I rented a Mid- Size SUV. When I got there, they told me that they had a long wait list for a SUV, they didn't have enough SUVs, and they closed in just one hour. So I had no choice but to switch to a Sedan, a Nissan Altima. The workers there were nice, so that's an upside, but still disappointed that I didn't receive the car I paid for. Why offer availability for a car they don't even have availability for? Why not have more of the most popular car if they know it's going to have a large amount of people wanting it? The website even advertises renting a SUV as one of its major draws. At least the workers were nice and explained everything to me, so I'm not as angry as I could be, I just wish they didn't pretend they had availability for something they didn't have. read more

I dig this location on Covington Pike and the staff do a great job as well. They're always very friendly and do their best to make sure that your experience with them is to your satisfaction. This location has Certified used cars, trucks, vans and SUVs for sale.You can even do the transactions online and they will deliver the car to you. That's pretty cool and I imagine some people actually do it :-) Bottom line: Avoid the truck rental in Memphis and the airport location is hit or miss but this Covington Pike location is a really good one! read more

Horrible horrible horrible. I had to rent a car from here because the insurance of the person who hit me uses Enterprise. I had to get the car before going to work so I asked them to have the car ready to go. There was no car ready. Then someone pulled in to return a car and they tried to put me in the car while the man was still in the lobby! I asked them why would they do that since it hadn't been cleaned. They fidgeted around more and put me in a another car that clearly hadn't been cleaned inside or out. The former renter even left a hat in the back windshield! And worst of all the car reeked of smoke! REEKED! I had to get to work and didn't have time to get them to swap it out but everything I put in that car came out smelling of smoke- including me. I thought I could bear it but the body shop experienced delays and finally I got pulled over in the car. The dang tags had been expired nearly a year! Horrible horrible horrible read more

In person staff was so rude and unhelpful, online booking said they had cars available and phone representative said they had cars available and let me book a reservation and the lady at the desk said that doesn't reflect the stock they have on hand. Turns out they don't know how to update their online stock to show they don't have cars available and tried to blame it on someone else. Suffice to say I have to be in DIRE need to ever book with enterprise again. The service at the Memphis airport and white station locations however is pretty good. read more

If I could put a minus I would! I was scheduled to take my car to bodyshop so called to confirm that I had a car and would be picked up. The woman told me that they wouldn't have a car until 3 hours after my appointment time. When I tried to discuss this being an issue she proceeded to talk over me and tell me what I was going to do and that I should have already talked to them. I asked her multiple times to let me speak to someone else and she continued to talk. I told her to "shutup!" Which was rude I know, but frustration caused me to lose it. She then told me if I didn't "calm down" that they would not rent to me at all! Then she explained to me the amount the insurance would pay and I would have to pay extra. I finally was allowed to speak to another person and got calmer. I got on phone with insurance company, settled issue on what type of car I would get and made an appointment with a different location. read more

