The hotel was clean and in a safe area, the beds were comfortable. The hotel is around several nice sit down restaurants, grocery stores and drive throughs. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR WIFi.... We were disappointed that the free WiFi not only was weak it also would cut completely out. The WiFi isn't reliable unless you pay for it or you are part of the rewards program. The free breakfast was good and had several hot, cold and fresh items.

We stay at Hilton Properties pretty much exclusively. This one was very meh... Pros: Reasonablly friendly staff. New hall carpets and nicely appointed common areas. Nice breakfast! First Hilton, since March, that's back to pre C19 normal. This meant allot to my hubby. Cons: Had to ask for my complimentary waters and had to request typical two as he was handing me only one. I know this seems like a little thing but this has been happening at allot of the Hilton properties lately. Cost cutting measure perhaps? Tacky, esp. to/for Gold Members. Also, lately all the properties employ a really heavy comforter with a sheet but NO blankets. Not impressed. The water pressure is awful and water sooooo over softened/conditioned you feel slimy when done in the shower. And, you can't get the soap off. Also, there is no place to rest your foot to shave your legs... Lastly, as mentioned above, the cleanliness of is sub-par; especially the wall pictures and bath. The vanity has something nasty on it and the bottom edge of the shower door was nasty. Pictures attached.

Clean and efficient, easy to get to and lots of restaurants around the hotel. These are what I look for when getting a hotel during a road trip. This Hampton Inn checked off all the boxes. Rooms were large and well taken care of. Friendly staff and good breakfast options. Hotel swimming pool was a hit with he kids too!

New Hampton Inn. Great decor. Clean hotel. Comfy beds. Free, minimal breakfast. Decent place to stay for a night or two.

It is nice and clean. The staff can be a bit weary late at night but all around good service.

There are several different…read morehouses on the same street which are part of the B&B, and we stayed in the main one, a 1920s Tudor-style mansion which was once one of the most valuable homes in Topeka. The living room was designed after a Tudor-era library, with lots of dark carved woodwork and stained-glass windows. The owner seems to be on a mission to save her block of this urban neighborhood in Topeka which is safe but has seen better days. As the rundown-but-beautiful houses on her block go on the market, she snaps them up, renovates them, and adds them to her little mini-village of bed-and-breakfast venues. She's a one-woman neighborhood rehabilitation program and has obviously made this her life's work, down to collecting decorative items to lovingly put her idiosyncratic touch on every square inch. Our room -- The Chester, named after the original owner of the mansion, Chester Woodward -- included a private full bath and a small gardenlike private rooftop deck with a hot tub. The room is cozy rather than spacious but very comfortable. Every night the owner brings out a homemade dessert (the night we were there it was a lemon-cheese ball to be spread on homemade sugar cookies the way you'd spread a savory cheese ball on crackers -- I'm so stealing this idea) and her morning breakfasts are lavish. She checked our convenience for breakfast and was clearly prepared to serve earlier or later depending on our needs. She was also happy to give us pointers on where to eat and what to see in Topeka. The Saturday night we were there she'd arranged for a couples' massage team to offer massages for guests. We didn't take advantage of it but other guests were. I would definitely stay here again if I were in Topeka overnight.

Reason for Travel: My husband and I rented a room here traveling back home from Colorado…read more Duration: Thursday night Review: Booking Services: Walked-in around 8pm to ask if they had a room available. Guest Services: The nice American lady was obliged to help us. Very friendly and knowledgable of the area. Security: Dimly-lit parking lot at night. It's located on a highway with many retail shops, so it has the ability to be busy, I'm sure. Room: For approx $65, what do you really expect? There is a desk with an office chair as well as a small sofa. The decor is from the 1970s or 80s, probably when the place was constructed. Cable t.v., free wifi. Nothing really spectacular, but I could bring my labs inside--so I was content. Bathroom: Small & Cramped! The water pressure was ok. I've experienced worse. Breakfast: Nothing to write home about here. Waffles and muffins. Atkins BEWARE! You might want to stash a protein shake in your bag. Pet Policy: I think I paid $10 per pet, which tacked on an extra $20 for my tab. Overall, the place was clean, they had a bed, and it was quiet. Check in and check out was a breeze. There were a few other people staying here, but I never heard them. I would not stay here alone if I were traveling solo. I would consider lodging here again if we were in the area with my labs, but if I weren't trying to get them into a reasonable hotel, I would have chosen a different place to stay the night.

This whole ordeal has been a huge frustration and cost a lot of money. When we called, we explained that we were making our reservation explicitly because he had fleas. They never told us there would be an additional $20 charge. Then, on the day of pickup, we called early asking if we might be able to pick him up at 11 am instead of 8. They said that would be fine. What they should have said was, "No problem, but just so you know, there will be an additional $60 charge to pick up after 10 am. Is that OK?" It wasn't okay. But they didn't communicate that. We would have picked him up before 10 of we knew that. Yes, we understand that there are costs associated with running a business. We run our own business. But it's not reasonable to put everything in the terms and conditions and not verbally communicate important details to your customers. It was probably just an oversight, but this experience just made our bad situation worse. We still have to board him again to treat the house a second time, and will not be going here.
