After a long day of travel, my family and I pulled into the Springhill Suites by Marriott parking lot exhausted and ready to relax. Fortunately, we were quickly checked-in by a gentleman (I was so fatigued that I forgot to obtain his name) at the customer service desk. The gentleman provided us all with our keys (my parent's and sister had one room, while my wife and I had another) and a detailed rundown of the hotel's amenities (i.e., gym, indoor swimming pool, complimentary buffet-style breakfast, mini-market, and bar). Desiring to wind down and enjoy an adult beverage (or two), my wife and I headed down to the bar. The bar area is very comfortable and has a plenty of seating options. We were warmly greeted by a bartender named Megan who immediately inquired about our drinks of choice. For the first round we opted for vodka tonics and margaritas for the second round. Megan was so kind to hand us a remote to one of the televisions so that we could tune it to a station of our desire (at the time we were the only individuals at the bar). Megans drinks were absolutely delicious (especially her margarita) and she even provided us with popcorn to soak up the alcohol. After a much needed night of quality sleep (I forgot to mention that the rooms are very spacious and clean), my wife and I headed downstairs to grab some breakfast. That particular morning they had the following food & drink options: scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (complete with peppers and onions), a wide range of cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea. After enjoying the surprisingly good breakfast (hotel free breakfast can be hit or miss), we made our way to the gym. The gym had an exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical, and dumbbells up to 50 pounds...plenty of equipment to get in a good workout. We enjoyed our three day and two nights stay at the Springhill Suites by Marriott, I have bookmarked this hotel for future stays whenever I'm in town visiting my family in Murray! read more

It's ok. It's not new. It's not that bad though inside. It's in Murray, and if you are in Murray, you know there is not much in Murray. If you are coming to Murray, well... at least you can buy booze now apparently. We did have a run in with a pretty methy-like-half-naked lady out on the patio late at night. She was interesting and talked an awful lot. I was actually kinda worried about her well being. This is a pretty decent place to stay with that said. Rates were reasonable even though I booked two rooms the wrong date the first time through Expedia. Lost that $350! It's my fault though. Still pisses me off. It was clean, smelled good, decent amenities, nice staff, place to sleep. Bed was actually comfortable. What else do you need I guess? There is a bar in the lobby with booze. The breakfast is typical blah. They do have biscuits & gravy though, so there is that. Bacon is paper thin. After that it's a bunch of breads and sugars. Don't eat that stuff! It's bad for you! We had a family reunion here and we had a very nice room looking out into the patio with access. I was actually shocked at how much event space was here at this hotel. Why?? I will probably never know. I have a decent amount of family in the area. Murray isn't a bad place these days. Heck I may even come back here someday to save the Murray meth lady. Prior to our arrival at this facility at 4am we were promised a late check out because we can't start the work truck until 245pm I'm not sure where the disconnect came in aside from social or racial prejudice. They told my brother that he wasn't a gold member & that because he was only a silver member he had to leave at 1230p because the entire hotel was magically booked although there weren't any cars in the parking lot. The hotel is nice the staff is trash and the only reason he isn't a gold member is because his company and his wife typically book his hotel rooms he travels and stays at the Marriott atleast 2days a week. DO NOT STAY HERE! I had a very unpleasant stay at this hotel, and the staff were nothing but rude, dismissive, and defensive when alerted of issues. I stayed here for Murray State homecoming and paid over triple what you would normally pay, due to event surge pricing. I was placed in a room on the first floor that was definitely not worth the $300 spent on it. It was very dark, half of the lights didn't work, and the faucet only ran very hot water. I am non-confrontational and would typically overlook that, but then they hosted a party in their lobby and conference rooms against to my room. The DJ was playing extremely loud music and at 11:30 when I couldn't sleep, I called the front desk. They claimed they "couldn't do anything" about the party (they called it that), even though they were hosting the group. When asked when it would stop they said "I don't know, 1 AM?". I didn't sleep even though I paid just as much, if not more, as everyone else. When I politely brought this up with the staff at checkout, they snapped back with "well, it's homecoming" and when I said I paid a lot of money and couldn't sleep she said "everyone else did too." When I said that wasn't acceptable especially when the party was not disclosed to guests upon booking, she just said "we couldn't have moved you anyways. we'll just take this as a learning experience to tell people about the party." There was absolutely NO effort to make things right, nor accountability. My family has had similar issues with this hotel before and their abhorrent service. We will never be staying here again. If you're considering staying here, I recommend choosing literally anywhere else. read more