We were looking to update my wife's vehicle and checked some vehicles on Enterprises used car sales website. We let them know we had planned to trade our present vehicle in when we decide to purchase our next vehicle. We went into this thinking we knew what we wanted. When we got there, Mike asked us about the vehicle we had told them we planned to test drive and what were our expectations from this vehicle. We took it for a test drive and it did not have all the bells and whistles the wife wanted. Mike brought out a different vehicle, we drove it and the wife fell in love with the car. In my wife's own words she stated not only did Mike listen to me when I told him what I was looking for, she said "he heard me' . As we all know listening and hearing are two different things. Did you know Enterprise Car Rental has a policy that states if anyone in your household has a bad track record with their car returns or payments that it could affect all individuals in your house-hold or at the given address? My 30 year old son who happens to temporarily live with me due to the circumstances,he did business with Enterprise Car Rental. Unfortunately, he fell on bad terms with the company due to his alleged unresponsible actions. I was told by Enterprise that my son had kept the car too long on occasions and that he also owed them money. While voluntarily telling me all my son's business, they then proceeded to request that I make the payment for him (as if he was a 10 year old kid). I refused and they further explained that they would not be able to rent a car to me (even though I'd been an excellent customer with them) due to the fact, that I stayed at the same address as my son and anyone else at that (our) address would no longer qualify to rent cars from their company (Enterprise). The associate also loudly blurted out that the address had been "black listed" and made a "DNR" which means Do Not Rent. I called the corporate office in which the lady there confirmed that this was their policy and the Enterprise associates in my area were quoting accurate information based on their policy. It did no good to state how pre-judged and unfair that seem as she too, were just following Enterprise's policy. By the way, I called several people on their management team, left messages in which one guy was out of town and his referred assistants or contacts did not return my messages left on their answering devices. I am still finding this hard to believe that other house hold members are actually punished, black-listed and considered what I was told by the Enterprise associate...On the "DNR" Do Not Rent List due to the actions of another. Needless, to say I was able to rent a car at Hertz with welcoming and "happy arms". It was my first experience with Hertz and I can say it was beautiful after the gruesome, embarrassing and disappointing experience felt, as a result of Enterprise's enforced Policy. In closing, I hope Enterprise policy writer(s) revised or re-consider the due consequences for this clause in policy. Personally,I am forced to take my business elsewhere and I do intend to continue to share this experience with others. Where do I start...I had an appointment at the Memphis location on Covington pike. It was curbside so customers couldn't go inside. My appointment was on Friday at 4:30 PM I waited over 45 minutes for my car to be ready and to be signed in. The representative asked me for proof of insurance but I called before I came and asked them what I needed, but nobody told me that I needed insurance. When I got my vehicle it was filthy, dirty on the inside and out. It was so dirty did I ask the representative could They wash my car over and when I got it back it was still dirty I was on my lunch break and had no time for them to wash it again so I took it as is. When I return the car the following Tuesday I hand wash the car myself before handing the car back to them. my refund for my deposit was supposed to come 3 to 5 business days but I am still waiting on it. When I went back to the branch to ask why I haven't received it they claim that it was my banks fault and no one else's. I will never rent a car with this location ever again. read more

Well let me start off by saying that I did contact the customer service portion of their website TWICE with my concerns and have never received feedback to date (days after the first email sent). I like to try and resolve things before posting a review, but in this case the manager was zero help and I received no response online so here goes..... Our experience started out at the Millington, TN location, WHAT. A. JOKE!! This was an insurance claim as my husband had a wreck. We called Millington first to make sure they knew we were coming. We get there at the time we said, there was one employee who was handling phone calls before the people there in person, and they basically had NOTHING. A big old van was it. Vans make me car sick, that wasn't happening. They did have a car that we would have been thrilled with, but it had a crack in the windshield and they wouldn't reschedule the service so we couldn't get it. We didn't mind the crack. The attendant was definitely not the most hospitable person and that's putting it nicely. We left, very angry and empty handed. PS we were planning on leaving town THE NEXT DAY at 5 a.m. and needed the rental the night before in order to make that happen. That same Wednesday evening we reserved a vehicle at the Covington Pike location to be picked up at 7:30 a.m. (still pushing us way back on our trip, but we'd accepted that). We get there on time, initially the experience was going well with a nice lady waiting on us. Then time started ticking by. Again, pick up was SCHEDULED for 7:30!! About 8:30 we REALLY start getting pissed off because each minute that ticks by, the later we get on the road to head out of town. The car was out there in the cleaning area waiting to be cleaned. My husband watched the employee just sitting there doing nothing. Finally, the lady that had waited on us up front, comes out and she's like "OMG I don't know what is taking so long" and SHE herself goes over there and starts cleaning the car while this lack luster employee, that was supposed to be doing it, just sits there and watches. She then gets the manager. I think he may of cared even less than the person not cleaning. My husband finally got the car around 8:45-9:00 a.m. You know, the one we were SUPPOSED to be in at 7:30 a.m. So by the time we got home with the car, got it loaded, we weren't on the road till around 10:00 for our trip. This caused us to hit every school zone possible that afternoon before reaching our final destination. The traffic was horrendous. We arrived at dark wasting an entire day. To add insult to injury, we discover, a day later, that this car had EXPIRED TAGS!! They went out in January!! We were on pins and needles, hoping we wouldn't get pulled over the whole trip. The experience didn't end there, my husband returns the vehicle yesterday (Wednesday 3-11-21), tries to talk to someone about the less than desirable service we received, and basically got the shoulder shrug again. Told the attendant that the vehicle had very expired tags, he mumbled, "well that just happens" and shrugged his shoulders. Before we left, they had already cleaned the car and sent someone else on their way with it, I assume with the expired tags yet again. This was a horrible experience from the Wednesday evening start at the Millington location (I don't even know how that one remains open) down to the Covington Pike experience. At least the ladies up front were nice at Covington Pike. The manager, for our experience, was a waste of time. We found both locations VERY unprofessional. read more

