I bought my last house from someone who saw my post of me wanting to buy in the area. My son just closed on his second house doing the same thing. We've been living here for a year. We love it…read more I love the location - halfway between the City (Minneapolis) and Ridgedale shopping center, and within walking distance of Knollwood. Every fast food restaurant (Wendy's, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, Burger King, Five Guys, Pizza Luce, Panera, many more; Target). Yet we have the creek, woods, barbecue grills (I grill nearly every day in the summer, there are 4 grills and never had conflicts), picnic tables, love the mallards. Urban shopping and woodsy relaxing in one spot. As far as we can tell, it's silent. Once in a while I hear a car drive by (we face the garages), or I hear people if they're talking in the hallway through the front door. I consider that pretty quiet. I love the staff. They're down to earth people, I felt at home right away. Little things, like we moved in and found a welcoming 'Care package' on the counter that had things you might not have had room to pack - hand towel, soap, dish soap, shopping bag, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Valentine's Day, a little candy and Valentine for everyone (never had a landlord do that). They have building-wide parties in the party room - summer and holiday. They really make an effort to foster a sense of community. I've used the Fitness Center before and it was fine, but I belong to Lifetime Fitness so it's kinda hard to compete with that.... I haven't used the pool (Lifetime, again). I will say they're really strict about timely rent, from what I hear. We've been good with ours but if you're too late (I think it's around the 12th when it's due on the 1st) they will file for eviction. No nonsense. It would hurt a lot to be evicted and be a real turn-off to the place, I can imagine. But, love it here, renewed our lease, no plans to leave any time soon.

Go ahead and laugh, but Creekwood Estates was an absolute gem of a find, and I can not recommend this place enough. I dealt with Tracy from start to finish in my home search, and knowing I was dealing with so many issues from my previous landlords, she went above and beyond to make everything as smooth and easy as I have ever experienced. When I moved in, Tracy also left a welcome/ care package that contained items many may have packed away that first day. Shower rings, a shower curtain, toilet paper, paper towels, Tupperware, a kitchen towel, an oven mitt, oh and also toys and treats for my dog. Speaking of dogs, walk by the managements unit during office hours, and Tracy will come running out on the patio to catch you and give your dog a treat. Who does that?! Truly, it's not an apartment. It's a home. The property is set back in a neighborhood and is very quiet. It's not directly on a major road, but has access to anything you need within 5 minutes. Minnehaha Creek wraps around the complex and offers an incredibly serene setting, as well as great views. Kayaks and canoes occasionally floating past. Ducks swimming by. Rabbits down by the creek. And at night, open the oversized sliding glass door (an amazing feature) and all you will hear is the bullfrogs and crickets. You're in the cities, and yet it feels like you are away at a cabin. Truly indescribable. The units are an excellent size, and my personal balcony looks over the creek. Additionally, the caretakers must be mentioned. I have NEVER seen a property that is kept as clean as this. The buildings are old, yes, but it further speaks to the efforts they go to keeping them all looking pristine. I hear them out vacuuming and cleaning the hallway everyday. In conclusion, if you are tired of feeling like your property management team doesn't care about you, if you are tired of lazy and slow maintenance repairs, if you are tired of not feeling respected as someone who is handing out a tremendous amount of money in rent every month to be met with no regard to your quality of life... Let me make it easy. The solution is Creekwood. Save yourself the time and let Tracy prove not all landlords are scum. Come home and feel like family. Celebrate a peaceful life at your own personal shire.
