I was supposed to be picked up at my body shop and then driven to the Post Falls branch to pick up a car they called me about earlier in the morning. They were 30 minutes late. When we arrived at the Post Falls branch, it was closed. They wanted me to go to the CDA branch, but since they picked. me up late I could not do that because I would be late for a meeting. The driver at first just wanted to leave me at the closed Post Falls branch. He refused to drive me home (it would be 5 min for him) and *kindly* agreed to let me out at an intersection closer to my home. I had to walk home. They called me later in the afternoon, but in the end still no car, since they could not find anybody to pick me up. I complained to my insurance person, and she prompted them to call me the next day, but still no car "Maybe later in the afternoon, if something gets returned", they said. I told them not to bother. It's less hassle being on one car while my other car is in the body shop than dealing with these "experts". On top of all, they are very thin-skinned and arrogant.

I asked an attendant about it, but she did not have time to look at the vehicle and said that I should take a picture of the damage. The next day I saw inside the trunk and noticed bits of wood as if a previous renter had put fire wood in the trunk. I wish I had opened the trunk when I picked up the car, but I was tired from a long day of travel and still had a full evening ahead of me. When I dropped off the vehicle in Chicago, there was no opportunity to discuss the issues with an attendant. It would be helpful to have an opportunity to view a vehicle before and after use with an attendant who can be a witness, but if they are all too busy and possibly underpaid how can Avis expect to randomly dole out exorbitant cleaning fees? I do not plan to use Avis in the future.

I called back immediately and since it was after hours I got an automated message. We arrived at 11:00. The communication was awful. We had a few things we could have done in the meantime if it wasn't ready. They kept saying it'll be just a bit longer. We left the store at 2:20! Then had to run our few errands. Thank goodness for Thrify Car Rental Asst Manager, he found a Corporate rental that needed to go to Seattle - arranged for us to drive it to our destination. Enterprise needs to grow some balls and do the right thing.
