Can restaurants do this with dinner reservations? If you don't know if there will be any cars available, DON'T TAKE THE RESERVATION! The manager tried to tell me that a reservation with Enterprise was not a guarantee of a car. WTF! I will certainly not be renting from them again. Fortunately Hertz came through for me with a car, with no reservation and at a lower price! Don't rent from this horrible company. I hope they go the way of Spirit Airlines.

We bought duct tape to try to hold it on until we could get to our hotel and call Budget. It didn't hold for long so we stopped again and looked under the car and noticed the pan had been installed with tie wraps. Very, very unsafe. If it had come off it could have injured any vehicle around us. Called Budget and was told to drive it to OK Airport to trade it for another car. That was 50 miles away so we drove as slowly as we could on the interstate. Budget at OK Airport gave us another car, we transferred everything from one car to another and as we checked the new car over we noticed the front bumper was coming off. One person told us they would get us an upgrade. As we waited for the new car, someone else brought us a car the same size or slightly smaller than our first or second car. Once again we had to unload our car and pack everything in the last car. We were renting the car for 16 days, so we had it packed pretty full. At no time did anyone apologize, or offer to help us move or stuff from car to car. Not to sound whiny but we're in our 70's and it was late afternoon in OKLAHOMA! The rep who told us she would get us an upgrade didn't obviously. She didn't offer a discount, or any compensation for us having a 4 hour delay caused totally by Budget. When I told her I was extremely disappointed in the way everything was handled she said she would give us a $60 discount. She would not have done that if I hadn't complained. My advice -don't just walk around the car looking for damages, look under the car for falling car parts. 15 years as a Budget only person all changed with this one rental.

I want to start with a couple of warnings to would-be customers of Inn at 835, then I'll move on to…read morepraise. FYI I was in the Delphinium Room. First, and most importantly, if you or someone you are traveling with is elderly or has limited mobility, please double check the room you've been assigned to. When I was getting in and out of the shower/jacuzzi tub combo, it occurred to me how difficult the leap over the edge into a slick tub would be for someone my father's age. (I did use and REALLY enjoy the jacuzzi, and the attached shower was fine, but it's something to note.) Also, shower before 8:30 if you want any hot water! Second, if you're going to Springfield for work and will need stable and strong WiFi, this is NOT the hotel for you. I was just trying to check email and could barely get enough signal to do that. The signal didn't seem to be any better in the cafe area downstairs. Third, if you need a hairdryer, be sure to bring your own. They don't have them in the rooms. Now, on to the positives! What a cute little hotel this was. Parking was easy and free. There was hot breakfast available, which I didn't try due to time constraints. But there were bagels (only blueberry, weirdly enough) and muffins and toast. Also, the coffee was fantastic! The room was clean enough, but I did notice some small crumbs on the rug when I arrived. There were a couple of holes in the sheets, but the sheets were certainly clean and the bed was comfy! There are some great little touches at this inn, such as the warm cookies that arrive each evening and the modest little happy hour in the afternoons. I would absolutely stay here again--it was unlike anywhere I've stayed before. And it was the perfect spot for touring around the Lincoln stuff and the Dana House and so forth.

There were only two issues we had while we stayed there. 1 - I booked a room for 3 people and they didn't leave pillows or blankets for the pull out couch there. A few calls and several hours later we were told to come down to get a blanket but they were out of pillows (they were supposed to bring it up to our room originally). 2 - the breakfast food isn't really restocked and every day we went there was a low quantity of everything. Luckily we didn't need much because girls didn't want to eat heavy and I was snacking most of the day at the BOS center, but it would've been nice for guests not to just wait around for stuff. The kitchen is also super small where everything was. Overall I'd say we had a great stay and the good outweighed the bad. I felt safe there and that was what I was most worried about. Parking was also super close.

