With a great menu full of healthy options at cheap prices, it's pretty unbeatable. They serve lots of vegetables with every dish, a sizable portion of meat and the extra spicy dishes actually live up to their name. Sometimes there is quite a wait, but when it comes to food, I'd rather wait for something good then have a bad meal shoved at me in a rush. The décor is cheap and cheerful with a smattering of Buddhist decorations and adequate seating for the size of the restaurant, although takeaways are usually the go for me.

I do no for a fact that when I lived within walking distance of Fat Boy Thai, my girlfriend would eat it all the time and go on and on and on about how yummy it was. This Manukau branch has recently moved to the SouthPoint complex, which was an excellent idea on their part. What I like about this branch is that theres a lot more dining space- I'm used to getting my BurgerFuel to go, only because it's so hard to find a table at times! There's even a bit of outdoor seating here aswell which is even better over the summer. Their burgers are great. I usually dread getting them because I know I'll never finish them (small appetite), but I'm usually determined to see how far I can get. I can't get the lightweight burgers because I find them just a tad too small- so I'm generally stuck in burger limbo. Although that doesn't mean I don't have my favourites! I'm extremely partial to the Peanut Piston and the classic Ford Freakout. BurgerFuel has all the ingredients to feed any appetite.

Here they have both doner kebabs and kebabs on rice (my favourite) as well as charcoal burgers (beef, chicken and vegetarian) and a kids menu. If you choose to dine in Charcoal Burger also have the option to have an alcohol beverage with your meal. This I have never done as I have always taken my meal away, however the number of times I have driven past they have always been busy. There is both street parking and parking behind the store available for customers. It is located in a rather awkward position though. They are on the main road right by the lights, so the entrance is quite hidden beside the store and a set or terrace houses. I think this place is a good quick meal option if you're in the area, however I wouldn't come out of my way to dine at this take out joint.

A little bit too expensive for my liking, but I must admit the burgers here are big. Not too greasy as well, which is a bonus. I think next time I'll try one of their kebabs and see if I fare any better.

We wandered in and it took a while for someone to notice and tell us it was seat yourself. It took over 10min for one of the two waiters working to come over- meanwhile other customers arrived, had orders taken and drinks served. It was confusing because many people were going to the counter to order/pay immediately, but some were being waited on at their table. We weren't sure if we were wrong to wait at our tavle, but there's nothing to tell you which route to take. Our burgers were good. Definitely nothing to write home about, though. I could only find a single bottle of ketchup on any of the nearby tables and never could get the attention of a server to ask for more. We know food service is quite different in NZ compared to the US, so I'm hoping it was a one off night for them when they were clearly short staffed and that their service isn't as bad as it seemed.
