Let me preface this by saying this review is based off of their teddy bear clinic not their actual medical services! My son's daycare was able to attend a teddy bear clinic here and it was so thought out and organized ! The kids were able to go through 3 stations 1. Inpatient - where they told the doctor everything that was wrong with their teddy bear ! The kids had a form and the adults filled it out! Very cute all the things the kids said 2. Next was the doctors office station where they got to see and use the doctors tools , learn what each tool did , and then test the tool out on the doctor ( stethoscope , and the tool to test reflexes) 3. X-rays- they were able to go to the x ray room and at the end receive an "x ray" of their teddy bear they could color! So cute very organized and a great way to teach young kids about the medical field read more

Came in with my 10 year old- late at night on a Friday- the front desk Yannete was so sweet, helpful and patient! We ended up meeting our nurse Barbara and she was not only great with my child, but insightful. He had a lot of random questions dealing with the body / sickness and she was quick to answer any and all questions! My son also feels weird with some doctors when he gets "touched", but he said this one was quick and fast and didn't make him feel "weird." (Also, i think most dr's are great, my son is just in that weird age lol) Service was great Personalities were great Accommodations were great. This place is 10/10!!!! read more

I do not understand what happens at this place. I drove my husband in (after continuously seeing their billboards) when he got something in his eye. We walked into a completely empty building with about 7 employees behind the desk socializing who all looked at us like we were bothering them being there. We explained the situation to be told that they probably cannot help but would try anyway so they took his insurance which then they said they do not accept. We were so baffled by this, we went to Memorial down the road. (Which was much better) I genuinely want to know what happens here because they do no accept run of the mill insurance, cannot help with run of the mill medical issues and were completely empty on the weekend. read more

Took daughter in due to fever and was given Tylenol. They took swab of samples and ran some Covid/flu tests and then sent us home. Yesterday I received a bill with ridiculous high amount. The office visit fee alone costs $2445, not including any services. Have been trying to negotiate with them but made no progress so far.. please note they are out of network for any type of insurance. Avoid at all cost. read more

I know that if you happen to visit an ER, then it is the likelihood of being an emergency. Meaning, your mind might be all cloudy and your not thinking about cost because your focus is typically on why your in the ER in the first place. I say this to say......"before" you move forward with this place, make sure you know the cost "before" your services are rendered. I find that to be common place in most facilities as such; however, it is not here. I have been to this location twice within a year and half - first time I was not charged anything and the second time I was charged multiple hundreds of dollars. Note: I have more than adequate insurance and nothing has changed via my insurance in years. It is extremely frustrating to have someone say....(1) with a straight face...."you must not have been billed properly the first time." I can see how that can happen. However, I then explained that one of my peers was just here, for a very similar scenario / actually almost identical, and that individual was not charged anything. Remember, this is a work peer; we compared our insurance policies and they are precisely the same. So....(2) the explanation was....again...with a straight face...."we do not know how they happened?" That's fine with me, but, should not have I not been billed as well until you figure out what happened? Proper customer service and the ethical thing to do says...."yes". But, that was not the case. The doctors and nurses are very good here; however, the front desk personnel as well as the billing department folks (in Spring) are pathetic and makes this place look bad. So, just beware........make sure you know the cost "prior" to services being rendered here. Hence, this why the overall rating for this location "could have been better". If that's your expectation...."could have been better", then definitely by all means give them an opportunity. But, we are talking about your health - not a restaurant. :o) read more

So thankful for this place. Staff was friendly. The place was clean and staff had masks and gloves on. Felt very comfortable being there during a pandemic. They treated my son and answered all my questions I had. They even called the next day to check up on us and see how we were doing. read more

