For us this is a little drive 30-40 minutes however, it is well worth the drive. The food is a step above the average for this area. The wait staff always makes you feel like they are glad you're dining with them. This goes for lunch and dinner. If available don't pass up the BIG pretzel. The division of the bar and band area from the main dining room makes for pleasant conversation even with music in the background. Unfortunately for us our trips will fewer for the nest few months due the road winding between Blairsville and Young Harris. It's unfortunate that the Georgia DOT can't do a better job with the traffic. I can remember I-285 going from 2 to 4 lanes; then to 5 lanes and while doing this traffic was slower it was never impeded as much as the work going on now between Blairsville and Youn Harris. read more

Service was so rude that I could not recommend it to anyone. We were at the JC Campbell Folk School and had to grab a quick lunch. A very nice lady from the wellness center across from the school suggested we go to Epic since the restaurant across from the school only serves dinner. We ordered our food to go since we only had a short time and chose something that could be made quickly along with a few desserts. We were happy that the food did come quickly and since there was time, hardly anyone in the restaurant and we needed to eat, we asked if it was okay if we stay at the table we'd waited at and have some food before driving back. The waitress said, " It's not normally something we do, but go ahead" as if she was extremely unhappy about it. I was confused and said, "What?". She continued, "Well, if an owner comes in, they may ask you to leave". I was shocked. I said, "We spend our money here and can't sit here just because we asked for it to go?". Her comeback was, "Well, what was the point in the to-go containers we wasted?" I couldn't believe that she would even bring that up to a paying customer. We already knew we wouldn't finish and would take the rest to go. And, shockingly, I believe she was right. A lady who I believe was the owner walked by and mumbled something to her and she said, "That's what I said!". I could be wrong, but I believe that she had asked her, "Why are they eating to-go in?" Well after much digging, in desperation to find breakfast besides Huddle House, I found that this place has a few breakfast options! They don't open until 10:30 but it's worth the wait. Food always very, very good, whether I order it on their special meals day or just drop in to take some home. I have only eaten inside once but there is adequate space to do so. So good!! This place came highly recommended by locals for us to check out. We are huge foodies and healthy eaters, so we were excited! I made the mistake of showing up on a Saturday morning-- but they were closed lol. (Closed sat). So we came for Sunday brunch! We showed up right at 9:30, out of fear that it might fill up fast. It steadily got busy but wasn't overflowing. They did have many reservation cards set on tables though. The whole menu sounded delicious (and looked it, from their IG pics). But sadly I just had my wisdom teeth out and can't chew much lol. I opted for the shrimp and grits, and oh my-- so delicious! So much flavor!! The chorizo tomato sauce they put in there made the dish! I licked the bowl clean. My son got the quiche of the day: bacon, collard greens, onions, and was topped w an ancho chili sauce and feta cheese. He got the sauce on the side. He didn't love it, due to the collard greens lol. Picky picky. But I thought it was great! It came with huge slices of fresh fruit, which he loved. We got a side of potato pancakes. DELICIOUS! He ate those up! The outdoor patio was nice w the view of the mountains. Our waitress was great and super patient. We chatted awhile with a nice local lady seated next to us. At the end of our meal, I was told she had paid for our meal already before she left!! I was so shocked! What a sweetheart!! Thank you so much! It made my day. We will be back whenever we're in town. Lots of people waiting for seating, we were told 35 minutes but within 10 we had a nice table by the window. Our server was pleasant and had a sense of humor too. What a great lunch! This was my first time at Epic. It was a rainy day, and the grilled cheese with ham and apples sounded like comfort food. It was really tasty, and a dish I would certainly order again. My side was the sweet potato salad. I loved it. My friend ordered the salmon and chicken chili soup. She loved it, and the portions were just the right size. Our server was very attentive. I live 20 minutes from this restaurant; it is worth the drive. Get there early; even with the rain, there was a wait for those arriving at 12:30 p.m. Returned several months later - still awesome! Get there early to avoid a waLoved the chicken croissant. Sunday at 1pm. 20 minute wait. Friendly and hustling staff. Seemed like a number of repeat customers because staff knew their names. The place smelled like chemical cleaning product when entering. Sat down to a dirty table so we asked for it to be wiped. Staff was helpful but it smelled worse of cleaning product. That made it difficult to enjoy the meal. Monte Cristo was ok. Dry. Garden Benedict with cheese grits was good. Cheese grits best thing on the table. It was bustling, so lots of waiting. If I went back I'd try to eat outside when they're less busy. read more

