AEO had my back on all of these issues with some 'plain' stretch jeggings that were a great fit, comfortable and still stylish. I actually picked up two pairs since it was buy one get one 50% off. I was helped by a cheerful gentleman that told me about the sale in the first place when I first walked into the store. He also helped me with a fitting room since these are locked, and finally with checking out. There were actually a lot of employees at checkout but it seemed like there were two seasoned employees training two new ones. The gentleman that helped me was really holding down the fort for everyone and was very friendly and polite to boot!

The very first Roots store that I ever set foot into was at Eaton Centre. I don't think that it was…read morelocated where this Roots store is, on the third floor, near Nordstrom, by the escalator. However, it brought back a bunch of memories when I had a bit of time to kill a few Saturdays ago before attending a concert at Massey Hall. I was in grade 8 when I bought two items at Roots. One was a cheerful green sweatshirt with a small Roots logo with the beaver on the front. The other was a lilac t-shirt. It was long, with the Roots Athletic logo on the front. I didn't wear huge logos on my clothing until I got this t-shirt. It was quite the shift. I dropped by this Roots store to check it out. It looks small from the storefront. However, when you walk in, you realize that it has three floors. There is even an elevator to get to to the floor that you want, if you need it. Otherwise, there are stairs. Perhaps reminiscing about beavers was on my mind, but I felt that everything that I picked up at first was beaver-related. I loved the beaver slippers. They felt nice and cozy. I wondered about washing them and whether it would ruin that soft feeling. I then picked up a beaver plushie. It was wearing the cutest Roots hoodie. I've never owned a Roots hoodie. Should I? I have always been a fan of the mitts here. I found a pair that were made of recycled materials. They were cool. I may need to return and get them. To this day, I still have two leather items that have endured over the years. The first is a small black purse that I had all through high school, into university. I haven't used it since, but it still looks great. The other is a brown backpack that I have travelled with between Toronto and Winnipeg. I also don't use it, but it still looks good. The leather has weathered well over time. It was nice stepping into a Roots store. I typically hit outlet stores these days, but it was nice to browse and throw me back to being a Roots fan from years past. It offers classic items, which suit my style. It's a loft-like space with lots of natural light and really well decorated. One thing that set it apart immediately, is it doesn't have that thrift store smell. They're true to their word that they're only selecting good quality items. Sure, some of the items are perhaps a bit plain, but you don't have to take too long to find a few things you'll like. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. I found out at the counter that this is actually a franchise as part of a fairly large chain (which I hadn't previously heard of). Regardless, they're a very unique and welcome edition to the city.

Their clothes are so nice and they have great colours for tops, blouses, shorts, summer dresses and pants. I ended up with 4 items my first time around and I also bought a summer dress and I rarely , if ever wear a dress! My sister ended up buying 4 items as well and when we went back 2 weeks later and we got more stuff! Her summer selection is great, her prices are very reasonable and we can't wait to go and buy more items.
