Cabbage - IG @bougiefoodieboi
Kyle W.

This restaurant is located conveniently next to the City Backpackers Hostel in Stockholm, and they specialize in Swedish food served tapas style so it is easy to order a few dishes per person and share them for the variety. As it's quite popular, reservations are highly recommended - we made one just in case to ensure a table seating. There's nice local art around the walls of the restaurant, which adds an additional depth to the experience. We ordered the cabbage, meatballs, reindeer suovas, and the Swedish cheesecake. The cabbage was a sizable amount for a half order, nicely grilled and tossed with a mustard sauce - it is super flavorful! The meatballs are of high quality - I haven't tried IKEA meatballs yet but these are very delicious and satisfying. The reindeer suovas are crackers with smoked reindeer - the meat texture is so tender and chewy, with a hint of smokiness. It is definitely a more unique dish so the suovas and the meatballs would be my picks here if you were to dine solo. The Swedish cheesecake is way different from American cheesecake - give it a try! It's not too sweet, my favorite level of sweetness, but it nonetheless gives a nice cheese flavor to it.

Food and atmosphere were fantastic. I had the meatballs, which were spectacular, even though the serving for the price was lacking in my opinion. The only problem I had with Nomad was the service. Even with the restaurant being half full, I waited 5 minutes to be seated. Finally, after figuring that I just didn't get the memo that the restaurant was self seating, I go to a table and got yelled at immediately, being told that I needed to wait my turn even though the space is barely full and I'm the only patron waiting. The waitress who yelled at me also served me, and was cold and ungracious. From the kitchen, I caught her staring multiple times, so much so that another waitress brought me a dessert on the house. While this very much improved my night, I still couldn't help but be disappointed by my experience.

One of my favorite dining experiences in Stockholm. Review is as much for the service as the meal. Love the Snapas concept which allows you to try multiple local dishes. It's a tiny space so a reservation is recommended. As a solo-traveller I did not have a res and sat at the bar. I was traveling over Easter weekend and Nomad was near my hotel and actually open on Easter; I had a wonderful time.

Omgoodness we came into town absolutely famished!! We wanted a hearty meal. Hubby specifically wanted Swedish meatballs we found a place to have the best Scandinavian Swedish meatballs ever in Stockholm Sweden! We had the standard Swedish meatballs lingonberries whipped potatoes and gravy with pickled cucumbers as our green !! we inhaled our food ! loved the cute setting ! Absolutely delicious food that we forgot to take a picture . so here we have included the menu! Make sure you make a reservation!!! They were so thoughtful that they squeezed us in!! Don't tell your Farmor or Mormor that they have the better recipe!

My friend and I checked it out while visiting Stockholm because every other place with meatballs was out of our price range at the time. For the price, the meatballs, potatoes and berries we got were amazing and there was so much food. It was a great meal for our last night in the city. The place overall has a very interesting vibe, and I would say that I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Check it out!

Their own saison! Yum!

During the day, I came by for a beer with a new buddy I met at the City Backpackers hostel. I had recently injured myself with some major road rash from a motorcycle accident and the wait staff was super friendly and helped me out so kudos for being awesome and dealing with my grotesque wounds. I came back later that night to get some dinner and their meatballs were really good! I love the mashup of sides which blended perfectly. Everyone kept raving about the meatballs here and I can agree. The next day, a few guys I had met at the hostel and I have had Nomad for their meatballs already and we wanted to see if there were any other options around as we wanted to explore our palettes. However after stumbling about 10 minutes out towards the 7-Eleven, we decided to wander our way back here to get some dinner. This time I got the salmon which was also really good and different so it seems like you can't really go wrong with coming back for more. The ambiance is really chill and you can meet people here and share some stories. Shoutout to them for making their own saison as well. They only really have one draft from when I was there but see if they have some bottles that you can try. Funny that a lot of me time in Sweden was here at Nomad, but it was honestly worth it because the food and people here are awesome!

Cool little place we found thanks to Yelp! Super cosy and yet so trendy. I wasn't sure if I was in someones living room or in a coffee shop/bar. The menu is limited but what they do they do well! We had the pickled herring followed by the meatballs. Tasty hearty and the pickling skills were special! Come visit this place...off the beaten path and a great find. Our first eat in Stockholm!

