If you ride a motorcycle, you probably like to travel and have an adventure. If twisting roads, great scenery, learning about other cultures, and exploring historic places you've heard about in the Bible, sound exciting; Israel is the place to go. My wife and I just returned from the Nov. 2014, 12 day tour. We enjoyed every minute of our journey and the tour far exceeded our expectations. The booking process: I booked the trip directly with the owner of the company: Ruth Anne Hannigan. She and her husband David are avid motorcycle riders, have personally led many tours to Israel, and know how to make the most out the short time there. The 12 days really flew by too quickly. The places visited: the first 3 days in Israel is done by tour van. Our local tour guide, Yuval DeJoannes spoke perfect English, and was quite knowledgable and experienced, explaining the historic significance of places visited. In all, there were about 20 historic and religious places explored. You can see the sample itinerary on Hannigan's website in the "Tour" section. Here are my favorites: City of Old Jerusalem, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is divided into 3 religious sections, a Catholic area, a Jewish area, and a Muslim area, Stations of the Cross Street, and walking on the same steps as Jesus did when he carried the Cross, the tunnel tour under the Wailing Wall, and finally exploring the Siloam Water tunnels under City of David. Motorcycle Riding: on the 4th day we went to Tel Aviv and picked up our motorcycles. Some had Suzuki VStrom 650's, I rode a Yamada TDM 900, a bike never imported into the US. The bikes were well maintained and had low miles. Although my wife rode most days on the back of my motorcycle with me, on the particular curvy roads with many switchbacks, she rode in the chase van so I can have lots of fun. She's a keeper. Israel is about the size of New Jersey. We drove south thru the Negev Desert to the beach town resort of Eliat on the Red Sea, Then north to the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Fortress Masada, another UNESCO site, finally reaching Mt Hermon at the Syrian border. One gripe I made to Ruth, my wife and I are beach goers, I wish we would have a free day to spend on the beautiful beaches. Ruth stated she would consider a beach day in future tours. The hotels we stayed at were clean, the included buffet breakfast and dinner were good meals, and the hotel staff were welcoming. Lunch was not included and averaged $10-$20. Security: The young Israel Defense Force soldiers could be seen everywhere, ensuring the peace. At no time was I worried about my safety and felt completely at ease. Our guide avoided the Palestine controlled area Gaza Strip, as there was report of rock throwing and protests. To sum up, I have done other motorcycle tours including Edelweiss; I will think highly of this trip as one of the best motorcycle tours I have ever been on and the most memorable. I commend Ruth and David for a job well done and providing me with such an enjoyable touring vacation.

Fortunately, we were quickly checked-in by a gentleman (I was so fatigued that I forgot to obtain his name) at the customer service desk. The gentleman provided us all with our keys (my parent's and sister had one room, while my wife and I had another) and a detailed rundown of the hotel's amenities (i.e., gym, indoor swimming pool, complimentary buffet-style breakfast, mini-market, and bar). Desiring to wind down and enjoy an adult beverage (or two), my wife and I headed down to the bar. The bar area is very comfortable and has a plenty of seating options. We were warmly greeted by a bartender named Megan who immediately inquired about our drinks of choice. For the first round we opted for vodka tonics and margaritas for the second round. Megan was so kind to hand us a remote to one of the televisions so that we could tune it to a station of our desire (at the time we were the only individuals at the bar). Megans drinks were absolutely delicious (especially her margarita) and she even provided us with popcorn to soak up the alcohol. After a much needed night of quality sleep (I forgot to mention that the rooms are very spacious and clean), my wife and I headed downstairs to grab some breakfast. That particular morning they had the following food & drink options: scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (complete with peppers and onions), a wide range of cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea. After enjoying the surprisingly good breakfast (hotel free breakfast can be hit or miss), we made our way to the gym. The gym had an exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical, and dumbbells up to 50 pounds...plenty of equipment to get in a good workout. We enjoyed our three day and two nights stay at the Springhill Suites by Marriott, I have bookmarked this hotel for future stays whenever I'm in town visiting my family in Murray!