My pickup location is in the middle between two Enterprise locations, but this location is closer to my dropoff post-rental, so I made the reservation here. It's 13 minutes, 5.6 miles, but they refuse to pick me up. Transferred my reservation to the other location, who just called and told me they have no cars. So now I'm sitting here in limbo waiting to see if they might get a return later in the day. If I can get my own ride to the Covington Pike location, they'll happily rent me my reserved car. So much for "We'll go the extra mile"! Update: When I called back to the Covington Pike location, the manager agreed to have someone pick me up, so she was willing to go an extra mile. However a few minutes later I got a call back from them that they had no cars. What? I'd had a 12 o'clock reservation, and it was still before 12. I wanted to give everyone an update on my review/complaint from 8/1/2019. I had a terrible experience with the Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Covington Pike. I received several emails from the first response team from Enterprise telling me I was very important to them blah blah blah! They told me several times that the Manager would be reaching out to me. The phone call/email never came. Never did I ever speak to ANYONE from Enterprise that could discuss my issues and try to make amends. I visited the Enterprise Rental Car location on Covington Pike at 10:40 A.M. When I arrived waited for 2 hrs to be told they had no vehicles, I was advised by one of their CSR'S, that they would have to go to another location to get a pickup truck in which was the vehicle that my family needed, and it would be available at 2pm. I called to be told that they still had no Truck available, however the Manager assured me that I would get a truck today. After waiting a another 2hrs at home to be picked up from home by another representative to be taken to retrieve the Truck, I was advised at this point the policy has changed that you could only rent Trucks with a Credit Card and the deposit is now $300.00. Now keep in mind and have been in contact with at least 4 people and no one had explained that at all. I had no problem with the amount of the deposit , however I had a problem that everyone knew I needed a specific type of vehicle at no time did anyone feel the need to tell me of the changes, as they are not posted in the building. So instead of the Manager stepping up and taking care of the issue he was like oh well basically. I spoke with a very sweet young lady that tried to assist in every way although she has only been there a week and still learning she showed more concern than the Manager. She tried to get him to come to talk to me, he began to close the location and never addresses me all. The polite thing that he should have done was to honor my reservation put me in a vehicle of my choice especially since, I have been a longtime customer and waited all day for nothing. This has been one of the worse experiences that I have ever encountered. Great customer service goes along way. This is opportunity for training. read more

I really enjoy renting with enterprise and, in Memphis, I prefer to book at this location over the location nearest my house (downtown). These guys have the best service--holding the door open for me, checking the car as carefully as I do, and making sure I get the car that I prefer. Most recently, my everyday car had to go in for service, so I rented from this location. The mechanic found additional electrical problems and ended up keeping my everyday car several extra days. This location communicated with me about an adjusted return schedule, and made sure I was not without transportation so I could return the car whenever it was convenient for me. Enterprise is great for renting. The rates are great, their salespeople are friendly and I have never had a problem with my rental. However, it would be nice if the Covington location would develop a number system for customers to prevent long wait times. I had a reservation and still waited 25 minutes before anyone came to help. The location just need to develop a system for returns and rentals since this location is the busiest. read more
