From my…read moreexperience it was few and far between my therapist paid attention or seemed interested in what I had to say about MY symptoms or questions on exercises. Overall interactions were unprofessional for someone who is supposed to be there for the patient. The receptionists I interacted with were rays of sunshine and inviting/called you by your name. I can't speak highly enough about their demeanor. Also Tony, one of the therapists, seemed very friendly and professional with his clients. If I were to give the location a 2nd chance it would be with him. If you choose STAR then keep in mind you may have to be your best advocate, not the person who's job is to help guide you.

I found Discoveries counseling because she specializes in an area I'm looking to get help with. 1st impressions, this is an old house that looks like a country cabin that has been converted into several offices. WAY COOL. You walk in, there's a kitchen with tea and coffee for everyone (yes patients to) and then the waiting room. The waiting room is like something out of a rustic retreat. Fireplace, log cabin decor, a 5 foot tall moose carved out of wood and a window looking over a country garden. Talk about relaxing. In the winter the fire place is often on and there's something about a fire place in a room like this that makes me think warm thoughts and fuzzy bunnies bouncing in the snow. Peggy, eh...hemm... Dr Peggy Derivan is great. "We" call her Peggy as that's what I'm comfortable with.. When you stop to think about it she doesn't look like a Peggy but that didn't occur to me until sitting down to write this review. I've seen a number of therapists (yeah I'm totally wacko) and many of them are like stiff boards and give the impression that you should be strapped to a metal table and poked and prodded. Not Peggy. She's like the cool aunt that has your favorite ice cream on hand when your bff and you have a fight. I meet ppl for a living and Peggy has a presence that puts you at ease and a smile that is as genuine as they come. Her office is one of many practices in this place and while walking there, the house is so cozy and log cabin like, it's very relaxing. On your 1st meeting she tells you a bit about her and why she does what she does. Her office is small but comfortable and has a nice scent to it (you have no idea how much scent effects your life) Without getting into why I'm here I will say she's very knowledgeable and has been super helpful. I see her solo and with my wife when we need it. Like I said, she's like the cool aunt (not the one who talks to her flowers, the other one). A great therapist will tell you, that you have to be comfortable with them or it won't work. Peggy pus me at ease and is the best therapist I've ever seen (I've seen 5). Give her a try, if you liked this review you won't be disappointed, .

After waiting months for the symptoms to "fade away" my ENT recommended I undergo a balance test and then recommended physical therapy for the BPPV. After a bit of searching for someone skilled with BPPV (Vestibular rehabilitation) I discovered Leah Valvo at Kulp Therapy in Victor NY and I'm so glad I did. Leah proved to be very knowledgeable and skilled regarding BPPV and my path to recovery and coming "out of the woods" was achieved. I can't say enough regarding her strategic thinking, patience in the process and commitment to my restoration. Anyone who has dealt with BPPV, dizziness, vertigo etc. knows the exhaustion and vulnerableness that accompany it. I can highly recommend her and the staff at Kulp Therapy to help bring about a return to "normal life". Thank you, Leah and Kulp Therapy !!

I'm acupuncture's newest best friend. I tell everyone I know that it's one of the best things you…read morecan do for your body. It has helped so much with my overall health, balance, stress relief and a past knee injury. I do yoga often and consider the two to go hand in hand. It's a great way to let go of life's normal stresses and meditate or try to rest your thoughts during your visit. I first tried out acupuncture after hearing from a friend that it helped her so much with stress reduction and relaxation. I thought hey, might as well try it out. I started back in October and have been going on the regular ever since. Heather is the owner and acupuncturist. I love her - she's friendly and sweet, makes you feel comfortable, and knows her stuff when it comes to any question you might have about your body and if acupuncture can help (it usually can). I always feel wonderful after my treatments and my knee pain is virtually gone now. Many health insurance plans allow for half price treatments for a certain number of visits, which makes it much more cost effective. Heather can answer those questions too. Also, the rooms are cozy and warm. You have the option to listen to soothing music, which I prefer to drown out other sounds and it's good white noise. She often has an additional heat lamp going. I believe it helps to accelerate the release of heat from whatever area is causing you trouble (in my case my knee). For those of you fearing needles, these are nothing. They are about the thickness of a strand of hair so you barely feel anything. What you will feel is relaxed and relieved of pain afterward. When I have a tricky spot that's been problematic, it will feel tingly as the needles unblock the acupuncture point. Trust me on this, it's amazing. I highly recommend it!

I also found that it has helped me manage a myriad of other smaller ailments, and I feel so much better after my treatments. I see Christine (Not sure if that's the right spelling- sorry!) and she has been great! She has a calming effect on me, and that's good, because I'm sometimes a little too worked up. I really appreciate the Chinese massage that accompanies the acupuncture. When I leave I feel nice and relaxed and pain free. They do accept some insurances, so take advantage of that if you can. It has made the decision for me so much easier! Their location is also perfect for me - right off 104 in Webster. I usually make my appointments in the evening and can go after work on my way hope. Super convenient. Initially I was wary of acupuncture, but then you experience things in life that make you open up to something different. I'm not happy about pain, but I'm happy that I was able to find a place that has helped me manage it and feel more normal, balanced, and healthy. I highly recommend checking out Stokes Acupuncture!
