It was my first time kayaking in Austin, and thank god I read from some website that recommended this place. The location is wonderful. Parking was not difficult at all. The location is slightly secluded which is perfect because there is less "people traffic" and barely any wait time. You sign a waiver on the ipad and then pay. The guy who helped us out was extremely nice. Gave us a quick tutorial before we headed out and recommended spots we could kayak too. He also offered lifejackets, which is optional, but since I can't swim, I gladly accepted!! They have little lockers for you to place your belongings, or they have this plastic bag thing where you can place your items in and take with you out. The guy helping us helped us on to the kayak and when we came back, also helped us get back on land. Very very great service. Kayaking is $15/hour!! read more

This place is located in front of the Hi-International Hostel. I've kayaked in three spots and this is by far my fave. Added bonus, the white dude with dreads is so chill- I want to run him for Office. Last time I came and he wasn't there. No pun but I asked what was 'Sup? He's on a rock climbing trip. This guy is like my light house beacon. I was rattled. Who gonna be my new rock? The new guys are solid. I'm a big fan of this place. If you go here go to The Buzz Mill and enjoy their cold brew or have a drink. They pickle vodka, and have walnuts marinating in whiskey. Couple of those and the Texas sun won't get in your eyes no 'mo! read more

I love this location. It's not as crowded as the other SUP locations further towards MOPAC and right across the river is a little cove from relaxing. You can also make it to bird island and back. I prefer renting from EpicSUP and I've never had anything but great experiences with them. read more

We had fun paddle boarding but be warned, they charge you for the time it takes to get your life jacket and in the paddle board, so if there is a line to get your board, that cuts into your rental time. Kinda sucks. read more

One of many kayak/paddle board rental places along the river. Clean, plenty of equipment, friendly and helpful staff. It was our first paddle-boarding experience, the staff gave us a few pointers, and we were off... but we didn't need the pointers, as we had watched countless YouTube videos the night prior, thus making us instant paddle-board pros (well, she fell asleep half way though the first 2 min video). We had a great time and plan to do again. It will be a physical commitment if you plan to reach a further destination, like Barton Springs from EpicSUP; there are other rental places closer. This place is close to a small island on Ladybird Lake... looked neat going around it, but we did not get off. read more

I had such a great first experience paddle boarding today! I wondered if this location was going to be too far out to be very nice but parking was easy, the water was beautiful, there were lots of coves and a small island to explore, and it was really nice to not be super crowded like it can be on the west side of Town Lake. This place was a perfect place to try paddle-boarding for the first time. It is in a very quiet part of the lake, hardly anyone around even on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of street parking available and from the street, it is about a 3 minute walk down to the dock. You pay upfront for your first hour ($20/hr I believe) and there are lockers to store your belongings (no locks so bring your own if you want your stuff secured). We were only out there an hour or so but it was so calm and relaxing (and a good workout), I will definitely be back to support these guys! read more

Arrived at about 3:45pm on Sunday, at the same time as a few other people. The girl at the desk did a few people together to save time. Cost was $19 for an hour. I saw a type of board I had used before and was able to use that one. Staff was super nice. In about an hour I was able to paddle just past the I-35 bridge and back. On the way back in, I asked if they'd take my picture...they took a bunch and texted them to me. Great experience, and I'll definitely go back. read more

I was very pleased with my experience at Epic SUPing today, especially compared to the other docks I have gone to. I was a part of a big group using a groupon and we still had wonderful service. Unlike other places, the employees here give a short tutorial on how to stand up paddleboard and give some advice about the area too. As opposed to other rowing docks, this place has top staff and great equipment. Cade was who helped us out and he was very friendly. I will be back! Would recommend for any one looking for a fun, safe stand up paddleboarding excursion! read more

This place is awesome! Definitely Austin's hidden gem in a slew of over priced water fun! This was a first time for me, my boyfriend, and sister trying out SUP's. Epic gave us a tutorial on what to do, gave us free lockers to store our stuff, and were extremely friendly! We paid for a 2 hour trip at $15 hourly. We had an absolute blast but got held up by the wind on the way back and we ended up accidentally being 45 minutes late. They were so nice about everything and didn't charge us for our extra time (probably because they were genuinely concerned for my well being). I will 100% be coming here only from now on for water sports on Towne Lake. Totally recommend! * they even sell waters and gatorades for cheap. read more

Great prices and experience but they opened late. They were supposed to open at 10 am. The employees/owners arrived around 10:15 and by the time they set everything up and counted cash in front of us, it was around 10:25. My friend and I weren't the only ones waiting since 10 am; there was a whole paddle board yoga class of around 8 people waiting as well. I just just find that a little unprofessional. Maybe it was just that day but the rest of the experience was absolutely wonderful! read more

The staff is always friendly and professional, and if it's your first time getting out on board, they walk you through how to get up and everything really quick, and they'll also suggest some spots to paddle out to. This place is amazing. Parking lot very close by. Excellent rates for rentals. We went with some friends yesterday. My husband and I have our own kayak, so we took our friends here so they could rent. There was not a private launch site that we could see close by so we asked epicsup for their recommendations. They offered to let us launch from their dock as long as we did so quickly. This worked great for our group and I was very surprised by this gesture. The rental process for our friends was very quick and simple. No line. (Random weekend in April) excellent assistance loading and unloading and the kayaks were in great shape. We were quickly able to join our friends on the lake in our own kayak. Thank you so much epicsup! We will definitely be back and we feel great knowing there is somewhere friendly, professional, and enthusiastic to bring our friends from out of town. Keep it up! read more

My wife and I were fortunate to paddle board here. The staff was courteous, helpful, and thorough with explaining the paddling boarding techniques and safety features. The gear was in great shape. The immediate area of Lady Bird Lake was peaceful and serene. We had a blast! I spent an hour this morning with Todd. I'm already slightly sore, a bit sunburned, and I can't wait to do it again! Epic SUP is opening a new dock location in a few weeks and I will be the first in line!! I really enjoyed my lesson with Todd. He was super patient, full of knowledge, and easy on the eyes too. He continued to coach once we were on the water, he was easy to talk to, and really knows his stuff. You can tell, he is absolutely passionate about what he does and wants to share it with others. I feel like I have been introduced to new sport and can't wait to dive in! SUP is a great workout, fun, and it's really enjoyable. Austin is such a water-centered area. SUP is a great way to get on the water and really enjoy the zen-like atmosphere. Todd has tons of great information and I absolutely will be back to rent another board and head out to enjoy another beautiful day in Austin. Add this to the list of Austin-offered greatness. This place was GREAT! Very family friendly! It was our first time SUPing with my daughters 15 and 11. The instructor was very patient, thorough, fun and friendly. EpicSUP was the perfect choice for my first outing, and I can't imagine I'll go anywhere else. Went here for the first time on Sunday with husband, kids and dogs and had a great time. No trouble finding parking and the woman that was working there was great and very patient with us. We were able to come back and forth to the dock to switch out dogs for their first time paddle boarding. Will be coming back to this spot from now on. read more