There are a handful of good restaurants in the tri-state area that serve unique, delicious, and not-southern-fried food and Epic Catering and Eatery is one of them. It's one of my favorite restaurants for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I've never had a bad meal and service is always perfect. I can't say I have a favorite dish at Epic because everything is delicious. There is a take-away menu posted on Monday for Tuesday evening. When I don't want to cook, I pick up salads, soups, and entrees to last a couple days. Oh, the coffee!! I usually don't like restaurant coffee, but Epic serves the best cup of coffee. Epic is my happy place. read more

Epic was awesome!! Had been wanting to stop in and try it since it opened! We came on a Sunday and were provided with the special brunch menu. I had the shrimp and grits with a winter quinoa salad on the side. Both were awesome!! My mom had the bagel and smoked salmon entree with fruit and my boyfriend had the multigrain waffle, bacon, and grits. We were all very impressed with the trendy and calming decorations and lighting, the friendly atmosphere, and the inventive and high-quality food. You MUST stop in and try this place whether you're local or just passing through. ***The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because if you come for brunch on Sunday, nearly every menu option is egg based with the exception of the Reuben and shrimp&grits I believe. Im updating this review. We went back k for the second visit today!We just discovered this gem. It is a catering business which also serves weekday lunch From 11 -2. We had the meatloaf sandwich with roasted sweet potato salad and a soup and quiche combo with veggie soup. The sandwich was so good I would have been tempted to deconstruct it to enjoy the tomato! Loved the quiche with a delicate crust and fluffy custard loaded with treats. Our lunch bill for two including tip was around $25. We will be back and would not hesitate to use the business to cater an event. There is plenty of parking available with room for RVs. Our only note for improvement was the wait staff. Our waitress could not answer questions about the menu, was the sausage Italian in the meatball soup? " I don't know" Could I have a cheese other than american on my meatloaf sandwich? "American cheese or no cheese". She also first told us two sides with the sandwich and then corrected it to only one. It gave me the feeling she was not secure enough to ask questions in the kitchen and that she had not fully learned the menu but wouldn't just say so. Despite that bumpy service, the food made up for it. I have noted that the restaurant does specials, I missed the Pho and hope it comes around again. The day we were there it was an Italian wrap with pesto cream cheese and it looked delicious. Second visit: Today was extra busy, so much so that the wait staff was having trouble keeping up. They were working as a team, and the chef even. came out to bus tables. It was so worth the few minute wait. I got my Pho today. The beef broth was hearty and still delicate. The rice noodles were perfect, the beef tender. I loved it. My husband had the chicken salad salad. It was just soooooo good. The servings were generous, so much so that I'll be having soup tomorrow as leftovers. My husband did say he would have liked a little fresh fruit with the salad. We tried Epic Eatery based on the recommendation of the owners of the Air BNB where we stayed for the weekend. We went Saturday but they were closed. We went back on Sunday and they had a Sunday brunch menu. I loved the menu and had the roasted sweet potato bowl. It was incredibly good. My husband is more of a country breakfast person and had a hard time finding something on the menu. He ended up ordering the biscuits and gravy, a side of scrambled eggs and a side of bacon. The biscuits are not actually biscuits, they are yeast roles covered in gravy. Because the eggs and bacon were sides ($5.00 each), our bill was just shy of $50, not including tip. I would recommend this cute little restaurant for those who like a unique menu and dishes but not for those who like a country breakfast. read more

I used to really like this place precovid. Then something in the kitchen changed. The food is no where near the quality and taste it used to be. I keep trying and the last 3 visits have been a disappointment. From the tasteless watery vegetable stew on special one day, the grit bowl that had an unusual flavor, to their strange version of a Cuban sandwich. I've eaten lots of them and never saw one with a patty of minced, yes minced, pork reformed into a patty. It was like a layer of toddler food that was falling out of the sandwich and very unappealing. They do a good bagel so that's why the 2 stars, so I guess I'll stick to the bagels if my friend invites me to return. Wish the previous person was in the kitchen. read more

This place is a "hidden" gem. It's not truly hidden, as it's right there off the main road...but there is no sign out by the road. So I lived here for a couple months and never noticed it. Then I noticed it, and saw it on Yelp, but they're only open for lunch. Im always working, but I finally made it a point to go there today, and I ordered two items so I could have them for lunch and dinner. At the recommendation of the person at the desk, I got the patty melt on the everything bagel. So good. Tons of flavor, and very unique. I also got the mashed potato open faced sandwich with the meatloaf and gravy. It was also excellent (and a huge portion). For my sides, I go the broccoli salad and the soup of the day, which was Italian sausage and lentil. Everything was truly delicious. Will definitely be on my regular list. read more
