With no access to our backyard it's been difficult to hire a consistent landscaper to mow the yard. HOA denied us permission to cut through our backyard wall to allow access so since then trying to keep the lawn up has been a thorn in our flesh. Seeking out a solution on Yelp I saw Environmental Landscaping and called for a quote. Mario came out to look at our backyard, gave several sensible solutions at affordable prices (especially when considering the costs of materials has skyrocketed since COVID-19). Mario scheduled us within the next week, assembled his team and started our project much quicker than expected. Throughout the process he was responsive to all my questions, wether via phone or text. Any changes I requested he was flexible and made sure everything was done as I wished. They extracted an unwanted tree stump and installed a drip irrigation system for low maintenance yard care moving forward. I was in search of a good landscaper to finish up our irrigation in the front yard. I requested a quote from multiple companies. Mario from Environmental contacted me right away. We coordinated through Yelp to schedule an estimate. Mario and his brother showed up on time for our appointment and I explained to them my needs and they provided their expert recommendations. They provided a very competitive estimate via email and we settled on the terms and start date. I paid for materials up front and the remainder at the completion. Mario texted me what time they will arrived to start and provided a status text at the end of each day. He installed a new Wi-Fi enabled timer, valve, and drip system for the front yard. He also replaced some dead sections of my ficus hedge and threw in an additional Wi-Fi timer at cost to replace my backyard timer. Mario and his team were very thoughtful and professional throughout the entire process, they cleaned up and made sure we were completely satisfied before they left. Weeks after the install, I noticed that a section of the drip system had separated. I texted Mario and sent pictures of the issue. He and his guys ended up trimming some some of the palms I have in the front yard, planting some ficus trees, and in the back yard installing some artificial grass and pavers, and removing some debris. I did not write to you "2 months" after - I wrote to you slightly over 1 MONTH after the work was done. Your workers were caught by me SEVERAL times with their masks pulled down. The work you did was shoddy and the drip line you laid was done improperly, as stated both by the landscaper we had to hire to fix your work AND our regular gardener. You cost me a lot of money to fix your horrible work. You never told us not to buy materials "on line" as you state below. If I recall, I handed you my Macbook and you SELECTED items for us to purchase. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say you sent us pictures-- pictures of what?? You are truly nuts. Go ahead and hire Mario if you want calls three hours after he is supposed to show up saying "My car broke down" two days running. Hire Mario if you want his crew to put you and your family at risk of COVID-19. Hire Mario if you want landscaping work that looks horrendous. Original Review: I really wanted this to be a good experience. Mario is generally a very nice guy - however it would be a tremendous stretch to call him a "landscaper". Part of the job of a landscaper is to have a base understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of landscape design, which unfortunately Mario did not. We had a fairly simple project (planting hedges around the perimeter of our small backyard and coming up with a solution to block an ugly brick wall) that was done very poorly. The finished product is hideous. Secondly, the drip lines, which we paid extra to have relaid by Mario, were done improperly by Mario and his crew and we had to hire another landscaper to fix the work. The work Mario did in laying the drip lines caused two of the baby hedges to die within 1.5 months (and this was definitely not our fault, and they have started to revive since Mario's work was fixed by the other landscaper we hired). I wrote to Mario to let him know this had happened to give him a chance to remedy, but he would not, citing we were outside the terms of the warranty. While understandable, given that we were maybe a few weeks outside of the warranty period, I think an exception could have been made. I was additionally disappointed that despite asking several times, Mario's crew did not wear masks while working in our yard at the height of the pandemic (they finally put them on, but only upon being asked to several times). Classic situation of overpromising and underdelivering - I would not hire Environmental Landscapers again. read more

We had some problems with slow sprinklers in our backyard, and along the outside fence of the property we had sprinklers that were indiscriminately throwing water. We contacted Environmental Landscape via Yelp, and in a matter of minutes, we got a reply from Mario saying he could come and provide and estimate. Once Mario looked at the backyard, he said he would take care of us and fix the slow sprinklers, and that the sprinklers along the fence could be replaced with a drip irrigation system for more targeted water delivery. As he was leaving, we told him of an old stump that other landscapers were not able to remove. He said he would also take care of that and that he would send us an estimate that same night. The estimate did come in that night and I have to say it was a very fair price for the job. Mario and his crew came on the day we all agreed on, and in a matter of a few hours we had the sprinklers fixed, a new drip irrigation system, and the nasty stump removed! We were all surprised at home about how efficient the whole process looked. We have now called Mario a couple of times to do some more smaller things and he is always super responsive, accommodating, and with very good prices to boot. He is the man! read more

I needed some irrigation help, a large hedge trimming project, and to compress my DJ. Mario came out and reviewed the challenges, and provided a quote that day.