I've been here three times in the last 7 months. The first was on Christmas Eve when I almost cut my finger off prepping Christmas dinner. They did a phenomenal job stitching my finger back together and address my pain issue. They also used a really cool finger tourniquet that didn't hurt at all but stopped the bleeding. I was super happy with the fast service and great job they did. The second time was during the February freeze when my four year old fell down the stairs and his tooth went through his bottom lip. They had to stitch inside and out and it was highly traumatic because my son was screaming and squirming everywhere. They did there best to keep him calm and held him in place as they put 10 stitches in him. Dr Petite somehow stitched the crying flailing kid with no issues, it was pretty impressive. The third time I fell down those same stairs (I'm about to turn my two story into a one story after this one). I fell on my elbow, and was worried it was broken. They saw me immediately and was x-rayed, given a pain killer, and out of there in 90 minutes. The majority of the wait was waiting for the 3rd party radiologist to read the x-ray. Dr Woods was so nice and did a really great job. So I think I have enough experience to say this place is great. They are an ER so you pay the ER co-pay and the bill isn't cheap. But their care is top notch and they really know what they are doing. My only complaint is they don't have a frequent flier program, because if they did I would be due for a free visit. read more

They have a sign that says long wait due to Covid. Umm really? No one is here. Is it Covid or short staffed and you need to adjust your time? I took my son here around 12am October 1st 2020, he hadn't been feeling well and looked horrible he was so bad he could barely walk. I'd taken him to his pediatrician almost 2days prior and they tested him for strep and even though it came back negative diagnosed him as having strep. The Dr at Katy Er immediately did a blood test, told me he had type 1 diabetes(my sons condition was severe). The ER Dr got on the phone with Texas Childrens right away to make sure they had room to take him. I'm so thankful for his diligence and care of my son, we were probably only there for about an hour before the ambulance got there and transferred him. read more

It's unfortunate when you have to use the emergency room but I was grateful they were there when I needed them. The staff was wonderful, efficient and knowledgeable. I had developed a sinus infection and I know we I. Old not make it to the doctor the next day. I dreaded heading to the hospital emergency room as I knew a 4 to 6 hour wait would be on the agenda. My husband suggested I go up the road to the urgent care by us, we'll was I glad I actually listened. There was no wait, I was taken right back to a room and was joined by the attending physician in about 5 minutes. The place is immaculately clean, modern and welcoming. It has a tranquil feel to it, from the beautiful fish tank built into the wall to the comfy chairs. After my exam and diagnosis I was escorted to the front to checkout. I was in there no longer than 45 min from beginning to end. I received a follow up phone call a few days later to check on how I was feeling, I thought that was a nice touch, also a few days later I received a get well card in the mail that was signed by the staff on duty the night I went... I'm here to tell you Katy folks that this is a top notch facility and why I can't say I hope to go back again I am glad they will be there if needed. .. I went to ER Katy recently and I can honestly say that it was the best possible experience given the circumstances. They got me into a room in less than 15 minutes and the medical staff were very attentive and made sure I was taken care of. I would highly recommend going there if you ever find yourself needing emergency care. They even called the next day to check on me. When I had questions about my bill, they were so nice and helpful. Awesome care, no wait!! My daughter had colitis and received IV and ct scan there. Very good care. I would go back before a hospital any day. Ended up being admitted a week later though. She had a perforated colon that happened after the visit. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. We saw the Md as an emergency visit. We he asked we specifically asked if they were in network with you HC. They say yes we accept your insurance. We paid our co-pay +20% coinsurance as our in network benefits requested. We get a bill a month later a bill for $4000 stating they were out of network. Our insurance decided that since it was an emergency that they would cover in network benefits. We still got 2 separate bills as what they called balance billing. $500 MD visit and 3000+ facility visit. Here is the kicker with this place they will tell you they accept your insurance but that doesn't mean they are contracted with your insurance. That is two separate things. They did not explain any other this!! They are scammers!! Beware of this place!!! Go to the ER you are better off and will actually get quality care!!! read more