The Springfield Hilton Garden Inn is not a luxury hotel by any means but it held its own as a nice budget friendly option. Free coffee downstairs in the morning, a fitness room with old but serviceable equipment, a pool if you were looking for that, and a six-day a week restaurant if you wanted to eat in. So the Springfield Garden Inn had everything we needed. If they wanted to change it up vis-a-vis the competition, they should consider converting the full service restaurant into a free continental breakfast place ... that would set them apart. But all in all we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We were given a first floor room near the back door, which seemed odd. Mr. Bee has a Hilton Honors account and we typically do higher floor, but they said this was all they had, yet we had a reservation. We settled into our room, and noticed it was quite dated and we expected better. Our room was near the hotel laundry and there were three vents near our room for the dryers. All day and all night, it sounded like a motorcycle revving its engine outside our room. Needless to say, it was restful sleep. Mr. Bee did inquire at the front desk about the noise, and there was no apology, offer to move us, it was simply yes, that is from the hotel laundry. On the mirror outside the bathroom there is a sticker advising that housekeeping will be done every other day. Yet, in our 3 night, 4 day stay we never got housekeeping services. Again, Mr. Bee walked down and asked if we could get some new towels as we hadn't had housekeeping in, and the front desk staff said well they have all gone home for the day, but here are two towels. Seriously??? Again, no apology. Breakfast was your typical Hampton Inn breakfast, it was fine. The eating area is small and the floor was sticky when walking on it. My tennis shoes stuck to the floor. Just not the level of other Hampton Inn Hotels and we have stayed in plenty. Honestly, I think I would skip this and look for something else in Springfield. We were very disappointed.

The room and overall property felt visibly dirty and poorly maintained. I found ants in my room and later observed staff walking around spraying consumer grade bug spray in common areas rather than what appeared to be professional pest management. At no point during a hotel stay should a guest have to worry about bugs crawling into their belongings. What disappointed me even more was the complete lack of follow through afterward. After providing direct feedback during my stay, I was told management would be contacted, points would be added to my account, and that a manager would personally follow up with me. None of those things happened. I understand that no property is perfect, and I generally extend a great deal of grace as someone who travels constantly. However, cleanliness, accountability, and communication matter. This experience fell far below the standard I have come to expect from Hilton.

My boyfriend had work meetings until 2:30 and we were in town to close on the selling of my house which was scheduled for 4pm. the time of check in we were informed that all the tvs in the hotel were inoperable and that they were working on applying credits for the inconvenience. We didn't make a fuss, just dealt with it knowing they would give us a credit The following day, while I was visiting family, the staff forced my boyfriend to end his meeting and leave the room at 1pm, even though he explained the arrangement. When I arrived at the hotel I inquired about getting a refund for the $50 I paid for the hours we didn't get and was told that they couldn't refund my money because I had somehow booked through expedia. That's when I found out that all their calls are forwarded from the local number to Expedia. Unfortunately, no one tells you you're talking to Expedia. I even called back to see if there was any indicator that I was talking to another company, there was not. Even my emailed receipt had no mention of it. After finding out they couldn't refund the money I inquired about the credit for the tv issues and they had the same answer, they couldn't do anything because it was Expedia. Which, had they told me that at check in, it would have been frustrating but manageable. However , the fact that I was mis lead by the front desk person, is no okay. At this point I'm frustrated for obvious reasons and the staff, including the GM acted as though I was a problem. If they had approached me with kindness and sympathy for the situation, I would have no beef with them, They are simply the messenger of bad news, but instead I got hatefulness. To add insult to injury jury, the hotel was virtually vacant, there was no reason to push us out early. Additionally, when I called Expedia about getting a refund, they put me on hold to talk to the front desk and the front desk denied my refund. So, you're telling me, they have no control on giving a credit, but they can deny me the refund?

I made a reservation for a 15-passenger van back in March. Three days before my pickup date, I called to confirm everything, and I was assured my reservation was set. On the morning of July 24, 2026, I received a call at 7:30 a.m., just 30 minutes before my scheduled 8:00 a.m. pickup. I was told the van had not been returned the night before and that they would call me as soon as it was returned or they figured something out. By 11:00 a.m., I still had not received a single update, so I drove to the Stanford office myself. At that point, I was given a completely different story--that the van had actually been in an accident and the back door would not open. This directly contradicted what I had been told earlier. I had also been at the Dirksen location, where I was told the van was never there, making the explanations even more confusing and inconsistent. I contacted the corporate office and spoke with a manager, but I still received no meaningful resolution or communication. The most frustrating part wasn't just that the van wasn't available--it was the lack of honesty, poor communication, and complete disregard for a reservation that had been made months in advance and confirmed just days before pickup. If the vehicle was unavailable, I should have been notified well before 30 minutes before pickup, and I certainly should not have been given conflicting explanations. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I cannot recommend doing business with a company that fails to honor reservations and cannot provide honest, timely communication when problems arise. read more
