My sister-in-law thought it would be cool idea to get some of the lemon ricotta cookies individually wrapped to include as favors for my mother-in-Lawʻs 90th birthday. She ordered them and we picked them up. The energy was a bit unnerving. When we arrived at the store there was not a soul in the front. After making "people" noises to try and get some help, a disinterested young lady made her presence known. Not the friendliest of souls, she reminded me of a gothic being of times gone by. Luckily, the order was ready so we didnʻt have to take more of her time as I am sure she wanted to get back to her seance in the back room. I bought a few extra cookies because I had never tasted them before. I am not Italian so I did not grow up eating these cookies. Therefore, my review of them might not be fair. My husband said they were so-so. What I found was a texture similar to a Chinese tea cookie; soft and unflavored. There was just a hint of lemon but otherwise it was as drab as a Ouija board and just as tasteless as what one would expect if you had actually eaten the board. A positive was that the cookies were sealed in a plastic envelope and fit perfectly into the dipping bowls each guest received. I surmise that had the interaction with the staff been more positive and flowed like great customer service should, the review might have been different. but like the cookie, it left me longing for something other than drab, tasteless, limp, gothic black. read more

There was a rich, buttery flavor throughout that didn't seem too much. And oh how I loved the ooey gooey chocolate. The cupcakes were exquisite. Definitely on the richer side so if you don't like all that cream, maybe skip them. It's also a big bite trying to fit cookie and cupcake into your mouth, but so worth it! The Oreo Cupcake is a killer, it sends you into chocolate heaven. I loved the Peanut Butter one too, a nice play with the vanilla cake on the bottom. My best friend and I were having an amazing day. We decided to go to Epic Cookies in somerville. She wanted to get a specific cookie, but they were all out. We decided to split the price of an M&M cookie. We bought it and sat down to enjoy. We broke the cookie apart to eat and it was very mushy. Upon further inspection, it was either completely raw or severely undercooked. There was an apple pie filling consistency and we were appalled by it. We told a blonde female worker and she gave us a new M&M cookie hoping it was just that specific one. We opened it, and it was also raw. We did eat a lot of it before we realized it was. We told a male worker and he opened another cookie and it was also raw. He offered to replace it but we were already feeling grossed out. He also made us pay for the waters while we were freaking out. I get its company standard but still. We were very appalled and will not be going back. I asked what cookie flavors were there and she said "go look at the poster above", pointing to it. I said I can't tell what they are from the picture as the lighting is dim near the cookies. In any case she was almost invisible, didn't bother to even greet us. We had to walk around to find her and it wasn't like was in a back room, she could care less that we were there. Sadly can't recommend. I can bake decent cookies so I rarely buy them at bakeries. BUT because this shop specializes in COOKIES I wanted to support them. The sugar cookie had a great flavor, but I think it was old, the chocolate chip has no chips in it, it has odd smears of chocolate, and no flavor. I wonder if they gave me the wrong cookie? CC cookies are pretty standard, this was not a good CC cookie. Then the cupcake was absolutely rock hard. They had to know it was stale when they packed it. It got tossed it without eating. They definitely need someone to work in Quality control. Negative stars for use of plastic containers.
