With no access to our backyard it's been difficult to hire a consistent landscaper to mow the yard. HOA denied us permission to cut through our backyard wall to allow access so since then trying to keep the lawn up has been a thorn in our flesh. Seeking out a solution on Yelp I saw Environmental Landscaping and called for a quote. Mario came out to look at our backyard, gave several sensible solutions at affordable prices (especially when considering the costs of materials has skyrocketed since COVID-19). Mario scheduled us within the next week, assembled his team and started our project much quicker than expected. Throughout the process he was responsive to all my questions, wether via phone or text. Any changes I requested he was flexible and made sure everything was done as I wished. They extracted an unwanted tree stump and installed a drip irrigation system for low maintenance yard care moving forward. Also Mario went the extra mile by installing loads of lava rock by going over my backyard wall - as there was no access through the condo. During the heat of the summer this was hard work, but Mario and his team got it all done for an affordable price! I'm extremely satisfied with the job and have recommended Environmental Landscaping to family that need similar work. read more

Mario was very responsive and knowledgeable. He gave me great ideas on bypassing a broken sprinkler pipe on a difficult hillside. He promptly sent someone to look at the property, and quickly got back to me. I ended up not retaining him because of some property line issues I had with my neighbor, but I'd contact him again in the future. read more

I noticed that one of my sprinkler heads had broken and it was spraying water all over the place when I turned it on. Of course anytime there is a water issue, it's scary so I immediately turned to Yelp to search for someone who can come and give me a free quote. Mario immediately responded and then he said he could come right now! And he did. He came within the hour and surveyed my property. He looked at my broken sprinkler head and said it was an easy fix and did it for me right on the spot!!! He then walked around to give me an estimate since I was considering cleaning up my yard area. He was very kind, patient, and provided excellent customer service. I have yet to decided to schedule other work with Mario but I certainly will reach out to him and keep Environmental Landscape in mind if I do decide to go forward with re-landscaping my yard. read more

Working with Mario was great! We needed a team to put in fairly extensive decomposed granite pathways and seating areas in our backyard and Environmental Landscape's quote was the lowest by far. The work started very soon after we said ok, and was done quickly. He was always available and responsive to us over the phone or text. And after there was some inevitable settling of the d.g. a week or so later, he came back and patched it and told us to just let him know if it ever needs patching again. Our neighbors liked his work on our yard so much they're having him redo their backyard. He and his team made what could have been an overwhelming project a breeze. read more

Environmental Landscaping is PHENOMENAL! Mario and his crew were very communicative from the beginning. Mario was quick to respond via text or Yelp with any updates and inquiries. I requested an estimate last week, got one this Monday and the project is already done -- and it's only Thursday! His Crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time and began working like true professionals; they made me very comfortable throughout the repairs. Mario quoted me an amazingly awesome price and it remained the same at the end of their repairs. This business deserves more than 5 stars. Mario gave me a few tips that were very useful and relevant; can't wait for even more tips!! I can't wait for Environmental Landscape to return; I've got a few big projects that I will definitely be using them for... read more

I was in search of a good landscaper to finish up our irrigation in the front yard. I requested a quote from multiple companies. Mario from Environmental contacted me right away. We coordinated through Yelp to schedule an estimate. Mario and his brother showed up on time for our appointment and I explained to them my needs and they provided their expert recommendations. They provided a very competitive estimate via email and we settled on the terms and start date. I paid for materials up front and the remainder at the completion. Mario texted me what time they will arrived to start and provided a status text at the end of each day. He installed a new Wi-Fi enabled timer, valve, and drip system for the front yard. He also replaced some dead sections of my ficus hedge and threw in an additional Wi-Fi timer at cost to replace my backyard timer. Mario and his team were very thoughtful and professional throughout the entire process, they cleaned up and made sure we were completely satisfied before they left. Weeks after the install, I noticed that a section of the drip system had separated. I texted Mario and sent pictures of the issue. He quickly responded and said he'd be there the next day to take care of it. He showed up while I was at work to fix it and watered my plants before he left. I would do business with them again and recommend Environmental Landscape to anyone who needs landscaping done. read more