Please check that your insurance covers this. I took my son in because the school sent him home with a Fever. After a speedy check up we were out the door in about 30 mins. Thus far I have spend over 800 dollars on 4 separate bills and spent hours trying to get this sorted. This all happened in May and I am still receiving bills. Billing comes from Oneruck INC, when you make a payment it will go to Guerisons Intrests. Keep in mind this is collections this is just how jacked the billing. Terrible. Worst experiences ever. Yes, I said experiences with an "s". I know, I should have known better after the first visit. In February my 6 month old son had a 102.7 fever so we brought him in. The nurse (I don't remember her name- maybe a twenty something blonde girl) was rude right off the bat. There were no other patients in sight anywhere in the building, so it's not like they were swamped and she was just stressed. My mother in law told the nurse that she took the baby's temp orally and it read 102.7. MIL was dealing with baby had her back to nurse. Nurse made a face and rolled her eyes as if to say "Bi***, please". Ummm, hi. I can see you even if she can't! Rude ass. So nurse takes his temp rectally and guess what. Yep, that's right, 102.7. Then nurse goes "Oh, maybe you were right" *insert eye roll* (from me this time) The dr was nice enough. But gave me no real answers about why my son was having such a hard time breathing. We payed our $100 ER co-pay and left. Ended up going to a real ER. Should have done that to begin with. So fast forward to August. My daughter has recurrent nose bleeds. They usually go away with 20 mins or so. Not this time. It had been happening for over an hour and she was getting light headed. It was a Sunday at 7pm. There was no where else to go. I figured I'd give them another shot because I'm really not one of moms who takes their kid to the ER for every little thing. Second worst decision ever. The male nurse wasn't "kinda rude" like blondie from before. This dude was downright rude, disinterested, and pretty much a hot mess. Again, not another patient anywhere in sight. Not even in the waiting room. So no excuse there. Nurse: "What was she doing when he nose started bleeding?" Me: "She was just standing there" Nurse: "Standing WHERE??" Me: Ummm... The kitchen?? (Mentally saying, you better check that attitude.) He bent the needle when he put in the IV blood draw thing. I know this because when he pulled it out, it was totally curved. She said she'd never had an IV be that painful before. And she's had her fair share. He left the trash from the sterilization stuff in her lap. When he removed it, there was blood on her sheet. AND there was a hole in his glove. AT THE FINGERTIP! I mean, come on, man. Throw me a bone, here. Terrible. Now the Dr on the other hand, he was great. Very thorough, kind and patient. We paid our $100 co-pay and left. Fast forward to today, I get a bill in the mail from our February visit for $1,710! I called the number on the bill and she said ER Katy isn't in my BCBS network. Would have been really nice to know. Especially since I'm sure I can expect another outrageous bill in 5 months for this latest visit. We will never return. I didn't want to give a bad review but I need to. I went to the Katy ER in September of 2013 with severe chest pain. It was the middle of the night and I wasn't sure where to go as I had just moved into town. I REALLY wish that I had gone straight to a real emergency room instead, for two main reasons. 1) They diagnosed what they thought was a gallbladder attack and treated my symptoms only. They did not do an ultrasound and I feel that had I gone to the real emergency room I would have been able to get one done at that time there. This resulted in me having to go to my doctor the next day and then be referred for an ultrasound. I ended up paying extra co-pays for doctors and wasting time to see a specialist when I needed surgery quickly to remove my gallbladder. 2) The billing has been terrible! I only received one bill which I paid when it was received and then this week, over 11 months later, I received another bill!! This is really poor billing! The only reason this is two stars and not one is because the facility was there when I needed it and I was able to be seen right away. I was the only patient there. read more

I have spoken to Dr. Brown at ER Katy a couple of times. I think we both walked away from a better understanding of the situation. It doesn't appear that this is going to be resolved in a manner that there are any winners (except maybe the insurance company). While unfortunate for Dr. Brown and ER Katy and myself I guess this is the way that negotiations are supposed to end. Nevertheless, I am walking away with the utmost respect for Dr. Brown and ER Katy for taking the time to telephone me and speak to me in great detail. Let me reiterate that the staff and doctors and the service were phenomenal. The unfortunate take away from all this is that the consumer is expected to do a great deal more "homework" than should be expected in an emergency situation. Would I recommend ER Katy? Absolutely. However, with the caveat of making sure that your insurance company won't leave you hung to dry like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas has done to me. read more

Staff was needed several times for injuries and took care of our students promptly and with great compassion. This was a long day (7am-11pm) and we could not have had this event without them! My daughter was want feeling well. I contacted her doctor and was placed on hold for a virtual visit. Her doctor is not seeing anyone who has Covid symptoms. One side of her throat was hurting. No other symptoms. Came here to get her tested. The staff was very professional and friendly. We have been here twice and have received the best treatment and service. Entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. They care and you can see it in their interaction. Definitely recommend! read more

