When my washer AND dryer broke simultaneously, I conducted a thorough online search for an appliance repair service. I ended up calling Reliable Appliance Service in Stratford because of the many excellent customer reviews. The owner, Bob, was very accommodating over the telephone and scheduled a call as soon as he could to evaluate my appliances. As it turns out, I am 100 percent pleased with Bob and Laurie. They are not only honest, but beyond knowledgeable. In fact, Bob provided me with a crash course in washers and dryers! In addition, he fixed my dryer for a reasonable fee. Together, Bob and Laure asked great questions about the dryer, location, vent length and direction, etc. We set up a consult for two days later. They called to let me know they were on the way (well within the window we set up), and wore masks when they arrived. Their initial review and consult was concerning--air was moving at about 900 feet per minute (minimum is around 1,200), indicating a major obstruction. They had a camera system and other equipment to explore and evaluate the vent system. Within minutes of their departure, Laure called with a very reasonable estimate for the job. We set up an appointment for five days later. In about an hour, Laure and Bob degunked the vent tubing and got the air velocity to over 1,600 feet per minute. They added me to their automatic recall list, so they'll visit again in two years. Bob and Laure are knowledgeable, patient with questions, and provide great explanations of their concerns and recommendations. They were tidy and worked carefully while wedged between the washer and hot water heater. They reinforced the importance of dryer maintenance in overall fire safety for my home. While at my house, a potential customer called about a refrigerator repair. Bob quickly determined that the appliance was under warranty and provided details how to initiate repair through that process. This demonstrated great integrity. Not that I want to have a problem with any of my appliances, but if I did, I would call Reliable Appliance Repair and Dryer Vent Service right away!

Their warranty was for only 90 days. When I inquired about any flexibility given how close we were, I was told they could only give a 5 day grace.
