As a woman who is always on her feet, I'd say that chiropractic health is one of my many secrets to staying with the day to day demands of a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. It's not just a skeletal adjustment, its mental as well. Spiritual even! Dr. Eckman is wonderful! She has a broad knowledge of the musculoskeletal and nervous system functions. Her passion is to heal people with chronic illness that is preventable and mostly treatable; by educating her clients and offering her hands, she can help adjust your life back to normal! Thank you Dr. Eckman read more

She does three different way of treatments: 1. Cervical Chiropractic on the side of your neck - I have been getting this treatment else where for a while so I could feel that she is not well trained and was way off of right spot to work on, and just within 24 hours I start getting so much pain which last about a week until I went back to the other place in Encinitas. If you want to know about this treatment, here is the link http://www.nucca.org/what-is-nucca/ 2. Chiropractic - I have been getting this treatment in many different places and for the first time I wanted to ask to 'stop". It was awful and made me really nervous. 3. Pain Relief - This was the only thing I thought she does well, but it is too pricy just for this type of treatment, so I found somewhere else. Parking was awful in the area, I had to drive around for 15 min. to find a spot, and then my second visit, I arrived in time for my appointment and all the entrance in the building was locked. I called her but no one answered, and eventually got a call from her when I just arrived home. No, I am not going back. I paid for several sessions in advance but decided not to take the rest. Overall my experience was nothing but stressful, nerve racking and painful. read more

Excellent chiropractor! She knows what she's doing and has a lot of experience and passion for what she does. I highly recommend. I've been to tons of chiropractors and not one figured out what was causing my pain, but Dr. Erickson found it right away. read more

I have seen chiropractors for years. I recently relocated and needed to find a new chiropractor. I had never had the Active Release Technique Dr. Eckman used on me. It was great and I would highly recommend her. She spends more time on you than the average chiropractor who just adjusts you. read more

I've been to several chiropractors, but Dr. Erika has been by far the most effective. Some chiropractors give one or two adjustments in 5 - 10 minute appointments. But appointments with Dr. Erika are 30 minutes long. She is much more thorough than other chiropractors I have been to. She has many different ways to check for alignment imbalances from your head to feet. She also uses muscle checking (aka applied kinesiology) which is a fantastic tool that some chiropractors use. It helps to identify misalignments and also the best way to correct the problems. I went to Dr. Erika for some headache problems and she helped greatly whereas the two chiropractors I saw before her helped minimally. Also from seeing Dr. Erika, she has helped fix some knee and hip pain I'd been having for over 15 years. Pretty much I had put those issues on the back burner, but a positive side effect of Dr. Erika's thorough sessions has helped those issues and they feel so much better now. For these reasons, I would guess that Dr. Erika is one of the best chiropractors in San Diego. She is a gem. read more

When I first met Dr. Eckman I didn't know much about the benefits of chiropractic care both short term and long term. Coming from an athletic background I always believed my health was based simply around just stretching, working out, and eating right. However, despite my best efforts I found myself with increased lower back pain, muscle tightness and fatigue. Let's face it being a now full time young man in the workforce, you don't necessarily have the time to keep your body ship shape. Due to my busy lifestyle and poor eating habits I found my health and quality of life steadily decline. It wasn't until getting adjusted by Dr. Erika I began to find not only my back pain start subside but dramatic improvements in my energy, focus, and overall health. One particular day driving down the freeway, after getting adjusted I even found my vision had begun improve as well, not something I expected, but amazed and pleasantly surprised all the same. read more

I came to see Dr. Erika two weeks ago and she did an adjustment during my lunch break in just 30 minutes. Dr. Erika adjusted my shoulders and realigned my neck. I am a dental assistant so I put a lot of stress in my back/neck area and ever since I saw Dr. Erika I haven't had any aches. She does applied Kinesiology and also realigned the muscles with the bone which I really needed. I used to see a chiropractor who would just pop me in 5 minutes but my neck/ back would go back the same within a week. I highly recommend anybody who's interested in getting adjusted properly to see Dr. Erika she's really good at what she does and she is super passionate about it as well. I wish I could give her more than five stars because she definitely deserves more she works super hard Dr. Erika is the best chiropractor I have ever had! read more

