My wait time was minimal and the driver was very professional and friendly. I was able to get in my rental car and be on my way in a matter of 10 minutes. I was initially pleased that the Lenexa enterprise local manager, Austin, informed me that he would have available a mustang convertible as I requested for my and my wife's 43rd wedding anniversary road trip from Kansas to Ohio, and then back to Kansas. However, what I did not expect was to receive a filthy mustang convertible that was not safe to drive because of the rear bald tires. When I picked up the rental, the mustang had these issues with it: 1. Gas indicator showed that there was only 3/8 gas in the vehicle. 2. Oil needed to be added (I had to personally add 1 quart of oil). 3. Rear tires were bald (especially the rear passenger tire), and should have never been put on a vehicle to rent to a customer. This made the car extremely dangerous when we had to travel over wet pavement. 4. Incorrect tire pressure with the rear passenger tire -- and had to keep adding air. 5. Center console dirty. 6. All inside windows (including windshield) were filthy from cigarette smoke. 7. Areas between seat/console and seat/doorjambs were filthy (we found someone's Bic cigarette lighter in this area). 8. Steering wheel was sticky. 9. Driver's side interior door had chocolate on it near the window. 10. Door handles were gross. 11. Mirrors were filthy. 12. Seats were dirty and needed to be cleaned. 13. Floor needed vacuumed much better. When an employee walked around the car with me during the pick-up "experience," he failed to write down all of the exterior problems with the car that I had pointed out to him. Nevertheless, I left the enterprise local branch to go put gas in the mustang, and then to drive 10 miles to home so my wife and I could put our suitcases in the car to begin our trip. When my wife saw the condition of the car, she was FURIOUS! She insisted that she and I needed to clean the car before we begin the trip. My wife also INSISTED that I call Austin, the local manager and inform him of the condition of the car he rented out. [For the next 2-3 hours, we began wiping down the interior of the car with sanitizing sheets, cleaning all interior windows from the cigarette smoke, adding oil to the vehicle, adding air to the deflated bald passenger rear tire, etc.] I called manager Austin and shared with him the condition of the car, and especially alerted him to the fact that the bald tires are a safety issue. Austin simply became argumentative and defensive. I could not understand why he failed/refused to offer any resolution or solution, and figured that he likely has no real business and customer service experience. He could have suggested that the rear tires be immediately replaced, but that didn't occur. He could have suggested a different vehicle, but that didn't occur. He could have even apologized for the vehicle not meeting our expectation, but even that didn't occur. When I asked Austin why he couldn't even fill up the gas tank of the rental, he told me it was because they had been too busy. So, I presume they were also too busy to do the basic cleaning and maintenance for the vehicle, and to make certain that their rental was safe to drive. Frankly, my impression of Austin is that he needs substantial training (or re-training) about how to address customer dissatisfaction, about how to work towards resolutions and solutions, and about how to manage the cleanliness and safety of his rental fleet. I cannot begin to share how dissatisfied my wife and I were in Austin's attitude when I called him to share about the condition of the vehicle, including the bald tires and need to add oil. UPDATE: As requested by Care@ehi.com, on July 18, 2021 I sent my email to permit enterprise to engage the regional management team at Lenexa. I received a reply email that stated, "I have engaged the regional management team at Lenexa and they will contact you as soon as they can." I followed up with Care@ehi.com five (5) more times, and still have NOT had anyone from enterprise reach out to me "to further investigate," or to show any interest whatsoever. read more

Currently in a bad rental. Dropped my car off at KC Coachworks for a repair. Let me start by saying that the employee that brought me the car was professional and this review is if the car itself. As I was in the highway I turned on the air and the car filled with a mildewed Smokey smell. The tank had less than half a tank of gas and it had not been washed and the side windows were smeared and filmy. The diver seat and passenger seat were both stained. I rent a car every week for work from Avis and have never had an issue it this car is gross. The exterior is dirty and has tar on it. Get it right enterprise. Disappointed . Update Well I returned the car and told them about the issue and asked for another one instead. They apologized for the odor and that the person that helped me smelled it. However when I asked if it was normal to rent cars without properly turning them over I was told that they tray and most times they can't get it done. They take turns between customers driving to the gas station to get gas or try to have them cleaned and if they are busy they just don't do it. So they gave me a Camry that had the following. Splatter side windows where the card had been driven in the rain. Just under the full tank mark. Back seat fold down middle arm rest and cup holder had dry sticky run marks from liquid spilled in the holder. In each one of the door interior arm rest in the backseat had crumbs. The center seat had something smeared or poorly cleaned. The review mirror was dirty and again there was a stain on the interior liner above the passenger vehicle. It did not however smell. There was however an opportunity to do a better job postering this car. Trying is not the same as doing so please evaluate this location and fix the deficiencies. I am now removing my three star and giving it a one. You had a chance for service recovery and you failed. Why give me another sub par car. Oh yeah. I threw away the Starbucks wrapper that slid out from under the seat the very first time I apples the brakes for you that. Oh one last thing. Whoever rode in the back seat had long blond hair. It is all over and in the back window are. You can even see it each time you look in the rear view mirror. read more

