This past July, I hurt myself during yoga (a result and mix of over-exercising/working out/pandemic stress) and I was referred to this practice. Before then, I had never injured myself physically and was experiencing - what I soon came to recognize - a high level of anxiety previously unknown to me. As someone who always felt extremely strong, both physically and mentally, I felt like a stranger in my own body. Dr. Niv (Zack) was my primary therapist and (while I wish I had never injured myself or had to learn what anxiety was) I consider it a major blessing that of all the PT's in the world, I somehow happened to find him. He is an expert, serious professional, and all around fantastic human being. I have never felt more safe, taken care, understood, or truly heard by a health care professional ever in my life. The care I received was always personalized and thoughtful. I always felt like he wanted to hear what was on my mind/concerns/etc. His understanding of the body and mind is incredible. My treatment always felt like an extremely educated and human approach. Something I (and everyone else) desperately needed. I could go on! While I am essentially recovered, I wish I could visit this practice every week. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. Also noteworthy: The front desk staff are amazing - incredibly easy to make or change an appointment, assist with insurance/billing related questions or problems. The facility is clean & welcoming. I would love to share my experience further with anyone considering a visit.

I have met many people who dealing with serious injuries at Perfect Stride but the atmosphere is so upbeat and supportive there is this sense that recovery is always in reach and being told things like " You are not your MRI" really helps. My first review was in 2016 and nine years later I still love Perfect Stride for healing and strength!

I can not say enough great things about Perfect Stride!! I've been working with Vikash for over six…read moremonths, and he is by far the best PT I have worked with in over a decade as a competitive high school + D3 college athlete turned runner into adulthood. I came in after dealing with more than half a year of chronic pain in multiple places--my knee, hamstring, and random spots--that had completely sidelined my running. I had already tried several well-known running PT clinics around the city and continued to end up with lingering pain and zero trust in my providers or recovery plan. By the time I found Vikash, I was frustrated, burned out, and extremely fearful that I'd never get back to running. From day one, Vikash was different. He was the only PT who actually listened to what I'd been experiencing. He took the time to understand the full picture and built a thoughtful, personalized plan instead of a one-size-fits-all routine. What made the biggest difference, though, was how he guided me through the recovery process with positivity. I was extremely pessimistic when I started but overtime with his thoughtful and supportive approach, I began to feel more hopeful. He helped me understand that pain isn't always a setback, taught me how to work through it safely, and reframed how I think about my body and training. Those skills have been genuinely life-changing, and I know I'll carry them with me as an athlete forever. Recovery wasn't always easy, and there some bumps throughout the process, but I really would not be where I am today without Vikash. I'm now not only out of chronic pain but actively training again. Even though I have occasional flare ups, I have so much more understanding about how to work through them and not fear injury/pain as an athlete. I'm continuing to work with Vikash on a structured running plan, building a strong running base for next year's races, and I feel stronger, more confident, and more mentally prepared than I have in a very long time. If you're a runner--or honestly any athlete--who feels stuck, discouraged, or unheard dealing with lingering pain, I highly recommend Perfect Stride!

I really wanted to…read morelike it here after reading all of the great reviews, which is why I felt obligated to write this review after having such a poor experience here. My first appointment left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, however, I decided to give them another chance as it was only the first appointment. I was taken late and released early which I did not appreciate. I was told the original appointment would be 1 hour and it took roughly 35 minutes. I saw LilliAnn for my first appointment and scheduled weekly follow up appointments with her. I confirmed with the receptionist in the office that going forward my appointments would be with LilliAnn. When I showed up for my second appointment I was also taken ~10 minutes late by a man who I had not previously met or worked with at all. He informed me that my appointment that day would be with Mackenzie, and that she wanted me to get started with a particular exercise. Not only had I never heard of or even been introduced to Mackenzie, I also had never done the exercise he was referencing. I questioned as to whether or not he had the right person as I was there for my appointment with LilliAnn. He informed me only then that LilliAnn was "double booked" and that Mackenzie would be working with me that day. I found it very unprofessional that I was not informed of this the second I checked in, or honestly, notified before I even arrived for my appointment. This was especially troubling as I had been there one week before and scheduled the appointment with LiliAnn. The man then went to grab Mackenzie who seemed very bothered that I was confused as to what was going on and asking questions. She then proceeded to ask me multiple questions that LilliAnn had asked and I had answered at my FIRST appointment a week prior. I finally asked Mackenzie if I should expect to answer these same questions at every appointment, because LilliAnn had asked me the same questions just the week before. Mackenzie was very aggressive, dismissive, and right out pissed off by my question informing me that she had read my chart. She then abruptly went to the back without warning, only to come back a few minutes later to continue with my session. I also found it unprofessional that LilliAnn was present and never came to tell me what was going on. She popped out for a second, saw I was with Mackenzie and quickly ran back into whatever room she came from. Even excluding the aforementioned disaster, I was not impressed by the care or "physical therapy" I received whatsoever. Mackenzie proceeded to give me 2-3 exercises at once, told me to complete 2 sets of 12 of each exercise and walked away. She was also working with another patient at the same time as me and instructing her to do exercises as well. More than half the time I was completing the exercises she instructed I complete, she was not even in the room. All this is to say that I would think twice before booking an appointment with Integrative PT of NYC. It is not worth the time or the headache. Don't say I didn't warn you!

