We asked R. Volpe Builders to rebuild our front porch. They came to our home to review our request…read moreand sent an estimate itemizing the job on 11/12/2022. The estimate included removing the flooring, installing new flooring, paint, brick work, etc. Months went by before we heard from them! We asked for a contract which was promised and eventually provided after many requests. After asking for some minor changes to the contract R. Volpe sent us a note saying his schedule was to busy and they could not start our job. That was on 3/12/2024, 16 months after sending the estimate! I try to be understanding, things don't always go as planned and there are many factors that contribute to a successful outcome but 16 months with hardly any communication is poor business practice. R. Volpe Builders may be good craftsman but their business communication and follow up is wholly inadequate! Thomas W.

Insisting I pay more money just because the materials needed for the promised work was miscalculated is against NJ law as well.

I don't respond to this message and the next day when he's suppose to show up to the property, he's texting me that he's going to be an hour late because the other truck is in traffic, then texts again that his guys must be pranking him. Does not come to the door to introduce himself at 7am, instead he starts yelling "hello" from across my lawn because he spotted an open window. I went outside to tell him my child was sleeping and to please not yell across the property while working. Only for him to tell his boss and my landlord that him and his worker were being yelled at the entire time they were working. Happy to share the Ring camera footage of my reasonable request to be considerate of my small child sleeping. Chris leaves without saying anything to me and I come out to my yard to see that he did not "trim a few branches" be butchered half my tree down to the trunk and then discarded the entire tree on the back side of my house so it would take longer for me to notice and complain. Well I noticed and I'll be making sure the rest of South Jersey knows to steer clear of this company.