If you are coming to Murray, well... at least you can buy booze now apparently. We did have a run in with a pretty methy-like-half-naked lady out on the patio late at night. She was interesting and talked an awful lot. I was actually kinda worried about her well being. This is a pretty decent place to stay with that said. Rates were reasonable even though I booked two rooms the wrong date the first time through Expedia. Lost that $350! It's my fault though. Still pisses me off. It was clean, smelled good, decent amenities, nice staff, place to sleep. Bed was actually comfortable. What else do you need I guess? There is a bar in the lobby with booze. The breakfast is typical blah. They do have biscuits & gravy though, so there is that. Bacon is paper thin. After that it's a bunch of breads and sugars. Don't eat that stuff! It's bad for you! We had a family reunion here and we had a very nice room looking out into the patio with access. I was actually shocked at how much event space was here at this hotel. Why?? I will probably never know. I have a decent amount of family in the area. Murray isn't a bad place these days. Heck I may even come back here someday to save the Murray meth lady. '25 - 69/111

Usually I use my own shampoo and conditioner, but the amenities provided were very nice so I used them. There were plenty of towels and washcloths. The room had a Keurig, microwave, and mini-fridge, which were nice touches. The beds were comfortable, with soft pillows and linens. I liked the light-up mirror in the bathroom for applying makeup. I do prefer a bathroom with a fan in a hotel, but it wasn't a huge bother. The breakfast was nice, plenty of options with several different hot selections. The two days I was there had different selections, so I'm guessing they vary things slightly by day. The breakfast room was small, though, and was full both times I was there. I noticed a few people eating in the lobby. The hotel is a little north of town, but right off the main road, making it easy to get to the University. I got just what i was looking for in a hotel on this trip. I didn't want to worry about anything, but also didn't need any extra amenities. If you're making a quick trip to Murray and also just want a nice place to sleep and keep your stuff, this is a great option.

I will start by generously offering the only compliment I can offer this establishment: the shower…read morein my second-floor room was wonderful. The tiled shower is very large and inviting, and the shower-head was large and under full pressure. The shower is why this establishment receives a greater-than one-star rating. Now, for the rest: the bedroom was disgustingly musty and there was visible water-damage on the ceiling. The smell from the mildew was overpowering and infected everything. The room's air was so damp and humid that even the sheets felt wet! Had I not needed a room late at night while traveling, and had I other options, I would have left this place. In fact, I should have left and slept in my vehicle- it would have been that much better. The bathroom layout is atrocious. When you open the door, the toilet is right in front of you... in the middle of the room! There is hardly enough room to walk around the commode in order to access the sink. The sheets were stained and looked dirty. I felt the need to inspect the bed and surrounding area for bugs. One more very important notice to anyone foolish enough to lodge here in the future: the curtains in my second-story room could not be pulled fully shut. As a result, there was a gap between curtains which allowed a stream of bright light to cascade into the room from the adjacent shopping center... all night long. It was awful. The staff were polite, and the young girl with the face full of piercings listened professionally and attentively to my concerns while I checked-out of the hotel. I will never return here. I will never recommend this place. Oh, and before I forget... there is no coffee maker in your room. If you want a cup of coffee you'll have to wait until at least 6am when the staff will brew a pot downstairs. That was frustrating, because I was awake all night in this nightmare room and was longing to leave when my darling wife awake at 5:45 a.m., and it would have been nice to have a cup of coffee in the room.

When entering the suite area there is a separate seating area and large bathroom separate from the room. The suite includes a full size ice machine, small refrigerator, bar, glassware, sink, microwave and large screen TV. The king size bed is so comfortable and overlooks a pretty park with a fountain. The bathroom is huge with a fabulous large bathtub. You can fill your tub full and not run out of hot water. I wish there had been some bubble bath liquid, maybe next time the hotel will provide bubbles? The bar and restaurant was fun and the service was great! We ordered the egg rolls, lobster and bang bang shrimp, large side salad and corn soufflé. Next time we will pass on the corn and bang bang shrimp, not our favorite. Everything was good just not what we were expecting. I would rather have the corn served with the pork chop on the menu because the corn is more like a dressing type dish and it is sweet with cinnamon. The bang bang shrimp was good but not memorable mainly because it was fried and the sauce served on the side. In the beautiful lobby there is a baby grand piano. Having someone playing would have been nice. The hotel is very very clean with free parking!! Everyone was friendly and willing to accommodate with a happy smile. So refreshing to come to a place where you feel relaxed, comfortable and pampered. Thank you for a memorable, affordable Presidential suite $250.00 a night stay, we will return!!
