    Flourless chocolate cake

Ended up here for lunch and it did not disappoint. Surprised people don't talk about this place more, very nice inside and food was great. Our waitress Allexus was super helpful and nice. The flourless chocolate cake was also great.

First off! For this to be a high end Lebanese restaurant, the staff is very nice, from Valet to table. And, the owner came to check in 2 or 3 times to see if we are enjoying ourselves. We did! Thank you, Nicol On to this food, Excellent! We are a party of 5 girlfriends. We all loved everything! Appetizers, tabbouleh and spinach fatayer. So good! Entrees, 3 of us had the Sayadeya, aromatic grilled fish with vermicelli rice and grilled vegetables and special sauce on the side. All 3 plates cleaned, so good. Fee got Za'atar chicken and Matriarch got the lamb chops. We all were given a meal complimentary Fattoosh Salad. It's Pamela's birthday, she enjoyed the Olive Oil cake with citrus zest and Blueberry compote! SO GOOD! Y'all already know, this place is good and I'll be back.

Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food 4/5 Upscale Lebanese place with posh interior and many seating places. Nice staff, gorgeous restaurant. But the best Lebanese food is at the festival held by their church every year. Guess I got spoiled over there. The kanafa was 10/10 My shawarma was good but skimpy. Kibeh app good but small as well. The thing is if you grew up in a mosque and have a lot of Arab friends this won't cut it. Nothing beats home cooked abundance, love and flavor. This place would be a perfect place to introduce non MENA friends to Levant Arab cuisine. But shawarma is best street style made by an Amo who has 7 kids at home. Who gives you extra toom sauce and stuffs all the meat he can possibly stuff in your wrap. And gives you a well seasoned foam box of hot fries that could feed 8 people. Decent parking. Mocktails need improvement.

Had a 5:00pm reservation on a Wednesday. We ended up switching to sit in the bar area, as the happy hour specials are ONLY available at the bar. This is a bummer sometimes but we got to keep our amazing server, Kaitlynn. OMG, she was outstanding the whole visit. Ask for her! My friend and I split the whipped feta app ($8 HH) and also marinated olives( $8) to kick things off. We also ordered $10 drinks from the HH menu. I had red wine and my friend had a cocktail similar to a martini ( I guess). We enjoyed our beverages. The red wine was smooth and complemented my food wonderfully. We also sampled a Lebanese wine featured at Epice. It was quite tasty and I will definitely order a glass on my next visit. For our entrees, I had the meatballs and my friend had the rack of lamb. We both drooled over how delicious everything was!!! Portion sizes are spot on. We also had a side salad, it was very colorful/zesty and fresh. Straight delicious! The evening was wonderful in a very warm , modern atmosphere. The vibe here is amazing. Trust me! Last but not least - don't skip dessert! Olive oil cake will change your life. I ate my leftover cake for breakfast the next day. Safe to say, I will definitely be coming back to Epice because the experience was top notch!! FYI Parking wasn't an issue - there's street and private lot spaces available

Group dinner and we had a secluded table so it felt like we were all alone. The restaurant has some modern wood paneling set against lighting. Everything we had was delicious - hummus, falafel to start and we ordered more. I had the sayadeya and ate everything on ny plate. There are a variety of cocktails and wines available. Fittingly, I had a rosé from Lebanon. For dessert we ordered a couple of olive oil cakes and chocolate Torres to share. I think we were the last group there. Service was wonderful, the best we had at dinner in Brimingham over several days. Hope you get Taylor, too. Note that the bathrooms are shared with the office building.

Whipped feta. My fav dish at this place.

Saw that this place was within walking distance by my hotel and with the high overall ratings, decided to give it a try. Great service by both bartenders. Dinner started well with HH bites: whipped feta was lovely and liked the spicy kick added to their olives. Eastside cocktail was nice but colombe not so much: soda was overwhelming and I could hardly taste the tequila. Muhammara soup was ok but a bit too thick. Lahm entree was decent but I was expecting more. Overall a relatively nice experience.

THIS MEAL WAS DELICIOUS. I should have taken a photo of the cleaned plate afterwards. We had a reservation for 2 and ended up sitting at the bar. Excellent service. Food came quickly, complimentary valet (this was a Monday night), and good wine selection. The bar was fairly empty which made a nice ambiance for good conversation, but again, this was Monday night. But the meal I had was amazing. I will absolutely be returning to this place next time I'm in town.

