ZERO STARS BECAUSE THERE WERE NO HORSES!!11!! Kidding. There weren't any horses, and I was disappointed, but that's not why this place doesn't rock. Facilities are limited (one bathroom, two stalls, one of which was out of order) and the loop path has limited or nonexistent signage- it's easy to get lost or wander around in circles if you're not familiar with the layout. On the plus side, it's clean with plenty of parking, and has two dog park areas. The loop trail has a few bike repair stops along the way, and some great views. Definitely take some sunblock though, because there is no shade whatsoever.

    Dog parks.

In July 2016, the park found a new audience as Pokemon Go players began camping out here waiting for Charmander to appear.

The horse I rode is named Misty, she was sweet and needed very little instruction from me. She followed the other horses nicely. The trail itself was beautiful and peaceful. We got to see some wildlife, rabbits, ground squirrels and quail. After the ride, Kim and David set up a fire pit in the middle of the horse corral with some chairs. We had s'mores and good conversation while the horses wondered around among us. It was a perfect evening and night and I would definitely do it again.

My 15 year old niece was nervous, but really enjoyed the whole experience! My 8 year old nephew is slightly on the spectrum and gets incredibly nervous around people and animals. He was timid at first, but David and Kim were incredibly patient and have way of speaking to the kids that builds trust. When asked if he would ride the horse at the beginning of the lesson he said "no.". When David told him that's completely ok, he started asking a lot of questions and became increasingly comfortable with David (and Silver) throughout the lesson. It was heartwarming to see his interest grow so much in such a short time. And yes, he ended up riding the horse and loving it! He hasn't stopped talking about the horses and when they visit I won't take them anywhere else. This was such a wonderful experience from start to finish, thank you!!

All day long she was so knowledgeable and answered every question we had, but also so funny while still being professional! My whole group thought that the value of this tour was exceptional. We walked the grounds, took pictures of the Werly family's decades-long collection of toys and decor, watched an action movie clip filmed on the property, then hit the trails. We're a group of experienced dirt bike/quad riders, but Alisha made sure to put some of the guys in their place and let us know that the ATV ride rules are rules, not suggestions. The views were incredible, we ate a delicious lunch by the Colorado river, then headed back for the gold mine tour. Being from the east coast, this part of US history isn't something we're familiar with, and we learned so much! Even though we had a large group, Alisha made a point to have a one-on-one conversation with every single one of us, which made it very special and personal. She was also an incredible photographer! I think we really got the bang for our buck, and i will definitely be recommending this tour - and Alisha by name - to everyone I know who's planning a Vegas trip in the future.