I want to talk about Tara, Springhill's bartender on duty tonight in the elegant yet comfortable hotel bar. This is an open concept lobby that despite its trendy and cool decor radiates warmth from the delightful front desk staff. Bartenders are usually a combination of psychiatrist, partner in crime, and spouse away from hone. However Corporate bartenders lack the soul of the bar keep n your local wAtering hole. They push buttons for pre measured pours and lack the sensitivity of holding a unique space in their customer's day. Their customers are transient so no need to develop that special relationship between server and thirsty customer. Tara blew it out of the water. Half my age, she immediately became my BFF with a warmth and authenticity I've never encountered in a corporate service professional. She poured a perfect glass of delicious Sauvignon Blanc. I had just experienced an emotionally draining day. And she made me laugh and cry almost immediately. A perfect blend of professionalism and my new BFF for the night. She effortlessly managed her growing clientele and continued to make me feel like her favorite customer as the night progressed. She made my night when I stayed here at last month, and she made my night again tonight. Tara, you're a gift to this planet and were there for me in a fragile moment. You're one of the reasons this property was nominated as one of Marriotts top 5 properties last year. You go girl. read more

This place is fantastic! Staff is super friendly and helpful. I have a suite. Love how toilet / sink is separate from shower / sink so no one is left waiting to get ready. Beds are comfortable and room Is super. Lean. The living room area has a desk and couch. I can log into my Netflix account from the Smart TV. There is a mini fridge and microwave. The bar area is very nice and love the outdoor seating area!!! The gym is great and clean. Pool is small and just for hanging out. It's close to highway, MSU, shopping and anything you need. I made a reservation through the Marriott app and realized within a few hours that I had reserved the wrong location and actually needed the Marriott in Paducah, about 30 minutes away. This Springhill Suites refused to transfer my reservation to the other Marriott property and took my money without providing any service (I believe that could be defined as theft). I stayed here while traveling with my soccer team to play Murray State. It was much nicer than the usual hotels we've stayed at. My first impression pulling up was that it looked newer, well kept and well designed exterior. We went inside to find the front desk with a bouquet of suckers-- like I said here with my soccer team so you know those were taken advantage of! It was around 8 pm so the bar was open and had a few people there. We went to our rooms and to my surprise it was huge! I am not totally sure what size we had but there were two large beds and a living area with mini fridge and counter. The bathroom was divided into two areas-- one with sink and tub shower and the other with sink and toilet. It would be very handy if you had more people in the room. The continental breakfast was nothing special. The eggs were bland, bacon-- eh, and the waffle maker wasn't even on. I don't expect too much from a complimentary breakfast but was disappointed that the waffle maker was not operational. My husband and I stayed there over Memorial Day weekend b/c we wanted to spend time with our grandkids. The grandkids wanted to use the pool but were told NO b/c the hotel had issues in the past with "large group parties". Hello, small children do not equate as a large party! Most of the time we were there NOBODY was in the pool and they denied us a few hours of quality time with our family. Aside from that the hotel was nice with large rooms but also only 1 and a half years old so in time it will run down quickly b/c the decor was cheaply done. read more

The rooms were OK. I needed 7 rooms for a variety of days over a week. I called the number listed for the hotel. I got an e-mail conformation for each room. My wife and I arrived first. When the next people were arriving, I went to the front desk to re-confirm everything. I found out that they had booked us an 8th room. I said that was a mistake and they said no problem, they would cancel it. When I got home and got my bill, I found that they had billed me 2 nights for the cancelled room. When I called, they said that they had not booked it. I verified my phone that I had called them. They said when I pushed the button for reservations, it went to corporate Marriott and they had made the mistake. The manager and GM said that they were a franchise, and therefore would not reimburse me $314. When I told them I spent $5000 between rooms and the bar, they told me did didn't matter and that I was out of luck. read more

The Hotel appears to be new and the rooms are large. The problem was my friend found a BED BUG in his bed! He reported it and how it was handled was unprofessional. He had stayed two nights. They were not going to comp his room. They ended up after much discussion taking off one night. No manager on duty to take care of anything. After much discussion from her manager responded. I won't be staying here again due to I would think this would be a 911!! I don't want to bring one home, I don't want the bill to treat my home, I was uncomfortable leaving there! A nice new hotel with spacious rooms and a modern decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This was a great stopover experience on our road trip and I really appreciated that they had EV charging stations (one standard and two Tesla). I had significant issues with someone trying enter my room after 3 in the morning. I got no response from the property after multiple attempts, however once I entered a review on TA , the Asst GM responded. Of course the GM was able to quickly respond on the TA site, but has been to ill to contact me, since June 27. I have cut and pasted dialogue between myself and the hotel. I have redacted the names. It took over two weeks to get a response. There I am realizing that the only thing between me and that person is the safety latch. Do I open the door? Do I call for help, do I call 911 (should have in hindsight) call the front desk ( did this for two reasons, I needed help and I was concerned for the safety of others who might encounter the same situation). All between me and whatever is the safety latch. Yet I'm told over and over he/she never opened the door. Like I'm an imbecile and don't know what I'm talking about. Now I'm told a key was never used, so my door was randomly selected for this person to try to forcibly enter. This person figured the best way to get in a room was to ram the door? I was there I saw the gap in the door. I almost unlatched the safety latch to speak with the person. In fact I had a real tough time getting the door to close when I entered the room that night, so spent extra time making sure it locked. Do you have to slide a sofa in front of your door to sleep at night? Sorry I can't buy that. I also will tell you I have some level of integrity, have you asked the guests who posted positive glowing reviews to remove their review? You can't compensate me to remove what happened. However as a loyal Marriott Guest ( see number of stays lifetime, over 5 years of my life) I gave you multiple chances to communicate with me and more than a reasonable amount of time to communicate with me. Yet my situation wasn't important enough. I get it. Since you have expanded service has detracted. I get it. Its not the same Marriott of 1998. But now the old fart from Georgia who stays with us 75 or more nights a year complains a couple times a year, some years not at all, gets woken on occasion by fire alarm malfunctions or tests doesn't say a word, stands up for employees when they are being dressed down by other guests unfairly. Picks up all trash in his room, clears his plate in the dining area,quietly shuts his door when working all night or leaving early, says no problem when he almost wets his pants trying to enter his room because the key wasn't properly set up when he leaves the front desk, multiple times on the same visit. We stayed here for 2 nights for our son's commencement ceremony at MSU. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. I like how the front desk associates are very polite and accommodating. We requested for a late check out since we have a late flight and they granted us a 3:00pm check out. Customer service at its best! read more