This review is for the company's customer service, which is exceptional. I called Environmental Landscape for a quote and Mario came out to the property within a day or two. He even came out a second time to clearly explain what he had in mind once he had developed a landscape plan for our project. Mario is easy to talk to, reliable, knowledgeable, and fair with pricing. We are still deciding whether to move forward and do our landscape at this time, but I thought the company deserved a review for their professionalism and attentiveness. If you're looking for a landscaping quote, do not hesitate to reach out to them. read more

TL;DR - Mario and his team were a pleasure to work with, as he was professional and provided high quality work. I will be asking his company to do more work on my property in the future. Fair pricing: After a free quote session to understand the work, Mario worked with me on detailing the costs of the project. At the end of reviewing several bids, we chose Mario because he had the fairest pricing and his knowledge/experience on the type of work gave us confidence that the job could be done quickly with high quality and minimal headaches. Prompt communication: I initiated a request for quote and Mario was the fastest to respond within 20 minutes. He provided this clear communication effort throughout the process. At the beginning of each day, he let me know when he would be onsite and what the specific plan was that day. During each day, he was just a simple call/text away. At the end of each day, Mario gave me an update and communicated any concerns. This provided a lot of transparency, set expectations, and allowed us to address any issues together. For example, there was some misalignment during the planning process on the size of the lawn area, and we were able to amicably solve the issue together. I highly disagree with the negative comments below in this regard, and perhaps some previous clients have not had the experience in managing home improvement projects. Quality work: Mario's estimate on time to complete and billing were within range, and his work exceeded expectations. His team removed unwanted weeds, dead grass, and shrubbery. Then, he implemented my landscaping plan, as well as installed a drip irrigation system. He also made sure my yard was clean at the end of the job and was respectful to ensure my neighbors' areas were not disturbed. read more

Nice job on our front yard, taking out the grass and putting in succulents and rock, for low water needs in our drought prone So Cal area

Mario and his team did such a great job. They cut down our sick lemon tree that was about 25 feet tall and hauled it all way. They also cut our grass and leveled our plant bed. Great prices too. I highly recommend them. read more

Mario is amazing. I had a sprinkler issue that nobody could fix. He came over and fixed it in a snap!

I needed some landscaping work in my front and back yard. A friend of my recommended Environmental Landscape as he had some work done in his house by them. I called and was helped out by Mario. We arranged a date and he came over to give me an estimate. He started the work right way. He and his guys ended up trimming some some of the palms I have in the front yard, planting some ficus trees, and in the back yard installing some artificial grass and pavers, and removing some debris. I ended up recommend him to my neighbor who also ended up getting some work done by him. He was really knowledgeable and responsive. Was helpful in recommending the type of layout the would look best in my house. Not to mention, he got the project done before the scheduled time frame. read more

Mario was very responsive and gave us the best quote out of all the estimates we received. His team was very efficient, professional, conscientious, and diligent. Mario is the best! He gave me the lowest quote BY FAR compared to everyone else and went above and beyond what was asked of him. He even came out after it was all done to check on how my new grass was doing and set my sprinklers up for me. I would 100% recommend him! read more

