Solid! 4/5 The Epic Eatz truck was back in the neighborhood and boy am I glad I decided to grab something. Luckily for me, my job subsidizes our lunches so I was able to score a combo burrito, flaming hot funyuns, which I love, and a can of Pepsi for $5. Now that's what I'm talking about. Unfortunately the wait times were really long, and I was unable to order food during my actual lunch. But, since they hung around for several hours, I was quickly able to score my food during my break. Since I wouldn't have time to eat during break, I decided to bring the burrito home for dinner. The first thing I noticed about the burrito was that it was a pretty good size. You never know what you're going to get with a food truck but I was pleased with what I received. Once I cut into the combo burrito, I noticed there was a good meat to filler ratio. That's always something I look for. The combo burrito came with tender carne asada, rice, beans, and I believe a delicious chipotle sauce. Although the carne was a bit on the salty side (a number of coworkers said the same), it was tasty. My girlfriend and I were able to share the burrito with some chips and we were satiated. I really liked their spicy salsa, however they had mostly run out so I only received the last couple drops, I'd say about 1/4-1/3 of a container worth. Again, the salsa was bomb so I'm hoping they bring more next time. The rice and beans were also tasty. This was actually my second time ordering from the truck and both times I was happy with what I received. I think the actual burrito cost would have been $13 without my discount. First time having food from this truck and I was blown away by the freshness and flavors. We were treated for lunch as volunteers for a non profit organization and I tried their S.A.M. (Shrimp, asparagus and mushroom) quesadilla. So, so good but a little on the spicy side. They also made me a side of fresh tortilla chips with salsa verde and both were also bomb. Highly recommend! The Epic Eatz food truck was downtown and seemed like a good idea for lunch. Sadly it wasn't. I ordered the three taco plate for $10. One each Al Pastor, Pollo Asada and Carne Asada. *The Al Pastor was decent. Definitely the highlight. I mean the "highlight" comparatively speaking, it didn't have much competition. *The carne was cooked well, nice and tender, but it was woefully under seasoned. It had almost zero flavor. Just meat in a tortilla with some sauce on it. No bueno. *The Pollo was terribly salty. Wow! S a l t y! Dry, salty chicken. Not good. Actually worse than not good. Inedible. Threw it out. Coworker also had a three taco plate. She chose Pollo, Al Pastor and a Fish taco. *Al Pastor: See above. *Pollo: See above. She, too, threw hers out. *Fish: A little piece of fish in a whole lotta' batter. Once she made it through the batter to actually get a bite of the fish, it was overcooked and dry. A little piece of fish enveloped is a greasy ball of breading. We had to ask for salsa. We ordered tacos! Who doesn't include salsa with tacos? C'mon now! I got the Cali Fries with three meats- no extra charge for not having my decision made! It's a decent sized plate for the price. Filled to the brim with all of the toppings ! The meat was a tad bit over salted, but still good nonetheless. There's lots of cheese and avocado, which is a good thing in my book! A friend and I went to Booz Brother's Brewery to try their brews. Both of us were hungry so we decided to try the food truck that was there. I don't know the full scope of what happened and I know that food is costly for small business owners like these, but the way it was handled sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. Instead of just apologizing, the chef sort of antagonized the customers who had already decided to accept their misordered/incorrectly entered food. The fish itself was decent and fresh, toppings were alright. The Tortillas were soggy and I actually ended up just eating the fish dipped into the salsa. It was about even with a certain chains Baja fish taco, but the chef kind of scared me off from coming back- should they be on the monthly truck rotation. People have bad days and all but it made those of us waiting uncomfortable to watch the attitude that came with it. We rented this truck for a work breakfast event and I was so impressed with how they effortlessly handled the crowd and efficiently made each order. We each waited no more than 5 or so minutes. Overpriced for just ok food. I ordered 9 tacos for $4. A piece. Tacos are small and not very flavorful, kinda bland to tell the truth. Anyway recived my tacos and they gave me two small pieces of lime. I like lime on my tacos, so I asked for more he replied that he couldn't because the didn't have anymore. So I continued to tell him that I just spent 80 bucks with them and only then did he somehow "find" more limes. He gave me like three more pieces. The truck just looks beaten and there was cardboard littering the front of it. If I hadn't read some of the reviews and knew they were decent, I probably would have eaten elsewhere. The look was a bit akin to walking into a restaurant and noticing it needs a paint job along with some organization. I believe this truck has been in business for a while. He recently served my wedding, and from the second he got there, it was a snowball effect of problems. He did not start service at the time requested by my wife and I. Therefore, when my guests started ordering no food was prepped and ready to be served. As for the food service he promised 2-3 minute wait times for orders, I had guests that waited upwards of 90 MINUTES for their orders! I had guests complain that the were not given full portions, and incorrect orders. We had one guest receive and Steak and Shrimp bowl..SHE WAS VEGAN! The owner is dishonest, confrontational, and some guests said his food truck was the worst part of the night. It was a good size, not huge, would have done nice with a dollop of creama, the three tacos were good as well, the fish was fresh and then chicken was well seasoned, no salsa bar, dont know if they have some fresh salsa. The food tasted amazing! However, if you are looking for someone to cater an event I would look elsewhere. A week before my wedding I was asked about my deposit as to when I had sent it to him (as soon as I booked with him) (over a year from our wedding date) and was not the best communicator as to what happened. He said he couldn't find it and then wouldn't respond when I sent him proof and asked if he found it. Eventually, it got fixed after me hounding him for answers. However, it sent me into straight panic as it was a week before my wedding and we had no other food options so close to our date. Horrible communication. He was amazing in the beginning but as it got closer to our date there were more and more problems arising with communication. I was also promised he would bring his food truck to our wedding to have there as part of our agreement but when I asked him about it again a few weeks before the wedding he said it was already booked elsewhere on my date. (We had to postpone our wedding another 3 months due to covid) he was great when we had to move our date because of covid but never mentioned that the truck was already booked that day until it was too late and never mentioned we wouldn't get the same services as promised on our previous date. We were also met with rudeness when we went to get served as they didn't have utensils out (they promised to bring those) and when we asked where they were they responded "well isn't there some over there" (those were the limited forks we purchased for the cake only as we didn't need to purchase for food as they mentioned). They did go back to their van and brought some out but it was a bit frustrating that we were promised all the utensils needed and were met with rudeness when we asked where they were after making our plates.
