Pay attention to what they start adding on your mani/ pedi. The only up charge I didn't catch was her "asking" me if I wanted my calluses removed. All she did was motion her hands and say "it's okay?" I assumed she was just asking if it was okay to start. Even if I actually wanted a $15 sorry excuse of a "callus removal" which was her scratching her nails on my legs with sugar scrub, I still wouldn't have paid for such a horrible polish job. Very expensive. I felt ripped off at the end. I'm a guy and just got a basic manicure. Well the service was good I would not expect to have been charged $40. I go to a different place on Gladstone and I pay $35 for a manicure and pedicure. I popped into this place because it was later in the evening and it was still open, never again. I don't understand how they can justify that when normally men's manicure is anywhere between $12 and $16, and they are charging the same amount for a manicure that they do for a pedicure. read more

Always pleased with my manicure and pedicure. I've been a client here for years and I usually just walk-in for services. I love their deluxe option for manicure and pedicure - so relaxing and worth the extra $! I always had positive experiences with all the ladies and gentlemen who work there, they are professional and work with attention to detail and in good timely manner - I have never been rushed out of the chair (like some or most Nail Salons do) and in my opinion the people who work at Epic Nails truly care about the quality of their work. I like their new comfortable chairs, and the massager. Also their backgroud music is nice and relaxing - there is a bit of chit chat among the staff, but it's never loud. I highly recommend this place to all, and in my opinion is better if you go early on the week when there are not big waves of people waiting for services. Epic Nail service for sure! Happy Friday! I've been going to "Epic Nails" for as long as I can remember, so I thought about writing a 5 Star review today. Located in the City of Sylmar, on Glenoaks & Hubbard. There is always plenty of parking spots, but I like parking towards the back just to avoid all the traffic/people shopping at Smart & Final & Walgreens. I am a very simple girl when it comes to my nails, all I need to be happy is a gel manicure...& I kinda always go with the same colors...so yeah, I am an easy customer. I really don't mind which lady does my nails, I don't have a favorite one, as long as they are fast & do a good job. My sister on the other hand is the pickiest one, she likes her nails long, acrylic & perfect, so she always request the same girl. Tip for the business: The place could be a little cuter & maybe even a little cleaner. Tip for you: ALWAYS schedule an appointment. If you have a favorite girl, you can also request. Writing this review on behalf of my sister, she was treated very rudely by the worker doing her mani & pedicure, she was being given very dirty looks, and noticed the whispers the lady doing her service was given. By the end of the appointment when she was trying to get up from the chair the lady denied her her socks until she tipped, which she of course did not mind but the lady literally shoved a card telling her she HAD to tip praticly bribing her for he socks back. The lady that did my toe nails cut part of my skin, it was bleeding non stop, she put 2 different drops to stop the bleeding without telling me what she was applying on my toe, she would not stop until I told her that she was hurting me. WASTED 60$ these are the ugliest nails I've ever got. Horrible shape, uneven and crooked!!!! I asked for an ombré short almond. I ended up with huge nails she said would be shorter when they're done. The ombré was nothing close to an ombré, it was patchy and uneven. I had to ask for polish to cover it up. She left acrylic residue all over my fingers and made my cuticle bleed and even giggled about it. I'm convinced she was insane or evil, one of the two. Stay away from this place. This place does OK nails,and they are very pricey, but the service is horrible, I went in for a full set and pedi, the pedi looked horrible the polish didn't even look professional, the lady that did my full set cut me in 3 different fingers and didn't even Acknowledge that she cut me, clearly I was bleeding and never apologized or said anything acted like nothing happened, but before that when I walked in there was like 5-6 people doing absolutely nothing but sitting and sleeping, the service is horrible thats all I have to say. Firstly, the lady drilled my old gel with the wrong drill bit & made my nails thin, she was rough on taking out dead skin & would awkwardly laugh & look up at me when she was DIGGING into my corners for absolutely nothing that was there. My nails on my big toes were completely different sizes, I couldn't tell in the moment because she was hurrying to finish up so I didn't get a chance to even see my toes. The polish itself was applied so unevenly it looked very bubbly, a lot of these women are UNEDUCATED on proper drill bits to use & how to apply polish & maintenance of cuticles.
