Worst medical experience ever. Their charges for service were so erroneous my insurance rejected the claim. They billed for services that were not provided or rendered. I called my insurance Aetna and this crooked ER never even filled a claim with my insurance. I paid the bill on false information by their accounts payable that this was to meet my deductible. My insurance stated this is a false claim. I got ripped off for over $2000.00 dollars! read more

Balance billing - After I received by EOB I called Dr. Brown and he was kind enough to work out a payment plan for me. In the meantime Dr. Brown re-submitted by bill to Cigna and they actually paid more of the bill and Dr. Brown called and let me know that my outstanding balance had been reduced. The best thing is that DR. Brown docent charge any interest on payment plans versus paying a high interest rate on a credit card. Thank you ER Katy read more

I went to ER Katy because I expected I was having a miscarriage. I would have gone to my OBGYN, but it was 5pm on a Sunday, so we headed to ER Katy. There was no one there, so they got me into a room quickly. Once there, the doctor asked some questions, poked around my abdomen, and had to call someone to come from outside of their facility to bring in a transvaginal ultrasound. My husband and I waited alone the entire time after the first five minutes with a doctor. About 30-40 minutes later, the ultrasound tech arrived and did the ultrasound. We spent maybe five minutes with her, but she was nice enough. So other than the wait, the care was satisfactory. Before we left, we paid an insurance co-pay of $75. But over six months later, we received two additional bills (one for the physician, one for the facility) that totaled about $3,200 before insurance. While our insurance company did pay for around $2,300 of that, it was still a pretty hefty bill considering our short time at the ER. My husband called and asked for an itemized statement from the billing company. Once we got it, he discovered charges on there for things that were never used and procedures that were never performed. Their bill charged use for catheters we didn't use, IVs that were not administered, and other erroneous expenses. They ended up knocking about $235 off the bill, and my husband was able to negotiate the remaining balance down a bit, but it was still pretty expensive. Needless to say, we were pretty upset about the whole thing. After my initial Yelp review, Dr. Brown (who runs the facility) called me directly and wanted to discuss our negative experience. My husband called him back a couple of days later and ended up speaking with him for about 45 minutes. He informed us that the doctor who we dealt with (who we barely saw) has since been fired for that very reason -- because he was more concerned with the business than patients. As for the bill, Dr. Brown promised to look into the work of the billing company, as he was very disappointed to hear about the erroneous items as well as the long delay in receiving the bill. He also said he now intends to review all bills personally before they are mailed out to ensure that they are correct and to avoid such problems in the future. Lastly, he addressed the high cost of the visit, which essentially boiled down to having to cover the onerous expenses of draconian government regulation and licensing, which is a big part of what makes modern medical care so frustrating. And let's be honest -- all of that has only gotten worse under Obamacare. In other words, the financial side of things still sucks, but it pretty much sucks everywhere. All things considered, I did appreciate Dr. Brown's concern regarding our experience and his promise to improve things going forward. read more

Dr. Mao and the staff at ER Katy were very attentive and caring with the injury my daughter sustain last week. The information communicated put both my daughter and me at ease. It was also great to receive a follow up call the following day to see how the my daughter was feeling. Really appreciate all that they did. Plus, there was no wait time. read more

Do not come here!!! I paid $500 out of pocket and was told will be reimbursed but didn't happen!! After few months they filed a collection at my credit bureau without my knowledge!!!! They mentioned at their website they accepted major insurance like BCBS. Misleading advertisement! I didn't get a call or any bill for collections!!! Service was not great!!! Waited too long to get care and was freezing and had chills. They didn't even bother to offer me a blanket and had to asked them to give me one which I never got. It's upsetting because I didn't even get better after visit and had to go to a specialist that morning!!! read more

Went to the facility after a fall to have my chest pain evaluated. I called ahead and then decided to make the drive over. From front-office staff to the doctors, nurses and x-Ray tech who took care of me, the whole experience was good. Facility is beautiful, seemed fully equipped to handle anything and I was treated with patience and dignity throughout my time there. Keep up the good work. read more

So Dr. Brown wants me to update review or remove. Medical care here is five star. However they appear to not accept reasonable and customary fees. If your insurance does not pay HUGE fees, you must pay yourself. They don't tell you this up front. And if you write a negative review they harass you to remove it because it is bad for their business. Just warning you read more

I have been to this ER twice & both times were prompt, thorough & I was very well taken care of. I highly recommend & will go back if needed. read more

We had an acute pain emergency in the middle of the night. We unfortunately don't have insurance and the hospital ERs all told us it was going to cost upwards of $1k. Katy ERs self pay was significantly lower and we were seen quickly. We are so glad we came here. read more

This is an edited review. My original review was 1 star. If I was just reviewing the staff and facility it would be 5 stars. We received excellent care and the facility was immaculate. The lower rating goes to the billing. My insurance and the facility disagreed on how the billing should be done. After some negotiating between the two I am paying less than my original bill but more than if I had gone to an ER attached to the hospital that is in-network with my insurance. In an emergency, where we could not make it to a hospital ER I would return here. Again, I love the facility and staff, its just the billing that is reducing my rating. read more

This emergency room is extraordinary! There is very short waiting times , and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and has class! The doctor's and nurses are down to earth, and I felt very comfortable. This place is highly recommended! read more