Stopped into Epice for a quick lunch while shopping downtown. We enjoyed sharing a couple of small plates, including the kibi and cauliflower. So delicious! Amazing ambiance and fantastic service.

Beautiful beautiful restaurant. Very contemporary. I went for lunch with my mother and ordered a few dishes to share. We got the Al Raheb, the epice salad, and the lahmajin. All of the dishes were carefully curated and executed with care. The eggplant dip was delicious and the lamb was succulent and flavorful. The epice salad was nice and fresh although I didn't find it as flavorful as the other two dishes. Service takes a while so if you're looking for a quick lunch you may want to reconsider, but we weren't in a rush so it was totally fine. I will definitely come back for dinner. So glad to have a new Mediterranean restaurant in town! Healthy, fresh options!

Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The mezze were the star of the show. The Manoushi flatbread with za'atar and cheese was fabulous. Drinks were delicious, especially the Art Basil. The Arnabeeet was also very good, the cauliflower was flavorful and the beet tahini was very good. The falafel was alright but not worth ordering. The orange blossom rose rice pudding was unique and delicious for dessert. Sadly, I felt the entrees to be lacking in flavor across the board, and I tried 4 entrees. Splitting a bunch of mezze is probably the way to go.

Had to come eat at this place twice in one month during our visit to Birmingham. The ambience of the restaurant is sophisticated and similar to those in NYC. All the food was absolutely delectable. The falafel were perfectly crispy. My husband enjoyed the skewers. Our waitress was excellent and had a lot of insight on the menu.

What can I say about Epice... Epice, Epice, EPICE! I was truly impressed from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere is everything--cute, moody, sexy--with a cozy vibe, stylish decor, and comfortable seating that made me feel like I had stepped out of Birmingham entirely. It felt like a hidden gem tucked away in a much bigger city. We had reservations at the bar, and even there, the service was outstanding. Every interaction was warm and attentive without being overbearing. The General Manager even stopped by to check on us, which was a really nice touch. Now, the food--absolutely delicious. We shared the Hummus, Lahm, and Samak. Each dish was beautifully plated and full of bold, fresh flavors. We ended the meal with the olive oil cake and what I believe was a chocolate silk pie--both were the perfect sweet finish. Epice is definitely a place I'll return to, whether for a date night or a stylish dinner with friends. A standout in Birmingham's culinary scene.

Food first, thoughts after... This restaurant had by far one of the best atmosphere. The interior design was very elegant, spacious, and minimal but expensive. The food was delicious with fresh ingredients. The portion sizes small but overall perfect. You will leave feeling satisfied. I will definitely go back soon.

I liked the baba ghanoug and hummus, both of which seemed fresh, but I did not like the steak shawarma sandwich. The ingredients just didn't seem fresh. The steak was quite tough and chewy, and it didn't have a good taste. I wasn't sure what to think of the vegetables in the wrap. The pita wrap itself was a little dried out and, thus, on the tough and chewy side. I'm willing to give this place another shot and order something else only because hole-in-the-wall ethnic food places are my specialty.

Al's is right by UAB's campus and serves American and Mediterranean food. Their exterior is nice in theory, with a fountain and a pretty fence, but it needs some cleaning up. Their parking lot could also be better. It's a small lot hidden behind the building with some potholes and invisible parking lines. The interior is quite small, but they still have enough seating. I came in with the intention of trying a vegan menu item, but I was informed by a kind man working behind the desk that he wasn't sure what they had that was vegan. He asked another employee if they had falafel at the moment, but they didn't. He was very helpful, but I was still disappointed that they didn't have falafel since I've tried it before and enjoyed it. I continued to look at the menu and finally decided on the veggie burger. The price was nine dollars and some change, which was baffling to me as I only ordered the burger and nothing else. I only had to wait a couple of minutes for my order, and I took it to go. The burger was packaged with care, large in size, and had plenty of toppings. The burger tasted good and didn't have that weird taste that some vegetarian meat patties have. I really enjoyed the bun of the burger in particular since it was really soft, not soggy, and had lots of sesame seeds. The veggie burger is a pretty good vegetarian option on their menu!

The potatoes went much quicker than the rice; I had the potatoes and they were fantastic. There was also a tray of chocolate chip cookies provided. I don't think they were frash made; they looked similar to other restaurants generic chocolate chip cookies. They were a nice addition to the lunch, though.
