He took the old one down and realized the new one had a different style of mounting bracket. He had the whole job down in under 45 minutes and the end project was clean and professional looking. Will do more work with them again in the future. I also like that the price never changed. They quoted me $149.99 when I first booked and that's exactly what I paid. They didn't try to sell me on a harder job for more money.

I appreciate the role which FixT serves, but with Yelp as the solicitation platform, it admittedly seems like another unnecessary middleman to go through them. The contractors did miss some minor things with our playground assembly, and unfortunately the price came in higher (without notification), despite my providing the exact model and steps required for assembly at the time of soliciting. The insurability and lack of comprehensive quality guarantees is a little off putting in the end, as even other entities that exclusively use "independent contractors" such as uber, still have additional protections in place for the end customer. Overall, they were good, not perfect. The process was wonky, but worked (for the most part) in the end. I just would prefer to go directly to the contractors in the future.

They have the relevant certifications (e.g. IICRC for mold) and training, and are able to complete many more aspects needed for thorough remediation than most companies (e.g. cleaning contaminated HVAC systems). My property was repaired by Southern Insulation (SI) which became an awful ordeal. In August 2023 a…read morewater roof leak damaged my unit's left & center stairwell walls. In Oct, the HOA hired SI to remove these walls & provide abatement; a 3rd party company KEM found asbestos. Only upon request did SI provide floor plans for their work but mislabeled the containment's clean & dirty rooms which raised work quality concerns. The day before work was to commence, Mark Minor, the president of SI, tried to claim I cancelled the job. Work began on Mon, 10/16 but SI removed just the center wall & a sliver of the left wall & removed the containment unit. We insisted he fulfill the contract but Mark persistently claimed no mold was on the left wall- until KEM's quality check immediately found visible mold- which forced Mark to fulfill his contract. This significant oversight by SI was alarming as they left our unit exposed to mold for an entire day. On Wed 10/18, SI removed the left wall, however Mark showed no remorse & didn't apologize for the glaring mistakes & distress caused. He questioned reimbursing our hotel stay for Wednesday; our HOA manager noted that if they removed the left wall on Tues, completing their contracted work a day early, my family & I could've returned home on Wed. On 10/20, Mark agreed to pay me $247.64 by check. By 11/16, no check arrived; Mark claimed that there was "a miscommunication" with staff but the check would be mailed on 11/17. Another 3 weeks have passed with no check; evidently Mark doesn't intend to keep his word. The lack of honesty/ transparency, low standards, Mark's refusal to acknowledge mistakes & honor the contract until forced to starkly contradicts SI's claim of "excellence" "quality customer service" & "upholding the highest standard of safety." My opinion: Do NOT hire Southern Insulation. I highly recommend ServPro- they are amazing professionals who communicate proactively and honestly, provide detailed paperwork, and have high work standards. They truly care about their customers!
