So, I personally have only had two issues with the Envera system, but others in my community complain about it daily. I have to say I worked to get this system into the community I live in to help with cost, as live guards cost a great deal more, we would have loved to keep our in person guards but the other residents would NOT pay the additional cost to keep them. Up until 3 weeks ago when the Envera system went offline, my family and friends was happy with the system. However now that we have had Envera for 3 years, the headaches it has created, I would not suggest this system to other communities. I think one of the main issues is they do not work well with the HOA Boards, they just want to come in and handle everything, and that's not how the rest of the world works. Communication is lacking greatly, and you never get the same answer twice. I know they have a new CEO now, maybe her can right the ship, but I believe my community is looking a different solutions. read more

We have three entries with Envera managed gates. In any given week at least one of them is stuck wide open or laying on the ground. At this writing, two of the three entries are entirely open. They apparently lack the ability to detect an issue from their monitoring location. Notifying anyone is a wasted call given the frequency of downtime. read more

ZERO STARS. MINUS-LESS-THAN-ZERO STARS. Hardly a week goes by that it doesn't malfunction. I'm in a 55+ community. Just recently it was completely non-operational for just shy of 3 weeks! Every entrance! None of the residents' car decals that have been issued since October 2024 work at all. None of them. Each of those residents has to wait at the guest entrance to put their drivers license in the machine - every time they want to enter their own community where they live and pay Envera fees! And NOW, it's gotten even more interesting! Decals prior to October 2024 that always worked before now just randomly sometimes work, sometimes not. Yesterday there were TEN residents' cars backed up at the Envera gate waiting to get entry into their own community because a resident whose decal has worked for years suddenly found themselves stuck at the gate that no longer opens for them. I reported to Envera that my driver's license was not returned by the scanner at the back community gate (1600 homes). They said that they would investigate and get back within 48 hours. I returned the call to them after that amount of time, only to discover that they were not going to do anything at all. They claimed that they lost 'the tapes' that would help them try to investigate the incident. I have posted to our community association suggested improvements on how Envera might setup the scanner and gate systems. Given the negative reviews on this company, I would be surprised if there were any changes. read more

The gates to our community have been open since February 12th, Envera's response was just bad, no alternative security offered, no regular updates. It has been extremely frustrating to deal with Envera reps. And when you try to cancel the service agreement due to clear breach of agreement on Envera's side, they are demanding money for liquidated damages. Is just bad, stay away. read more

my community has had this service for 5 years. It was down for 3 weeks earlier this year. there are always gates that are wide open for more than a day. at the beginning the emergency vehicles had problems getting because the system didn't recognize the yelpers. the visitor setup doesn't function the they way they explained to us before the system was activated. takes too much time to admit visitors that are in the system so long backups occur. A lot of us wish they would terminate the contract. at the time we got them we were 10 times the size of any other customer. and this year they got another contract at an even larger nearby community. people there hate the service too. would not recommend them to any one. read more

Absolutely the worst automated security gate system ever!! They blame the problems on residents, but the real issue is with Envera.

Envera Systems was chosen by the management company for my community as the primary gate control system. Since its installation two months ago it has continued to fail, opening the gates to all autos. The most recent failure has been occurring for almost a week now opening the entry gate to everyone and with the Envera app ,which should provide access control and information to residents, down the entire time, Envera has provided no information on status to residents. If this company is serious at providing services to communities they should have backup systems to provide emergency services. They are certainly missing their published slogan to "Secure & Protect Your Community." read more

You are better of with no security. In our development anyone can gain access by saying a few key phrases. No questions asked. Their system has been down for weeks and our gates are wide open. They don't even have the courtesy to tell us what is wrong. Non-residents are using our development as a cut through and going 60 MPH on a 25/30 MPH private road. Envera could have temporarily put guards at the gates but chose the option to just leave them open with complete disregard for their customer and residents. Absolute garbage service. read more

They let anybody come into the neighborhood without calling half the time the other half time they're not letting people who you have on the come in or or people delivering food. I'm amazed they're still in business. I called an Uber one time because I was having foot surgery. I had to limp to the front of the neighborhood just to get out today during a rain storm I called an Uber and of course they didn't let him in again. So every single one of the negative reviews here is absolutely spot on. I live in a community with Envera as does my ex. How bad are they? In my community, the gates are locked open more than half the time, when they are not it is super easy for someone (often 2 someones) to tailgate through the open gate so basically useless. In my ex's neighborhood, during hurricane Ian they closed the call center... so no agents were available to greet anyone and they failed to lock the gates OPEN... so during a hurricane, with a medical emergency, I had no way to get into her neighborhood short of leaving my care and climbing over the fence. Also in her community, more than 1/2 of the time they license plate recognition does not work so you have to wait 5+ minutes to be granted access, which is time waiting for an agent plus time for having to give them the information repeatedly because either they do not speak English well or the two way communication system sucks (or probably a combination of both). If you can avoid ever living in a community with this company as the gate keeper, I would highly advise doing so. Unfortunately, there is no way to give less than 1 star. So happy to be moved out of a place who used this "security" company. So absolutely terrible. When it rains, which is almost all the time in Central Florida, the laser scanner can't read your bar code, so you have to get out of your car, in the rain, wipe off the bar code, fast enough for the laser to scan it, while angry cars line up behind you. Cars are always pulling up to the gate without a bar code, and there is no button for them to press to call someone to let them in, so cars pile up behind and there is no room for them to back up. People we put on the access list are always stuck waiting at the speaker, for access. A few times the gate shut right in front of my parent's car right after they were granted access. To add to the insult, one time the security guard yelled at them after the gate shut in front of their car, AFTER they were granted access. Just the absolute worst. Do not hire this company. Do not move into a complex who uses this company, if you can help it. read more

I just moved out a community in Homestead, Florida that switched from manned security to Envera almost a year ago. I may have moved out because I got a job opportunity to elsewhere... but one thing I was most thankful for was that I never had to use this security company again! How does remote security work lol? Especially when people can and did tailgate all the time. The security company also always had the gates open on holidays... what did criminals go on vacation? I also hated the long lines it would cause and the frustration I felt whenever I ordered from Uber eats and they had problems getting in. And the crazy thing is... my fees only went down $5 from my community switching from manned security to this.... not worth it. read more

For any communities looking to use this company's services, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. Every time I try to enter it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get the gate to open. The people that work in their gate centers play games and pretend like there is a bad connection. They tell you to proceed and the gate will open, but they never open the gate. Terrible system. Visitors not allowed access through the gate unless they can call me and ask my permission. At some times , I've been at an important event or in a plane where I could not receive the phone call to confirm my guest. Worst gate system ever - We've had the Envera Systems in our community for a year and there has not been a single day that we have not experienced problems with this company. The gates malfunctions on a daily basis, and often several times during the day. The malfunctions often include the arms opening and remaining in the open position for hours, we have also experienced the gates remaining open over night several times. On many occasions the resident gate does not open for the homeowners, while the visitor gate is wide open. Talk about the opposite of SECURITY! If there were an option to give Envera Systems a NEGATIVE 10 star rating that would be our choice. read more
