Our experience started in June of 2024 when after 2-years of renting trucks from Penske we thought…read moreit would be in our best interest to purchase one. We rent trucks and require a semi-about 4x per month. Here is a vehicle price breakdown for factual affect; The total price=$53,299 (taxes, fees, etc); we gave a deposit of $11,000-$500 (Title fee); which means our principal payment from the lender (we thought was Premier) would be $41,799. And on the BOS from Penske this is the price breakdown. But the contract changed when Penske got LEAF involved without our knowledge or consent. Now LEAF is stating that our contract buyout would be $51,330.72 (because we have made 4 payments.) These are the facts every buyer should be aware of and concerned by. How we got here is outlined below and for those of you say their idiots, or this is your fault-I hear you. This entire scenario has tested me and my husband beyond measure, and we should have walked away after being transferred to 4 people all working for the same company, but we really needed this truck. Now I am just hoping to stop some entrepreneur or excited business owner from ever working with or financing with Penske, Premier Financing or LEAF Capital. From June 20, 2024-July 15th, 2024; we were under the assumption that the financing for the vehicle would be thru Premier Financing who holds the vehicle certificate. This was the entity that requested all our bank documents, insurance information and all the applicable statements needed to finance a truck. We even signed the Vehicle BOS #079612....... on July 10th, 2024. Then for some unrequested reason and without explanation we received an email from LEAF on July 16th, 2024. We did not choose LEAF capital; in fact, we were never consulted or informed there would be a transfer so we (apparently like idiots) assumed the Vehicle BOS from Penske would carry thru to LEAF. LEAF does not have a prepayment penalty clause in their contract, but they do state in section 2 under Payments that the 'Borrower may not prepay any portion of this Agreement. None of this was ever explained to us by anyone at Premier Financing or at LEAF. We signed the BOS and agreement with Premier Financing on 07/10/2024 that has no conditions about a prepayment penalty but now LEAF is saying even if you want to pay if off early you will be subject to the interest of the additional 54-months.

We stopped by to drop off our car trailer in the morning before unloading the truck. One of the employees came out to meet us and got the trailer off of our truck hassle-free and quickly. We came back later in the day and received prompt, friendly service when dropping off the truck. Not a big fan of moving but this Penske office helped to make the evolution a little less painful.

Guess that was the only one as the other one had a fuel issue. While my boyfriend was more understanding, I was immediately pissed. We had furniture waiting back at our apartment for the truck! They were only able to offer us a smaller truck and when I asked for a discount, we were told that couldn't be done but they gave us unlimited mileage (considering we would now have to make more trips) and moving blankets. Ok, I was still frustrated but happy they were able to do something about our situation. Fast forward and we drop off our truck to a budget location in Mesa ONLY to be told the guy wouldn't accept it because the lot was full. How is that our problem.. so we once again were inconvenienced and had to return the truck to a different location. I contacted corporate frustrated and finally was able to get us some compensation back. I will NEVER EVER use Budget again. Worst customer service and experience. If I didn't call and basically complain and be persistent nothing would have been done and judging from other comments here, this seems to be how they conduct business.

Zero attention to detail or pride in what they give customers. Customer service? Nonexistent. The so-called manager is more interested in sitting around than actually doing his job. No explanation of procedures, no urgency, just an "I don't care" attitude. It felt like I was inconveniencing them for picking up a rental I paid for. Ebony, one of the employees, might as well have been on autopilot. She just goes through the motions with no interest in helping or even being polite. She and the heavy-set manager seem more focused on chatting with each other than serving customers. This location needs a revamp, mostly new employees, but truly some actual consistency.

We had to keep getting back in line and wait every time the staff messed something up. We dealt mostly a woman named Ebony who really didn't seem to know whether she was coming or going. I always thought you would finish taking care of one client before moving on to another, but not at this place. I had even called ahead of time several times just to make sure I had all my ducks in a row, but apparently there are no set guideline for procedures because different people kept telling me different things. We finally just left without a new gate code because we got tired of waiting, hanging out in the heat and not being helped. There was one young guy who was as helpful as he could be, his name was Anthony. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff left him by himself at one point, and the place was swamped. We felt very sorry for him.

This wasn't suitable and was very disappointed with Penske as I cannot fit a 16" into my driveway and really not cool giving us a larger vehicle requiring more gas money for space that was not wanted or needed. Had to cancel and go downtown to find a smaller truck with another company. Got on the road later than we'd have liked, not cool and won't be using Penske again. Nice customer service rep at Home Depot though. Notify your customer if you do not have the vehicle requested or don't offer that vehicle online if it's unavailable in the first place.

I went to the U-Haul center to refill a propane tank for my barbecue. It was Sunday and it was 4:45…read morepm. I was greeted warmly and asked what I needed. I let them know. I was there to refill a propane tank at which point the guy that was speaking to me immediately looked at the clock. And then this very large heavyset girl with short black hair said oh we can't refill the propane because somebody got burned. I find this to be highly unlikely and probably a false statement as propane when it is dispense comes out cold not hot. Also, the large propane storage out there if that would've been on fire there would've been black smoke black char black anything. And it was pristine- it actually looked brand new. It was basically a lie. They didn't want to be inconvenienced because it was near the end of the day. I didn't question them I said thank you very much and I left just cause I'm the better person. But I think that your Customer Service is absolute crap. I think your employees should probably be reviewed because they're probably lazy. They don't seem to care about the customer which means they probably don't care about their job, especially the heavyset gal. I did not see her name, but she was the most ridiculous of all of them. Please learn from this and improve your Customer Service training or hire better people.

If you are like me at times... and I mean during my ten+\- stint during this long U-Haul Relationship I've managed to now invest in... (how did this happen?) -we're talking an affair with a 26' truck and 9' Van loaded to the brim, for a month, but not before being towed around town, illegally (not Uhaul's fault- but the Bitches at Aria apt's, and I'm fine calling them out on it... learns your A.R.S's broads!), an impromptu "garage sale out the back of the truck (not at my discretion!) again not Uhaul's doing but funny now that it's in the past)... then going into storage for "a month" (ahem) sh*t hit the fan so that means 9 months... then trying to move out of THREE storage units by myself (5'1" me!) across town in a 15'er... units locked - not locked - locked - not locked, closed at ten, do I know? I don't know... you get it.... The GM at this location cannot be MORE amazing. And I mean amazing like you would think in his spare time as a male he was a kindergarten teacher for special needs children. I say this with the best intentions because it would take AMAZING patience, calm tone, voice control, the kind of person that remembers to Smile when they answer the phone (like they teach you in "upselling class", and he ALWAYS answers his phone. Friday night at 9? Yep. Sunday morning inf at 11? Yep. Monday evening at 630? Yep. Unfortunately I know this. Now... there is one gentleman I have to add... stay away with a ten foot pole, he would ruin your best day and make you say "Kristen wtf are you talking about you've lost your mine you're a liar and I hate you!" That's NOT Brian. You want Brian. Honestly, I think Brian keeps him on board because maybe they can't pay unemployment cause it'll raise the rating too high - or possibly he's been there so long Uhaul is obligated to him - I don't know I have no idea why they keep this person. He could be a relative of Joe the owner of Uhaul. There has to be a reason because this guy doesn't deserve a job cleaning the amalgam traps at the dental school honestly. But who knows, everyone has a family to feed...maybe they should just put him in the back so he doesn't have to work with anybody. Other than that disaster, Brian At the Cave Creek and 101 Uhaul is amazing and if you need a truck or storage...I couldn't more recommend going to see him ... and even the two ladies that work there that impress me by being able to drive those 26 foot trucks are super awesome also !