Took my husband there to see if he had the flu. It was in the evening and urgent care locations were closed... Asked the receptionist if we could be seen and told her it was more of an urgent care issue and we were concerned about the cost... She told us that they had recently changed the billing and that they were more comparable... Got a $2000 surprise. read more

Received a bill in the mail for $1691.13 and that's with insurance. I called them to see why my insurance hardly helped and they advised me another bill is on its way to my house for $2000 for just the doctor walking in. All I had done was 2 sutures for a superficial laceration. If I were you I would just go to a real ER and not waste your time and money here. read more

This place is amazing! Really, I have never had such a wonderful experience going for medical attention before in my life. I came here on a Saturday morning since I was not feeling well. When I got there, I was seen immediately and was so impressed with the entire staff!! The receptionist, nurses, technicians, and of course the doctor! He was so wonderful and knew exactly what needed to be done. They were very thorough and was so patient and made me feel relaxed about the tests I was having done. The facility is beautiful, very clean, and it was quiet. I have told all my friends about this place, I was very impressed!! read more

I had no wait time. The staff was courteous and very professional. Dr. Pettit called me and few days later to ensure I was feeling better!

The staff from the front desk to the doctor were all wonderful. My daughter and I felt very confident and cared for by everyone there. My daughter has had several surgeries and emergency room visits and said that this was the most comfortable she as ever felt in a medical setting. Dr. Pettit was great and took the time to explain everything to us. The facility was nice and clean. We were given quick care and treated kindly by people I felt confident knew what they were doing. I would highly recommend them for anyone in need of medical care. They took great care of my daughter. read more

UPDATE: 7/25/16 - I checked my credit card statement this AM to make sure the double billing was still the same before I called and the second charge had been credited/removed. I also received a nice message from Dr. Brown. I assume this posting must have helped. Like I said, the health care service was outstanding, it was this billing issue that was the main issue. Dr. Brown, if you took care of this since yesterday, thanks. It saved me the aggravation of calling today. I have changed my rating. I went to ER Katy due to an emergency situation and the facility, staff, etc. was great. HOWEVER the billing months later, another story. My visit was in mid April and after my insurance did their thing, I finally received 2 bills in mid June. As I was heading out of town for a few weeks, before I left, I paid 1 bill via a personal check via US mail and the other I remitted my credit card information to make payment also via US mail. When I returned back, the check had cleared BUT the credit card payment had not yet posted. I checked my credit card statement and nothing had posted. After a while, 7/7/16 to be exact, I received a 2nd statement for this same bill I 'thought" I had paid via US mail. So, I figured, OK maybe it got lost in US mail. So............... I picked up the phone, called the toll free number spoke to a billing rep. Explained I had sent in information for payment, she said they had not received so I said, OK, let me give you the card information via the phone. She took the information on 7/11/16 and I made payment. I said to her, IF you should finally receive the US mail payment, I ASSUME you will have the brains to see it is already paid and you will NOT charge the credit card a second time. She assured me, this would not happen. Well guess what, checked the statement this AM, and lo and behold I made the telephone call payment on 7/11/16 and it posted. On 7/15/16, they charged the credit card a second time after they assured me, they would see that it was paid and not charge the card a second time. Now I need to call them again, waste my time and get this taken care of. PLUS, because I did not see the second change hit, I now also have interest charged on my card account which is a direct result of them not paying attention and seeing that the payment was already made. Care was good, billing horrible. They need to find a better solution, more timely remitting of billing, better accounts payable and posting of payments. I need to waste my time to fix this. Wonder if they would ever notice that they received payment for same bill 2 times? HUM! interesting question...............Bad, very bad. And of course, they will have some type of excuse for picking up the interest charged that I have now received as a result of this error on their side. Oh well, another example of medical sucking the life out of you even when you try to do the right thing and make payement. If you don't make payment, you can be sure. collections would be calling and hounding you for payment. read more

Our entire family of 5 has been here at one point or another. We have all had great results with things varying from an infected toe, to sinus infection, to common cold. Thank goodness for them! We love that their has not been much of a wait and the place is very clean! read more

I went here on New Year's eve, having one drink made my heart race (I am not a drinker). They said they accepted my insurance but never mentioned they were "out of Network" and sent a bill for $900 for everything (yikes) we settled for $400 and then 5 months later they sent a bill for $1800 saying they $900 was just the doctor portion. OMG. Now we are wondering if they will send a bill for the receptionist and parking. Do not go here unless you get preapproval from your insurance or are a millionaire. read more

We had to take my 15 year old daughter to ER Katy after waiting for 4 hours at TX Children's Hospital. She is in extreme pain and was vomiting due to the pain. We arrived with no wait. The wonderful staff at ER Katy took her in immediately and was able to help her. Dr Pettit carefully and caringly examined her and had an idea of what the problem was. Nurse Karen inserted an IV, drew blood and administered fluids and pain medicine within in a matter of minutes. Though my daughter is normally afraid of needles, Nurse Karen was so quick and precise, my daughter had no time to react. After being up all night and finally arriving at ER Katy at approximately 3:45am, this was such a relief to see my daughter finally receiving some treatment. Dr. Pettit was accurate in his thought and my daughter had to go back to TX Children's for surgery. I can't thank ER Katy enough for their help! I hope we never have another emergency but if needed, we will go there first. I highly recommend them. read more
