Jordan Haverkamp is an amazing manager and so is their other management. I had issues with the first car recently I got from there , they changed it out right away. Then I had issues with my insurance company and Jordan was amazing and looked out for me with those problems in ways he didn't have to. I couldn't be more grateful for him. I'll never go anywhere else for a rental car. Thank you guys so much. read more

Jacob and his team are amazing! Outstanding customer service and communication, clean vehicles, clean facility...and they bend over backwards to accommodate their customers. I've rented a fair amount of vehicles over the years, and none of those experiences even compare. I'll never rent elsewhere again! read more

Everyone was very nice and helpful, I was picked up by a very nice gentleman who picked me up and took me to Enterprise to get a rental car. The car I got was very nice and then when my vehicle was ready a very nice lady picked me up and took me to pick up my car when it was ready read more

If I could select zero or negative stars, I would. We booked a vehicle for a family vacation 4 months in advance. Leading up to the date of rental, we were contacted to confirm. We returned the call to the number provided and confirmed. When we arrived to pick up the rental, we were informed that it was not available. Because we did not speak with someone at their office (although the number provided was the National number), we did not follow their procedure and a vehicle was unavailable. As we attempted to find alternative solutions, we were informed there was nothing that could be done. We asked how we could have known about this internal procedure as nothing in the reservation process, confirmation email, or on their website indicated this requirement. We were met with blank stares. Do yourself a favor and rent from anywhere else. The lack of problem solving, communication, and customer service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. read more

My mom and I got standard and were out of state about 5 hours away. When trying to get a rental car, the payment arrangements were inconvenient for people who travel with only debit cards or cash. They only accept credit cards for one ways, but then they said in state DLs were able to take debit cards (which made no sense). Then we asked to make payment arrangements with my grandma over the phone and they said that the credit card has to match up with the name and has to be in physical possession . Luckily we had an amazing worker (Jacob) who was very kind and considerate of our situation. read more

I rented a car for my birthday the car was nice, however it was not as clean as I expected. Weeks after I am home I began to receive emails about unpaid tolls. I called customer service 10-3 @ 245pm and spoke with a really rude lady, she advised me that enterprise does not ask if there customers will be traveling out of town. I asked to speak to a manager and she said ( that is fine they will tell you the same thing) snickered and transferred me. I then spoke to Cory and he said he doesn't work in the office and he is in Arizona. I asked how I could get the other agents name he told me he could not help but would report to the Quality Team. I called back to Topeka downtown store and talked to Ella she apologized no one offered me a tag or the plan. She said I could talk to the Toll people and they would square it away. I spoke to Bruce and he said he can not and he does not know why they tell people that. I am upset because the adults that were in the car all have K-Tag. They should always offer this service to all customers. The fact that no one is willing to help me or be compassionate is why I had to speak out. If you rent from these ppl please ask for the K-Tag $50 waisted read more

Make sure you have a credit card. Enterprise is inflexible and loves their policy more than their customers. Last week, I drove a fire engine, with my firefighter son, from L.A. to get home for a funeral. Enterprise made no mention of any restrictions when I reserved a car. Upon arrival, in a fire engine, headed to a funeral, they told me my card had expired 2 days earlier. Okay. No sweat, the new card is at my house, I told them. I've been gone for over a month fighting fire. I'll get my wife to send a front and back photo and we will run it that way. No. Corporate policy, we need the physical card. Okay, how about my debit cards, plenty of cash? No. Corporate policy, no debit cards. Okay. I'll bring you cash, plus a deposit if necessary. Nope. Corporate policy. So there I was. The engine is returning to base, I need to get to St. Louis. Enterprise is a St. Louis company. I've rented many, many times from them, business and private. So many trucks on federal fires are from Enterprise rentals. So many. No. We will not help you out. The manager flat refused to ask his boss. Corporate policy, no need to ask. I will not rent to you. Okay, I'm worried, I'm frustrated, I had been driving for days. I called Hertz in Topeka. I explained my situation. Come right over, we will have a car waiting. I left Hertz in under 10 minutes. They didn't act like they were doing me some huge favor at Hertz. They grasped the situation, saw that I had plenty of ID and decided to take pity on this frustrated guy, who smells like burning sage brush, and get him home for his father's funeral. Thanks Hertz for your kindness and willingness to look beyond "Corporate Policy". Enterprise has lost my business and I am very disappointed in them. Rules are rules, but somehow, Hertz got me home despite rules and with sensitivity. Enterprise looked at me like I was asking for them to do the impossible. Completely cold, completely inflexible. Bye, bye Enterprise. Thank you again HERTZ! read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - The Enterprise Store - Car Rental Near Me - Topeka, Kansas

