I called Kirkland around 7PM and spoke with their Tech Matthew who offered to come right over. I declined because it was raining heavily and I could wait until the next morning for a repair. Matthew stated on the phone it was probably the capacitor and he would be over at 8AM the next day. He arrived on time and replaced the damaged capacitor bringing the AC back to working. Matthew was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly and the pricing for the repair I felt was very reasonable. I have dealt with 2 other HVAC companies in the past and because of their performances, I did not call them again. I wish I could give Kirkland 6 stars instead of the max 5 allowed. There are indeed other Heating and Air Companies in the Dallas area; but there is only one Kirkland.

I was originally happy with the work performed by PAGS but since then I've discovered corners they cut such as miswiring the expensive UV light upgrade they sold me (so it didn't work half the time) and they also skipped installing a $250 surge protector (apparently a standard item reputable companies strongly recommend) which would have saved a $1200 compressor from failing after a recent power surge. If they were still in business I wouldn't recommend them.

However, after working with another company I realized a lot of money was wasted on service calls bringing unnecessary costs that could have been better suited with honest truth of a system mismatch that was the start of most of the problems with a cheap contractor prior to me purchasing home. I think I just wish they were more upfront from the beginning that after several calls they were not sure and had reached the limits of their expertise.

They fixed what the other guys recommended, but for 1/3 of the price. We're very satisfied. Save yourself time and money in the future and don't bother calling anybody else. Dr. Cool is the man. - This guy is real. I had just purchased a home with a 14-yr-old HVAC system; when I had someone else come service it, that tech came back with a laundry list of items needing done (or that my entire system needed replaced). I called a couple other HVAC companies to get second quotes before investing in such a huge expenditure. Dr. Cool (Dave) was great. He went over the list of items the other vendor found, and he assured me those items were what I might expect on an old unit like mine. He actually advised me not to spend any money on repairing the unit, since it was so old and could completely give up the ghost (I should mention my unit was cooling the house fine; these repairs were things found on a routine inspection) any time. He went on to take the time to explain to me the options for a new system, including approximate prices and details on what each system could do; he got as technical as I wanted, but also explained what I didn't understand in layman's terms. Dave said he came from a teaching family, so he wants to explain to his customers what their options are and educate them as much as possible. He also said he's a terrible salesman because he wants to find the best value for each customer; he actually was hesitant to talk to me about a more expensive system because of my current financial state (he repeatedly affirmed he did not want me or anyone else to go into debt if at all possible) and wanted to assure me he could provide good cooling service with a less expensive system. Here's the long and short: Dave is a good man who wants what is best for his customer, not what is best for his pocketbook. He cares about his customers as individuals. He knows what he is doing, gives excellent communication, and does good work. Definitely at least contacting him and letting him earn your business; he has mine.

I used them for years to recharge my system. After techs determined my single stage system was beyond repair. I opted to replace it with a variable speed unit. I was told that I needed to replace my water heater, because the new unit was wider than the opening, and was being blocked by the water heater. The job was not specified correctly, nor double checked for compatibility. The indoor unit that was installed was not compatible with the outdoor unit. At the end of the 2nd day the correct parts will installed to get the now 2 stage system functioning as a 1 stage system. The 3rd appointment was a no show. The 4th appointment verified that an additional $300. In parts would be needed, but not in stock, and would require a 5th appointment. The new unit was narrow enough to fit past the old water heater. $1,200. For a new, lower quality, water heater was a needless expense. I opted to complete the install myself, pulled new wires, installed thermostats zone control board and programmed both the control board and the inside. They worked with me with pricing, but I would have ended up with a higher quality system for less money, days earlier. Really nice people.