Edit: To respond to Mario's insane, odd, unprofessional, and rambling response to my review below - I am sorry sir but what you write is a flat out lie. I did not write to you "2 months" after - I wrote to you slightly over 1 MONTH after the work was done. Your workers were caught by me SEVERAL times with their masks pulled down. The work you did was shoddy and the drip line you laid was done improperly, as stated both by the landscaper we had to hire to fix your work AND our regular gardener. You cost me a lot of money to fix your horrible work. You never told us not to buy materials "on line" as you state below. If I recall, I handed you my Macbook and you SELECTED items for us to purchase. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say you sent us pictures-- pictures of what?? You are truly nuts. Go ahead and hire Mario if you want calls three hours after he is supposed to show up saying "My car broke down" two days running. Hire Mario if you want his crew to put you and your family at risk of COVID-19. Hire Mario if you want landscaping work that looks horrendous. Original Review: I really wanted this to be a good experience. Mario is generally a very nice guy - however it would be a tremendous stretch to call him a "landscaper". Part of the job of a landscaper is to have a base understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of landscape design, which unfortunately Mario did not. We had a fairly simple project (planting hedges around the perimeter of our small backyard and coming up with a solution to block an ugly brick wall) that was done very poorly. The finished product is hideous. Secondly, the drip lines, which we paid extra to have relaid by Mario, were done improperly by Mario and his crew and we had to hire another landscaper to fix the work. The work Mario did in laying the drip lines caused two of the baby hedges to die within 1.5 months (and this was definitely not our fault, and they have started to revive since Mario's work was fixed by the other landscaper we hired). I wrote to Mario to let him know this had happened to give him a chance to remedy, but he would not, citing we were outside the terms of the warranty. While understandable, given that we were maybe a few weeks outside of the warranty period, I think an exception could have been made. I was additionally disappointed that despite asking several times, Mario's crew did not wear masks while working in our yard at the height of the pandemic (they finally put them on, but only upon being asked to several times). Classic situation of overpromising and underdelivering - I would not hire Environmental Landscapers again. read more

Environmental landscape - Completed Landscaping - Landscape Architects or Designers Near Me

We had some problems with slow sprinklers in our backyard, and along the outside fence of the property we had sprinklers that were indiscriminately throwing water. We contacted Environmental Landscape via Yelp, and in a matter of minutes, we got a reply from Mario saying he could come and provide and estimate. Once Mario looked at the backyard, he said he would take care of us and fix the slow sprinklers, and that the sprinklers along the fence could be replaced with a drip irrigation system for more targeted water delivery. As he was leaving, we told him of an old stump that other landscapers were not able to remove. He said he would also take care of that and that he would send us an estimate that same night. The estimate did come in that night and I have to say it was a very fair price for the job. Mario and his crew came on the day we all agreed on, and in a matter of a few hours we had the sprinklers fixed, a new drip irrigation system, and the nasty stump removed! We were all surprised at home about how efficient the whole process looked. We have now called Mario a couple of times to do some more smaller things and he is always super responsive, accommodating, and with very good prices to boot. He is the man! read more

Mario came and did a good job. He had my pipe working and no leak on the same. Thank you for the speedy service!

I met with a few landscapers I found on Yelp in the Encino area to turn my front yard into drought resistant landscaping since the LADWP was offering a rebate to do so. (https://www.ladwp.com/ladwp/faces/wcnav_externalId/a-w-lndscap?_afrLoop=74722510381735&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrWindowId=null#%40%3F_afrWindowId%3Dnull%26_afrLoop%3D74722510381735%26_afrWindowMode%3D0%26_adf.ctrl-state%3D6d61uq6np_58) I went with Mario because he seemed easy to work with and has done a lot of drought tolerant landscapes with drip irrigation before, not to mention he had competitive pricing $. It was a big job, but they finished within a week and it came out better than I could have expected. Mario and his crew arrived early and on time every day. They left everything clean and tidy every night and had a great attention to detail throughout the process. My wife and I kept throwing tweaks and changes to our design and plan at him and he had no problem changing things on the fly. If you're looking for a landscaper this is the company to go with. My yard looks way better than before and I'll probably save $100 a month on watering with the new drip irrigation system. read more

Mario and Miguel did a great job for me today. I had a major yard clean up that a was a few years ignored. These 3 came in and worked hard to finish everything we had previously discussed. They also hauled it all away. Would definitely recommend. They were good communicators. read more

I found this company on Yelp and got 2 other quotes as well. I chose Environmental Landscape because of the reviews and also the quote was fair. I needed some irrigation help, a large hedge trimming project, and to compress my DJ. Mario came out and reviewed the challenges, and provided a quote that day. It wasn't the lowest, for some of the work, but I had a feeling it would be done right, so I went with them. I got the quote on Saturday and here we are Monday evening and ALL the work is done, and was done REALLY well!! I couldn't be more happy with the speed and efficiency. I felt like I got quality work for the price I paid and am happy with it. I was so pleased that I asked for another quote for another project I've been wanting, and he gave it to me on the spot today, and we're scheduled to have it done Thursday!
