I was seen by Dr Westafer and he conducted a thorough eye exam and answered all my questions and concerns. His style is very direct but that's fine with me... not trying to be friends with my eye doctor. He referred me to an ophthalmology neurologist to support my specific issue and assuaged me that I really had nothing to be concerned about. I feel super confident in his exam and the diagnosis. I absolutely recommend this office and Dr Westafer to others. Such a great experience.

My first cataract surgery went so poorly that I waited 3 years before having my other eye done by Dr. W. Dr. Westafer is a very busy guy, but when he sees you, you have his complete attention. He explains everything and answers your questions fully. His office and surgical facility are state of the art as far as I can see. Lots of fancy equipment. Dr. F was extremely concerned about my eyes. I started out with about 7 different eye drops for the pressure and the tear. We decided to try an in office laser procedure to hopefully make my eyes drain better. Sadly, it did not work. We then decided to fix my cataracts, and while he was doing that, he did another procedure to help my eyes drain. Had my eyes done in October, with my vision now almost 20/20 and the pressure in my eyes is normal. I cannot recommend this practice enough, Reno Eye Institute is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the doctor, I could go on and on about him. He really cares about his patients. He made me feel like I was the most important patient at his practice. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

I will not be returning to this office for the lack of respect for my time. If patients are 15 minutes late for apts, the apt gets rescheduled or cancelled with a fee payable by the patient, however, if doctors over book or run behind there are no consequences.

We were scheduled within two weeks which was awesome. We got to meet with Dr. Macco, who was really friendly and along with her staff. They were diligent with scanning in our records from the previous doctor, doing all the routine eye exams, and helping us pick out eye glasses. They have more modern equipment than our last doctor, which is convenient so I don't have to go to a specialist too. They are located in the Bicycle shopping center, tucked in the back left corner. Their office has been open for a little over a year so they have a limited style selection of eye glasses. But it's a nice welcoming location with Lina and Vanessa to help as soon as you walk in. My husband was able to see Dr. Huntting for his annual check up and was also impressed with the modern technology they offered to do their exams with. What she found instead was that my cataracts had grown, and it was time for surgery. She then referred me to Dr. Caleb Morris at Nevada Eye Consultants. Nevada Eye Consultants is quite an operation, full of patients, doctors, and support staff. I was efficiently shuttled from room-to-room including another eye exam, some follow-up, 1:1 time with Dr. Morris, and the insurance person. This experience kind of reminded me of taking my then step-daughter to the Orthodontist to see if braces were required. The visit being 1 part Doctor and an equal part being treatment and financing options. I thought Dr. Morris was great and as another review rightly stated: From consultation to surgery day and follow up- professional, clean, communicative. Note that Surgery is done next door at the Eye Surgery Center of Northern Nevada.

No words of comfort or reassurance that it was okay, just a I want to be done with you. I kept still with tears flowing out of my eyes and felt so degraded, it was the most barbaric experience. It is a serious level of vulnerability trusting someone with your vision. In this case higher knowledge and skill set does not equate higher consciousness.

They gave me best & worst case scenario up front so there would be mystery about how I could feel after LASIK. They did not want me to have any surprises. The staff called me prior to my surgery to make sure I didn't have any questions or issues and to remind my of the prescriptions I needed to take and how to take them. My mom and daughter were able to watch the procedure while it happened (remote TV screen). The staff was accomodating to them and answered their questions as the procedure was happening. The next day my vision was examined at 20/15 with no issues at all. The staff at Nevada Eye Consultants is unbelievable!!!!! I am glad I trusted my eyes to them.