It was the most awful rental experience I have ever had. I was given a car with no spare and told road side assistance would be available. I got a flat tire at 445 p.m., and when I called the provided number, it would not go through. I called the branch I got the car from and was given a new number, which got me to a person who told me I had to be transported an hour in the wrong direction. The only branch that would be open was at the airport. I told them that was not a good option because it puts me three hours from home. They didn't really care about that at all. The person on the phone basically lied to me and said I could go with a tow truck to the Firestone and have tire repaired. When I arrived at the Firestone basically an hour after I got the flat. I was told they couldn't do a fifteen minute job until the next day, and that they were very clear about that with the enterprise rep who called them. The reason was they had 4 cars they had to finish. I counted six people in the branch, at least. So I called back the number I was given. I got an individual who is in need of some speech training because I could not understand most of what he said. I tried politely to tell him that I could not understand him several times. He was more concerned with me giving him clear yes and no answers to questions like, "Am i in a safe place." And "is this a good number to call you back." After about 7 times telling him i couldn't understand him, i asked for a supervisor. He transferred me to a number that rang and then went to a voicemail box that had not been set up. Then i was hung up on. So i called back again. I got a different person and was then again told I had to go to the airport. Furious and out of other options, I accepted an Uber to the airport. Where I was another hour of time burnt. I was dropped in a dark underground garage where I had to walk across the lot carrying three bags by myself into an airport. My bags are heavy and contain tools, so it was not a pleasant walk. I got into the airport and found the rental area at the top of the stairs. All the places were open except for enterprise. I again called back the number and was told Uber took me the wrong place. After which, I asked where they got the address they took me to? Enterprise entered that address. I stated such, and then I was told they took me the right place. I responded with, but your store is dark, and no one is here. At this point, I was so furiously angry that I told the person on the phone that I expect you to book me an Uber home, and I would rent a car elsewhere on my own. This prompted some form of thought, and I was then told I could go to any of the rental places because they are all affiliated. I'm not sure why that wasn't utilized earlier. But I went to national, and they had me worked out in 5 to 8 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous that enterprise can't deal with their own problems and has to rely on other more professional companies to take care of their customers. read more

The staff was great they handled me with respect even though I was stressed to the max. Ian went above and beyond.

7/14/2023 Progressive reserved a car for me and my 3 year old son. Sever weather hit, 75 mile an hour winds with the caution to take cover and stay inside on the news. They canceled the reservation made 3 to 4 days before by progressive for me and my son. We had confirmed 4 or 5 times we needed this car when they called us. No phone call, simply rented our car, and told us tuff, it would be 3 to 5 days before we could get a car, but we could from someone else. I will gladly will never rent from Enterprise. read more

I've been in the same rental for about 4 months and paying every step of the way! So why am I getting rude messages from the office manager and then when I call to update payment again I get a person lacking customer skills who after taking my payment authorization decides to hang up on me without letting me know if it was accepted and a think you. how rude! the shame is she obviously realizes that it's us customers that create a salary for her! absolutely the rudest person that may have possibly ruined a perfect day! thanks a lot, rude employee!! read more