The instruction made me very motivated to get better and I was able to see progress every couple of weeks until I was back to my original performance. It also helped that the therapists at Lion Physical Therapy are knowledgable about many different sports, including rock climbing, so I was able to get care that was specifically tailored to the movements that I wanted to perform. My previous PT experience was focused on getting me back to "normal daily living" - well, as a competitive athlete that wasn't the "normal" I wanted to go back to. I am happy to report that my Achillies tendinitis never came back and the care from City PT was a total success. Between that 2014 review and roughly 2019, both my wife and I popped into City PT a few miner bumps and bruises and all of those interactions were very positive. Between 2019 and 2023, my insurance provider changed and I could no longer go to City PT as they were out of network. In those years, I tried a Boreum Hill PT center and a Spear location in Park Slope and was totally disappointed with both. In late 2024, I learned that I would need hip preservation surgery and I decided to change my insurance provider with the sole intent of making sure I went with a policy that City PT accepted. It was a great decision and, in the past two years, I worked on the following at City PT... - Hamstring tendinitis - Hip preservation surgery recovery - Recovery with a partially torn rotator cuff The level of care and attention was second to none and I was so relieved to find that everything at City PT was not only as good as I remember but even better. The majority of my care was handled by JoAnn Yanami but it is an intimate environment and it's easy to see how other therapists are handling their patients. I observed both Dan Tahany and Ulin Li to be very attentive to all of the people they cared for. That said, since JoAnn was my primary care giver, I can speak to her talents a bit more specifically. Her attention to detail is excellent and whether it be deep tissue massage or communicating exercise form, she is 100% focused and invested in her patients. Even more important, like Ulin and Dan, she cares. It seems silly to say as I am sure a lot of physical therapists think they care about their patients. However, City PT excels at this aspect, which is so important as recovery for the patient can be an emotionally exhausting experience. And the empathy is not motivated by sales but by genuine personal and professional investment in the patient. As a small business owner, I'm in sales every day. When I am not at work, I can tell when people are selling me something or not and this is never the case at City PT. This focus by JoAnn, Dan and Ulin is what separates City PT from any other physical therapy business out there. I highly recommend them and I hope you use them and that you come to the same conclusions. Good luck with recovery and call City PT today!

As a full time dentist, my body takes a real beating, especially my lower back, so finding the right physical therapist was extremely important to me. I came in dealing with ongoing back pain and was starting to think more seriously about whether surgery might eventually be necessary. Since working with Conner, that trajectory has shifted in a very meaningful way. I'm not claiming magic, but so far I've been able to avoid surgery, and that is a huge win. What I really appreciate is that this is not the typical fluffy PT experience with endless generic stretches and exercises that don't feel connected to real strength or function. Conner takes a much more thoughtful approach. We do careful progressive overload with real attention to form, limitations, and precautions for my back. So I'm not just getting physical therapy. I'm also able to keep up with my training and strength work at the same time. That combination has been incredibly valuable for me. Conner is also just a pleasure to work with. He is easy to talk to, a great conversationalist, and he makes the sessions feel fun, challenging, and encouraging without ever losing sight of safety. He knows how to push appropriately while still being careful. The new facility is another big plus. It feels modern, professional, and well set up for both rehab and training, which fits this style of treatment perfectly. It does not feel like a stale or overly clinical PT office. The early morning hours work really well for my schedule, and the location is very convenient and easy to access by the L train. Being so central in Manhattan makes it easy to get to. Overall, it feels like a win win. I'm addressing my back pain seriously while also continuing to build strength instead of putting my whole physical life on pause. Highly recommend Conner and PhysioRX.
