We had…read moreoriginally purchased a cheap volleyball from Walmart but the stitches have started to come out after less than a year. Of course you get what you pay for. Went here as two acquaintances had only good things to say about Canuck Stuff. The prices for the official balls were also lower than places such as Sports Check etc. They sell anything related to volleyball, badminton, etc. The store was quite busy as there were a ton of people checking out shoes and other misc. things. One of the staff Mike was very helpful and helped me find the ball I needed. He asked if it's for outdoor beach and I had said yes. He actually recommended the Mikasa ball which our friend had told us about. I know there were a ton of outdoor beach vballs but we were already set on a particular one. The official Wilson AVP was $44.95. Places selling this usually charge up to $60 range. The price was low at Canuck Stuff as the ball comes flat and doesn't come in a box (they pump it up for you), but rather a light plastic bag to keep it clean & comes with a cloth bag. That's fine with me! Better for the environment. Mike was very patient and kind. Even though he was super busy, he took the time to find the ball as well as answer my questions. He also added a little extra air to the ball and later told me to let some out as it was to help with the shape since it had come inflated. Great service and product. We will definitely be back for any volleyball or badminton equipment. Parking might be tricky on a weekend but I was lucky and found a spot. The store is at the right end of the plaza.

They often have many styles of shoes on sale (last year's models but who cares?) and I love the bags they give you when you checkout. I use them as my volleyball bag.

Tip: This store has huge discounts on authentic sports apparel…read more For the longest time, I have wanted a Blue Jays jersey. When my friend from grade 7 and her husband had tied the knot several years ago, they wore matching Blue Jays jerseys (classic white home ones) to officially mark that they were a married couple. I went to a Jays game a few month back as part of a work event. I visited the Jays store. I found lots of jerseys. They were expensive starting at $300. I ended up getting a t-shirt that was more my price point. The Shopping Channel is running a sale on Jays apparel. There's a 15% discount. I found a jersey that I liked. It was $249. It was still ridiculously expensive for me to splurge. My goal: Find a Jays jersey that doesn't break the bank. I did a search. I found SVP Sports selling the same Jays jersey for $159. Nice! I didn't buy it online. I saw that this store had many jerseys available. I decided to pay this store a visit last Friday night. The SVP Sports store used to be at Woodside Square. It has since moved to a larger location at McCowan Road and Milner Avenue. It's in a plaza with Winners, Starbucks, Mr Sub, and more. It was raining. I parked fairly close to the building. I then walked into the store. Happiness was seeing powder blue jerseys on my right. They were indeed authentic Blue Jays jerseys. Yay! The original price was $200. It was indeed marked down to $159. There was a further reduction. This jersey was going for $79. One word: Wow! I wanted a jersey without any player's number on the back. I tried on two different sizes. As I was trying one of them on, a female sales associate asked if I needed any help. I let her know that I was okay trying on one of the jerseys. She was being helpful. I frankly wanted to be left alone to figure out my size. Sometimes, it's better to let the customer tell you whether she needs assistance and to leave her be. I found the jersey of my dreams. I was elated! There are change rooms at this store. I didn't need one, as it was easy to try on a jersey over my t-shirt that I was wearing. This store has a lot of merchandise that is heavily discounted. I saw NHL caps of all Canadian teams. It hit me that I don't own a Winnipeg Jets cap. I got one for $19. Unheard of! I lined up at the checkout. There were cameras everywhere. I suppose that prices are so cheap on sports clothing, caps, backpacks, and more that theft is an issue. I got a nice woman at the checkout. She asked if anyone had helped me. I said no. She apologized. She didn't need to. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was great. She let me know what the score was between the Jays and Mariners. It was game 5 in Seattle, with the Mariners leading by 1. Sadly, the Jays lost this game. However, the team ended up winning the entire series. I love my jersey and cap. They are comfy to wear and I didn't break the bank. I'd return for the deals. They are great. The quality of my purchases was excellent. (387)

Quebec Nordiques with their last season back in 1994/1995, that was over 20 years ago! There are also some "Vintage" NBA and MLB jerseys! If you do want something for casual shinny hockey maybe fine, as the price is good. I would not say it feels like shopping at Value Village, but you did need to go through a lot of merchandise to find something that you might want to pay for it. Security measure here is quite high. Seems like shoplifting has been a big problem for management?

We came at the end of the day on the New Year's eve and I forgot my purse when I was leaving. I only realized when I was on my way home when they called my husband's cell from my cell phone. So the Big K headed in first while I went to Dollarama nearby to waste some time. How long could buying a hockey stick take? I finally had to enter National Sports to investigate the Big K's disappearance and within record time I was greeted by a very friendly salesperson who not only found The Big K for me, but three perfectly wonderful, very expensive hockey sticks that could significantly improve The Big K's game (and in sum total cost more than my dishwasher.) After much careful consideration, The Big K finally settled on "just one" (thank goodness) from this neatly organized and well-stocked store. I rushed the Big K with stick in hand to the check-out (in an effort to prevent him from buying anything else.) Even the cashier was super-charming and personable and made paying the large bill less painful. Final words: bring lots of cash. This store is conducive to shopping.

Some showers have been broken for years (like the handheld one). I can only talk for the staff in the women's only hours of Sundays. They open late, they claim not having "enough staff" to man the different pool areas, when you can see up to four or five people hanging out at the office area of the pool on their phones or eating. How much of a break they need if they only work for 1 hr 45 mins? None of them look athletic or like they even know how to swim. They are always eating. If it is a long weekend they kick us out early, with the excuse of "it's a long weekend and people need to be with their families", one day they kicked us out with no excuse only vaguely alleging "it's a fire hazard" and they were expecting us to go outside in our bathing suits and "wait there", many women refused and one said "I'm getting my stuff, call the cops if you want". The level of the staff is downright horrible, they are useless and talk down to the people as if they were simple. That is a community center, not jail or the military, they are not "in charge of us", they work there and we pay with our taxes. They should start charging a small fee for people to attend and make these clowns accountable, they are there to work, not to be on the phone and eat and yell at each other and people attending