I purchased a deal through Deal Me In. I was curious about the Neuro Lymphatic Release Therapy w/Healing Active Release Treatment (ART). I had 2 accidents & had been getting massages & chiropractic treatments which seem to be temporary. Dr. Eckman did an impressive job releasing the damaged soft tissue in areas of my collar bone & back. She concluded my SI joint was constantly misaligned due to my breathing & movements w/my diaphragms. She explains in detail the treatment as she's doing it. I was impressed that she used ART rather the typical chiropractic adjustment. I felt fine when I left the office but as the evening went on, I started feeling achy on the areas she worked on. She recommends using damp heat on the areas. I didn't have the chance but I plan on doing an epson salt bath to alleviate the aches since she worked on a lot of areas. If you have chronic issues that are not keeping your body aligned, I recommend checking Dr. Eckman out and see for yourself. I look forward to my up coming treatments in correcting my issues rather keeping it chronic. read more

I travel a lot and always have issues with my back. I used to go to a normal chiropractor that just does a quick adjustment your back and sends you away. Erika takes the time to figure out what is really going on in your body and applies her treatments accordingly. I have seen major improvements since I started seeing her. I would highly recommend going seeing her! read more

Dr. Eckman is very professional and gifted in her chiropractic skills and abilities. She is also very caring, empathic and informative to her patients. Whenever I asked her questions concerning my health, she always gave me an informative and well educated answer. We also discussed health goals. I felt like we achieved these as a team by aligning, improving and adjusting treatments based on my needs as her patient. I initially went to get adjusted and aligned with the intent on improving focus, sleep, neck pain and overall wellbeing. As a graduate student, these areas of my life are crucial for maximum performance. After her first adjustment, I went home and fell into a deep sleep. When I woke up, I realized I hadn't slept that well in months! After a few more adjustments, I noticed my focus was improving. I also noticed I was carrying less stress in my upper back, shoulders and neck. Because of this, I was able to feel more relaxed and focused before and during my examinations. Overall, Dr. Eckman is an amazing chiropractor and one that I would recommend. I look forward to seeing her upon my next treatment! read more

I have been to a few chiropractors in Pacific Beach and Dr. Erika Eckman is simply the best. Her whole person approach towards healing the body has really worked for my entire family. I highly recommend Dr. Erika Eckman to anyone looking for a Chiropractor in San Diego! read more

Erika is amazing. Not your typical chiropractor by any definition. She is very thorough to ensure where the root of your issue and symptom is coming from and then takes very careful and deliberate care to test, adjust, massage, and stretches according to what your body needs to best function. I love that she is very clear to show the progress in your body. I injured my MCL and every muscle test and adjustment she would show where the muscles were getting stronger. It wasn't just adjusting my body but learning how to be in tune with my body. She also recommends food exercises and other options that will help you heal outside the appointments. She has a soothing sweet personality that makes you feel at ease. She is very intelligent and if you like the info she is great at explaining things very simply so you can understand what is happening in your body. I'm taking my son to see her next week and I am very excited about how much she will be able to help him too. Love her! read more

I have never been to a Chiropractor until I got in a car accident. Dr. Eckman was so wonderful getting me in right away to see her. I have a lot of neck and back pain and have tried everything from physical therapy and acupuncture to chiropractic and kinesiology. My only relief is when I get treated by her. I love how she focuses on the whole person, health and vitality. She is very thorough with her examinations and I feel that she really cares about my pain relief. On my first visit, Dr Erika patiently walked me through a basic understanding of the body, how different parts of the body function in relation to each other, and how different treatments handle issues in the body. Her teaching, which she simplified for my understanding, fascinated and helped me to understand how my body works and why it functions or mal-functions the way it does. She was not only friendly, personable, and knowledgeable but also took her time in helping answer my questions, ease my symptoms through adjustments, and educated me on how to walk out of her office and continue thriving and enjoying a healthy life! read more

I was having problems with my right shoulder; I couldn't raise my arm laterally but was able to raise it anteriorly. There was so much pain in my shoulder but the joint itself wasn't inflamed. I had supposed it was due to ridiculous reps of pull ups from Crossfit but it was just on my right shoulder. This lasted for almost two weeks. I had gone to a chiropractor, a sports massage therapist, a reflexologist, an acupuncturist and nothing worked. I know Dr. Erika from church and I asked her for her opinion about it. She performed manual muscle testing on my right arm. There was a particular position which I was not able to resist her pushing on my arm. She applied pressure underneath my right scapula then applied pressure just below my right clavicle. She was applying light pressure but it was so painful I was grimacing and grunting! She continued to do so until the pain went away. After that, she performed that same manual muscle test and I passed! She said something about my lymph node being congested and needed a reset. The next day, I was able to raise my arm laterally without any pain! She knows her stuff!! read more
