, to seal the flavors in my memory as we strolled through the cobbled streets of this magnificent city, giddy. Loved it. Coming back. Visits: 2 Tip: Come hungry.
