I was in town from across the country on an RV trip. I needed my RV trailer wheel bearings repacked…read moreand came to this business. HUGE mistake. Avoid Alaska trailer as they can leave you absolutely stranded due to incompetence and unprofessional work, they are lucky I didn't take them to small claims court, very lucky. The job was completed and I made it to the Yukon Territory about 2 weeks later, traveling no more than 65 mph and a wheel bearing burned up. I was in the middle of nowhere, 2hrs from any community. 8 hrs and $900 later I was towed into Whitehorse YT at a shop. 3 days later and $2500 I was back on the road. I tried to get Alaska Trailer to do the right thing and reimburse for the towing, that didn't happen. They did refund for my cost of the one bearing repair but not the towing. If they were a legit, ethical business in Anchorage they would have refunded the towing and their initial fees for doing the crappy, work to begin with. Their work should not be allowed in Alaska and they do not stand behind their work. Get stranded because of them and oh well, not willing to make it right. You have been warned!

So you are better off going south to get what you want for the price you want. Just don't expect any warranty service from anyone in Alaska unless you have one of the few brands sold here. Even then, you might get the AK Dealer saying: "sorry, we can't service your trailer/toy hauler/5th wheel or do any warranty work on it since you did not buy it from us. If we do warranty work on it, we expect you to pay for us for it in advance and you try to get reimbursed from the manufacturer". Have your purchase inspected from top to bottom, front to back testing all fixtures, drawers, lights, heat/cooling as part of the PDI (pre-deliver inspection). Don't leave the lot until every item is fixed to your satisfaction.

The RVs are boxed in so tight none of the slide-outs were able to operate. The saleman tried to push us away from the class B transit we wanted to see and showed us used class c's I suppose they needed to sell. He had no floor plans or brochures and he went on Google to look up the RV model from the supplier website and stumbled through the specs - wow lol. The sales manager later told me they emphasize renting so they can't really accommodate people purchasing RVs. They have several RVs that are 2-3 years old and are new with 4000 miles on them - something really weird is going on here with their lack of customer service - this place is nothing like the lower 48 - buyer beware.

This week we received a recall notice. I called ABC and I was told to take it somewhere else for service, as they have closed their service department. Poor poor poor customer services. After doing a ton of research on prices, capabilities and such, we decided to head out to Bubba's to check them out. Their prices were great with what you get and from what I could tell, we got more for our money, going with them. We went out there planning on buying a specific trailer and then after seeing them, checking out all the bells and whistles, we actually went with a different model. Very casual, no pressure or haggling. What you see is what you get and we like that. We worked with Alex who is their mechanic, so he was able to answer all of our questions, along with pointing out some things we hadn't thought of. We live 3 hours away, so we asked to have the repairs done in 3 days once we dropped it off (previously told the repairs would only take a day or two), but now being told they can't guarantee being done. So, now we have to wait till we have time to drop off for a week or two. Not happy with the communication, and we completely feel like we are being ignored after the sale was complete.
