Horrible service! Overcharged me and did not do the job properly. I would not recommend this company!

DO NOT USE ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGNS! I was driving up McIntyre street when an Environmental Designs truck was driving in front of me. They had a large plastic crate full of sprinkler pipes and parts sitting on their open tailgate. The crate fell out of the truck and I hit it in my very low classic vehicle, smashing the crate to pieces. Now my collector vehicle, which parts are no longer available for, is leaking engine oil. The driver of the Environmental Designs truck apologized, gave me his insurance card, I took pictures of the truck and the accident scene. I submitted a claim to their Liberty Mutual insurance carrier. The response I got back was that Environmental stated I was lying, and the incident never happened. They stated that their 2nd truck was following behind the open tail gate and that if this had happened, that their own truck would have hit it. VERY DISHONEST COMPANY-STAY AWAY! read more

As a board member of our HOA, I've been extremely dissatisfied with EDI (formerly operated as Arrowhead/Monarch Tree and Lawn Service). Despite the terms of our agreement, fall and spring pruning never occurred unless the area manager was reminded multiple times. Even after follow-ups, the work performed was minimal--workers would simply blow leaves while ignoring essential tasks like trimming shrubs or caring for trees. On top of that, said pruning occurred in January when snow is already on the ground. Additionally, new plantings were done outside the appropriate timing (the heat of the summer doesn't establish the roots well in Colorado), and routine maintenance was neglected. The company's labor costs are unreasonably high for the level of service provided, and during the winter months, we've been charged for services and products that were never delivered (ice melt charges were unrealistically expensive). My other gripe was that when we first signed on with Arrowhead/Monarch, they were eager to work with us and the City of Aurora to liaison with regarding the Community Improvement Program. We never heard back from the Area Manager once we laid out our hopes and dreams only to be ignored, month after month, missing deadlines for application. This company has failed to meet their contractual obligations and has been a poor investment for our neighborhood. I was very vocal about this for 2 years and without making any adjustments suggested we bid out. I would not recommend contracting with this company. read more

The bid they provided was significantly higher than other bids we had received for landscaping our front and backyard. People in my neighborhood have also said that the work they provide is subpar. When I asked that they send me details for the bid so I could try to figure out a way to possibly make it work, they said they would not unless I committed to using them, which I of course would not feel comfortable with given that they had already provided such a high quote. read more

Did appallingly bad work for our HOA. Ruined private trees that weren't even part of the contract, improperly installed drainage, and didn't fulfill contract. Avoid this company. read more

I wish someone had warned me before I wasted time, money, and stress with this fraudulent company! I never write reviews, but I'm writing this to help someone else so that they don't end up in my position. We gave EDI a portion of a larger project to first see how they would do on a smaller section before signing them up for the larger scope. And thank goodness for that! Dodged a major bullet because they did a HORRIBLE job. I'll spare you the details, but it was miserable start to finish. So obviously we did not sign EDI up for the rest of this large project. Trust me, don't try to save a buck, just skip EDI and pay a little more to work with a better company because you'll end up saving money in the end by not having to re-do horrible work by EDI. Our new landscape company is INCREDIBLE - night and day from EDI. So don't settle! They do amazing work, stand by their work, and bend over backwards to do what is best for their clients. Opposite of EDI. When Mike Hoefner, the owner of EDI's Denver arm, realized he wouldn't get the rest of the work for our project, he began to harass me, cold calling me non-stop to try to get the work. It was creepy and annoying to put it lightly. I had to ask others on our build team to tell him to stop calling me. I've never experienced anything like it before, but he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He didn't get the work, and he was angry. Then the plants they installed during that smaller scope began to die. We had 3 experts out, all who said the plantings EDI did were done poorly and were high risk. Mike, who used to call me incessantly, was now unresponsive. Finally he said he would honor the warranty on the plants but only in the form of labor. WHAT?! We are with a new (AMAZING) landscaping company now, so they don't want Mike's labor. We told Mike we wanted fiscal compensation or plant material to cover the cost. And now he just ghosts us and refuses to honor the warranty on his plants. This guy is a COMPLETE CRIMINAL. And now we have to take legal action. But somehow he can't locate any of the contact info for his legal team? Interesting. Of our entire major construction process, EDI has been the ONLY fly in the ointment. Don't make the mistake we did and run away as fast as you can from EDI. If you don't, I guarantee in a few months from now you'll be writing a review like I am right now. I honestly can't even believe this company is still in business. But I will continue to spread the word so that no one has to endure what my family and I have at the hands of Mike Hoefer. read more

In 2018 we contracted with Environmental Design out of Henderson, Colorado to complete a fairly complex and expensive landscaping, stone retention and irrigation system. The project went very smoothly and now that we have had almost one year for the plants to grow in the project looks outstanding. I wanted to make people aware that EDI is not only a great firm, they go out of their way to make customers happy, Kyle, Senior Designer, and Barry, Construction manager was awesome, we had some issues in the spring with the irrigation system and Barry had a crew there in one day, no questions asked, just fixed it. Some of our trees had a tough winter, and Kyle came out and with Barry's support had a crew out in one day to replace the trees! I can't say enough good things about the team, support, and beautiful design work. I highly recommend EDI and Kyle and Barry. They are truly customer-oriented and love their work and made our property healthy and beautiful. read more