They quoted 100.00 for a car rental but charged 400.00 and THEN charged a random 22.53. I am freaking tired of people screwing over their customers. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. Unethical and unacceptable practices. Fourth occasion of arriving for pickup and being told no vehicle is available. Called ahead to confirm due to previous experiences. Advised they had it and was expecting me. This has happened at both Topeka locations. Female working at Topeka West location had zero empathy and stated she was not the one who told me they had a car available. Told nothing available at other location when I asked. Had already paid for a ride there, and ended up having to pay for an Uber upon leaving. Attempted to call customer service as there is no contact information (phone number or email) listed anywhere on their website. Customer service could not provide me with the information, could not transfer me to anyone else in an attempt to gather the info. All that could be done was to send a request to a management email requesting they call me to discuss. Have yet to receive any call or email. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I absolutely would. This is a joke!!! This is my third rental from Enterprise because I believe in giving people/companies second chances. The first car I booked I ordered a full size sedan because we were traveling cross country. I went to pick up the car and they "upgraded" me to a challenger. That's not an upgrade when my son is 6'2 and will most likely be in the back seat at some point during this trip. We go through Scottsdale and hit snow. Guess what!? Bald tires on snow don't work and we almost had 3 accidents driving through 1 city! Fine fine. I ordered another car this time to drive to Denver. I again ordered a full size car for the mpg. When they confirmed my reservation I specifically told Junior that we were driving to Denver and it was supposed to be snowing so I needed good tires. When I pick up the vehicle it's a SUV that gets 20 mpg instead of 30+ which is not what I reserved. Then I don't get out of Kansas and I am pulled over by the Highway Patrol (mind you I work in law enforcement) and am advised the registration is expired!!! I called the office the following day and spoke to Junior again. He "reassured" me that the registration was a fleet plate and didn't expire. Well Junior, I don't think a national law enforcement agency is wrong. And your lack of empathy and concern for my career was completely heartless and unprofessional. Never, ever again will I use this company!!! read more

I had a reservation scheduled for May 13-17. I was traveling from MCI airport to pick up my rental car. When I arrived I was told that they cancelled my reservation because I was an hour late and did not call them. The branch manager said they had over 30 people waiting for rental cars that day and after an hour they will cancel your reservation. I called their corporate office and was told that reservations are valid from the time I was scheduled until they close their branch. I was scheduled to pickup at 3pm and arrived at 4:20pm. Our flight was a bit delayed and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get their from MCI airport. They have zero customer service and were uncaring and unapologetic about the whole situation. They do not honor their reservations and would not recommend this location at all!! read more

I chose this particular Enterprise because it is a 25 min walk from the Amtrak station. As always, renting a car is easy and consistent. The agents behind the counter took care of everything and at the same time, they were great to work with. read more

Update: After I posted my unhappy review to Facebook, Yelp, Google, and the Enterprise website, comments were made on each of those to the tune of "Oh no! Wonderful customer service! I was having a really bad day (the reason why I had to rent a car) and to top it off I had forgotten my drivers license at home. They drove me home to get it. Fast pick up and drop off, very good customer service. I got an Jeep Compass SUV for 3 days for about $130. Price is not bad but the car is kind of an old model, with outdated media system and without a back car monitor. I hope that they car have some newer cars available in the future. read more

I would give this a zero if possible. Rules change on renting in you are disabled. First our daughter only needed a debit card to rent a suddenly upon learning she is disabled they need more credit. Also, I quote, "how can we trust her with our car". She is an excellent driver and all financial responsibility is ours. read more

I cant say enough about this place. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the car was clean and comfortable and the prices were cheaper than anywhere else in town offering unlimited miles. I even needed to extend my rental by a day and all it took was one 30 second oboe call and it was taken care of. I have always rented from hertz in the past but i will always rent from enterprise from here on out. Keep up the great work! read more

Have used Enterprise for almost 15 years. Staff always helpful, courteous and met our needs per our reservations. NOT today. Family going to Texas we made reservations way in advance. My sister did not get SUV requested and sent her to 3rd and Topeka location. She was unhappy but took minivan. I talked with Enterprise day before and verified I had SUV. Went in there and same thing -sorry do t have what u need. Explanation was false. They overbooked. Manager standing there and not helpful at all. I told them they misled both of us. Manager said it's minivan or nothing. Rude as all get out. Did not care longtime customer. Yes I was up and told him back in day when location run by young black folks - NEVER had a problem. Manager took offense to that and told me to GET OUT. I'm spreading word. They are TERRIBLE. Called Avis immediately and Omar offered great discounts and great service. Enterprise is failing. read more