As a Titanium Elite member I have been fortunate to stay at many wonderful Marriott properties. Unfortunately, I was charged by this hotel and never had the chance to actually stay on the property. I booked on points and had to cancel at the last minute due to Covid. I called Marriott Guest Services to cancel and even offered up my points. I was told that it would not be necessary but later the hotel charged my Marriott credit card. While I would be happy to discuss the situation, unfortunately after three calls to Marriott Customer Service and two messages left directly with the GMs voice mail they have not provided the courtesy of and discussion. Keep your money but also you deserve a one for your lack of response and for the "say one thing and do another" charge tactics. read more

For unexpected reasons I had to stay in Murray until 9 p.m. on the day of my check out. With COVID, hardly anything was open so I asked the manager if I could get a 2:00 check out so that I didn't have to sit in a car the entire time (it was over 100 degrees out). The manager said they don't offer late checkouts and I offered to pay $50 (It's common for hotels to charge a $50 late check out). She rudely told me no and said I'd have to pay for a full day. This is somewhat a new hotel and I believe the manager doesn't fully understand customer service in the hotel industry. I am a Marriott platinum elite member staying at Marriott properties for over 1000 nights. This is the worst Marriott property in terms of customer services. I was charged for a no show by the hotel by mistake. After 3 phone calls and over 45 minutes they can not fix this simple mistake. The front desk stuff even make up possible reasons of the charges such as a dog in the room, check out earlier etc. After talking to the manager on my second call the issue can not be resolved because the manager has to talk to the general manager who is not available for two more days. I must say its a beautiful hotel but they have serious management issues. I recently booked a three night stay for a business trip. Upon arriving we realized the hotel was too far from where we need to be everyday so we asked the front desk clerk if we would cancel the other nights and just stay that one night. She said yes no problem and canceled the other nights (so we thought). After arriving home I realized my card had been charged for two nights. I called and talked to the front desk manager Robin Hiter who said she would look into it and call me back. She did not call me back she emailed me and said i would have had to cancel through Expedia which made no since. The front desk clerk said nothing about that and if she would have then I would have called Expedia but i thought it was taken care of. After multiple calls and emails to Robin Hiter with no response i called and asked for the hotel managers contact information in which i was transferred to her voicemail and never received a call back. Stayed in july 14-17 First morning there came down to breakfast at 840am no waffle mix. No fruit. No eggs there were six people in our party only three ate. 920 am more food arrived but we were now a hour behind told front desk twice. Wrote online to Marriott that day and no response. Pool was cold for three days with no whirlpool and so small only 5 people at a time in pool. My sister left a day early because it was so bad her family wouldn't come down for breakfast Sunday morning. Our bathroom floors were sticky. Our wifi only worked for half our party. The rooms looked nice but smelled of stale smoke and the temp was never right. Told front desk our problems checking out we needed to stay another day she didn't apologize just said she was from another hotel i asked for a reduced rate for all the issues she said she couldn't do it would call me later she did and reduced our rate $12. Sunday morning there was no waffle mix and iron not working. I travel for work and haven't experienced disorganization like this and when we told staff nothing got done. I posted on social media I have thousands of followers and travel a lot. I'm in Murray ky alone three times a year my followers already know about Saturday morning and that no one contacted me back. Finally Monday evening I got a email that they were sorry they didn't do there best. I posted on TripAdvisor and Marriott called offered a 30% off coupon on my next visit to delete my post. I said no we would not be returning and people needed to know what they were getting into if they stayed there. The best western is clean and very reasonable only pet friendly hotel in Murray. Holiday inn express is newer had no issues at all there it was $12/night more but worth it read more
