When people get injured whether at work or at home and the doctor suggests physical therapy, "heed"…read moretheir advice. I've been injured a few times and ended up in therapy. And it isn't always pleasant when first getting started but listen to your therapist and stick with it. It may not totally alleviate the problem, but it arrest a lot of pain, discomfort. After this most recent injury, I was advised to get therapy. I had attended Lattimore Physical Therapy on Culver in 2017 with success, but discovered a new one on Hudson avenue. I called and made arrangements. And I may add the office staff, Michelle and Emily know and do their jobs with precision! Lattimore is a very well run, successful business. It was founded by a husband and wife team, Mr. and Mrs. Shuman, back in 1992 approx.. They have 27 locations in several counties. All of the employees have a good education. I found this clinic to be very unique. They were the most professional and caring Therapist's, very concerned with their patients and how to help them recover. And it was a happy atmosphere. All the therapists knew the patients names, made a point to say hello, asked how you were doing, how was your weekend, etc. And they shared their experiences with you too. They're a warm and friendly group. Another thing that impressed me was if your main therapist was tied up with another patient, the other therapists would immediately intervene and keep things going. Teamwork at its finest! Currently at this Lattimore there were 4 full time therapists. All of them hold "Doctorates" degrees in physical therapy. Lindsey a Co-Owner, *Rachel*, Shannen and Connor. Connor was the newcomer. He joined near the end of my 2 month rehabilitation. No picture yet, but soon. Lattimore is also involved with local colleges and training programs. I think it's safe to say they're scouting to continually to bring in well trained therapists. On a final note,, during my 2 months of rehabilitation, I saw many patients come and go. And during conversation with them, some of these people lived in different towns, had different experiences at other Lattimore's, but had heard good things about this particular Lattimore and chose to come here. This speaks within itself. Lattimore helped me once again! :), I'm glad I chose this one. https://www.lattimorept.com/west-irondequoit-physical-therapy

And then we all came home for the pandemic and I stopped wearing shoes on my wooden floors (no cushioning) AND started doing Barre-exercise (like ballet, up on toes and ball of foot), which made that pinched nerve so aggravated, that I walked funny on my ankle to accommodate. Which led to my calf getting weird b/c of the ankle ... which led to my knee getting weak and sloppy to accommodate the calf and ankle and pinched nerve and now-healed-broken-toe. Then my hip was affected, and next thing you know, the sciatic nerve is involved and I've got lower back pain! The checkin was friendly and as expected. I met with AJ HANABURGH who listened to me explain the symptoms and verified. I heard much of the same that my primary Dr. told it may be, but AJ went on to pinpoint the probable area through documentation research as I looked on with him. Long story short: he gave me 5 stretching exercises to perform daily at home and sent me on my way with assurance I can call back. BURD Physical Therapy is the best rehabilitation program in the greater Rochester Area. From the…read morereceptionist to your personal clinician to the owner--everyone has a friendly and inviting smile at BURD. I have been working with Danielle Schantz, D.P.T., for a few months and she has totally helped me regain full mobility. I suffered a foot and ankle issue months ago and I tried some of the larger physical therapy facilities in the area, such as the one associated with the widespread university system. However, they were not able to provide the customized solutions and personalization that Danielle prescribed in our first month together despite months of continued therapy with the other two organizations who treated me. Yet after only a few sessions with Danielle and I was feeling much more confident again in my strength. Not only was she extremely encouraging and upbeat, but her extensive knowledge in physical therapy and biomechanics then helped me achieve personal independence and I cannot thank her enough. Ms. Danielle's detailed knowledge of the human body and her unwavering belief in my innate ability helped me become stronger than I was prior to becoming injured and I never thought this was possible. For that I would recommend BURD as one's first choice in regaining one's life back--no matter the setback--for they have three convenient locations and a multitude of qualified clinicians across the county. I thank them sincerely and would recommend them to any family member or friend.