Nice surprise in Stockholm. This little restaurant with few choices on the menu is in fact an excellent place to have dinner. You will spend a nice evening in the patio enjoying a few beers and good Swedish meals. The meatballs and the Gravad Lax are excellent. I won't give 5 stars because unfortunately the service is slow and bad organized. They should definitely order a third waiter to help during this busy summer nights. Otherwise... great dinner!

Went there twice in a week. The food, (swedish balls OMG) and the ambiance are great! I would fly from Montreal again, just for the restaurant!

While this is located next door to a hostel it is actually fantastic food. I had the meatball plate and it was fantastic! Came with all the normal fixings (lingonberries and sauce) and the sauce was done very well. Overall I was really happy with Nomad and would drop a 5* based on quality of food but I ordered at 7 and didn't get my plate until 8:30. I think there was a bit of a language barrier which may have caused this but either way it kind of killed the experience for me even though the food was wonderful and service was great otherwise. Do the meatballs!

Loved the food, beer, patio out back and live music. Great vibes. As tourist, felt very comfortable and enjoyed this off beaten path spot.

The bar is small, unassuming and finds itself on a street filled with conspicuous, Italian restaurants hosting happy hours for corporate Swedes. The bar is a standout for the drinks, the trademark Swedish charisma and genuine warmth. As a side, shout out to Sweden for having the nicest, most welcoming people in the world. We were given a standing table when we got in, but quickly moved to a couple of seats by the bar. We were one of 8 couples at the bar, so yes, very date night vibes. For our first round of drinks, we got the Easy Martini and Let them Eat Cake. The latter was too sweet for our liking but the Easy Martini had the perfect amount of sweet and tart. Our second round was the winner with the Girl Dinner and their Old Fashioned. The Girl dinner was crafted to perfection and possibly the best version of a martini we've ever had. The old fashioned too, made with WhistlePig 10 years was fantastic. The service cannot be faulted, we profusely thanked the lovely bartender, vowing to crow about it to whoever cares to listen and to be back when we are in Stockholm next.

If I was 19 years old - I imagine I would come here often…read more.. Once in a blue moon it is very fun to have a big night out, drinking and dancing with friends - and this was a great place to do just that. With a big enough group and a table, you feel like you can breathe, move around freely and enjoy the night. The music was very "pop" which was fun for dancing and singing along.... who doesn't like a little Riri in their life :) I could not imagine coming here with just a girlfriend and braving the dance floor area - then I would probably be giving 2 stars - as you can barely walk through the masses, I'm sure it must take an hour to order a drink and I would certainly feel old - as I could probably be the mother of some of the young kids here...

I don't know what to think of this place. The drinks were decent at a very "decent" price (ie it's…read moreexpensive of course -- you're in östermalm) but there's no entrance fee or people making you wait to get in so that's always nice. The music was terrible! This girl/guy combo spinning just the least interesting crap. Both me and my friend tried to request something and the guy just kind of shook his head and played dumb (I'm pretty sure he had Spotify open on his laptop and I was showing him a song on Spotify...). The crowd was weird. Mostly older 35-40 sprinkled with a few younger people. I kind of wondered what they and we were doing there. Okay let me clarify, the crowd wasn't weird because of the age but rather something felt wrong about the social situation in the room. The setup inside is interesting, with a sort of stage and tiered seating for looking out on the "crowd" (the "dance floor" / "mixing-area" is pretty small, in fact it's a very small little alcove in the back of a restaurant). My friends kept saying it was a nice place to see people dressed up, but I just saw girls with big, ugly watches and guys with large laptop briefcases at their feet (at 12am on a Friday night) otherwise wearing nothing too interesting. No one looked particularly classy, chic, bussiness pro, or even dapper cool -- except us, of course ^^ I would come back here because I have a feeling it was an off-night in terms of experience but I wouldn't recommend going here as I experienced it. I'm not saying definitely do NOT go here. But I can't give it my recommendation at this moment in time.