My husband normally visits an Urgent Care clinic, but decided to give ER Katy a try. Terrible mistake! While the staff was friendly and professional, my husband was upfront and asked if his insurance worked at this facility. The front desk told him yes. He went in for an ear infection - he was given some prescriptions and went about his way. All in all about 50 mins in and out. We recently got a $3K bill in the mail and another one for about $200. If the front desk had been up front, my husband would have driven 8 mile to the Urgent care clinic that charges $50. Again, everyone was friendly - but I'm highly upset and disappointed with the the front desk not being honest. Now we have to figure out a way to pay this insanely expensive bill. If he had received treatment, something - I get it. However, his ear was looked at, and he was given a couple of prescriptions. The exact same thing the Urgent Care Clinic provides for a FRACTION of the amount billed at ER Katy. I was also even told when I called that this is not the first complaint about the front desk not being direct with the customers, in regards to the insurance. I had a wonderful experience at ER Katy! When I arrived I was immediately seen by my nurse Romeo and then Dr. Fite. With my somewhat complicated medical history, Dr. Fite took the time to discuss the treatment plan with me. I definitely felt that my concerns were addressed and that I was listened to. This is NOT AN URGENT CARE FACILITY! This is an EMERGENCY ROOM! If you are looking for an "urgent care" facility because your doctors office is closed or you don't have a primary care doctor know before you get here that this is not the same type of facility. Again it is an EMERGENCY facility. I know it says emergency in the name but since it is small and free standing (not connected to a hospital), I assumed this was the same thing as an urgent care. I know this is my fault for not knowing, but I'm sure others think the same thing which is why I'm leaving this review as a PSA. My son went in for an EAR INFECTION on the weekend. The doctor looked at my sons ear and gave him a shot. We paid $75 for the shot that day. I expected a bill for the remainder in the range of $100-$200. OUR ORIGINAL BILL WAS $2,800. The break down was a $2,300 facility fee and a $500 doctor fee. After talking with the facility I believe the total is now $725. I can't guarantee it, but based off of my experience YOU CAN PROBABLY EXPECT A HUGE BILL. Make sure if you are looking for an urgent care that it says urgent care in the name. read more

I went into ER Katy early on a Saturday morning due to severe throat pain. I was dealing with swollen throat for a couple days and could not swallow or hardly talk. I was happy to just walk in and have zero wait time and they tended to my pain immediately without looking at you like your over exaggerating. The nurses and staff were first class and made me feel comfortable like I was in my own home home. They did not leave any stone unturned. They ran blood tests, urine test, and even did a CT scan to rule out anything serious. Dr Pettit was super knowledgeable and so caring, so we're his nurses. He took his time and wanted to really help me. I felt so honored that he didn't just send me home with an antibiotic tell me to get rest. He controlled my pain, as I could not even swallow my spit when I walked in, and kept checking on me while I rested in the room. After the tests came back and going over every stat with me, he explained what the issue is was and provided all necessary meds and suggestions to resolve it. Dr Pettit stated not to hesitate to come back if I felt worst and even asked me to call him that night to let him know how I was doing. Dr Pettit and his staff were amazing period. I will recommend them to anyone who needs emergency care with a personal touch. Just great to see this place exist and I will definitely trust my family to go there no doubt. After being told twice ER Katy accepted our medical insurance, we used this facility for emergency medical treatment thinking it would be covered. Unfortunately, we received medical bills totaling just under $9000 because ER Katy was not in network or participating with our insurance. We never would have gone to ER Katy once, let alone twice, had we know they were not a participating provider with our medical insurance, which is why I asked twice before we received treatment if they accepted our insurance. They reduced our bill but we still ended up paying well beyond what we would have paid if they had actually been in network. If you decide to go to ER Katy, or any other freestanding ER, make sure you know before you go if they participate or are in network with your health insurance. We will never go back. read more

Worst medical experience ever. Their charges for service were so erroneous my insurance rejected the claim. They billed for services that were not provided or rendered. I called my insurance Aetna and this crooked ER never even filled a claim with my insurance. I paid the bill on false information by their accounts payable that this was to meet my deductible. My insurance stated this is a false claim. I got ripped off for over $2000.00 dollars! read more