Made an online sameday reservation to rent a car from Saturday to Monday, for which I received a reservation number. Upon arrival to this Enterprise location, I was told that they have no cars to rent and basically my reservation confirmation number was useless.... Seriously? Why have an online booking tool that does not check inventory, or at least warn you of the possibility of the location being low on inventory.... Tried using Enterprise out of convenience, I guess I learned my lesson... National and Hertz NEVER turned me away.... Bait and switched me into a rundown car with excessive mileage that broke down within days (away from home), and left me stranded. Zero help, subzero service. I "was" a 40 year customer with Enterprise, got stuck with a falling apart late model POS not worth (literally) $500. Never again. Hertz and Avis from here on out. I had a bad experience in dropping off car at this location and I usually give 3 star for bad service. I am giving 1 star for this. Firstly, I see the manager had no smile face and didn't show interest in the way he talk. Secondly, I was there 20 minutes before the closure, as he was slow in taking the details he crossed 2 minutes to the closing time of the store and they normally have drop-off service to customers. I asked for drop-off and he said we were closed 2 mins back. Finally, I forgot to refuel and it's my bad - I accepted and said I will go to refuel. He said he will charge somewhere at 3.47 as the store is closing in few minutes but when I see the final estimate that came to my mail - it was charged 5.50- i spoke to him about this and he said it is already charged we cannot do anything. Not even a sorry for committing 3.47 price. I don't recommend this place. Try to avoid this place. One star that I gave are for two other young representatives - who know how to greet customers. read more

I have rented from this Enterprise both personally and professionally for several years. It is by far, the best location in town! Their staff is very friendly and professional and I cannot speak highly enough of the branch manager, John. I was recently in an accident and had to rent a car until I found a new one. John took care of me personally and made the whole stressful situation okay. When I had to keep the car longer than anticipated, his response was, "No problem!" He has always been very kind and understanding of all situations and has gone above and beyond to ensure that I am always driving a top notch car with the best gas mileage for my long trips. My son was in a car accident and this vehicle was so we were not without a car (I drove the rental as he was not old enough to legally drive their cars). This vehicle was supposed to be completely paid for by USAA out of an insurance claim. First of all it started out a little annoying as we tried to just go first thing in the morning and was told we had to make an appointment, we made it over my lunch hour and I picked up my son at his school which was 30 minutes from my work. They only had 2-3 cars available at the time and gave me a Nissan Altima. I really didn't have issues with the car itself (although it had a slight smoke smell in a supposed non smoking vehicle). When going through everything I thought I had waived the vehicle protection coverage as I'm on an extremely tight budget and the other insurers company was paying, not to mention my own insurance is full coverage so there would be no reason this coverage would be needed. Somehow in signing everything I apparently agreed to this unbeknownst to me. Today I went to drop off the car as this is the last day insurance would pay & I was told I owed the vehicle protection at $197!! The guy that rented the car to us was the same one working this evening and he swore he went over all this with me when I originally dropped the car of and actually said now I was accusing him of lying (I can't believe he would say this to a customer and make me feel like trash). In the end I was so upset they reduced the vehicle protection insurance to half the cost but this was still $101 I wasn't prepared for or could afford & I feel truly scammed. If you go here be very careful what you are signing as they will try to pull one over on you!! If it's possible I'll drive further to go to a different location in future if a rental car is ever again needed. read more

We rented cars from this location approx. 20 times last year with each rental on the average a week or more. Last week we rented again from the location and for a week turning the car in on a Saturday night. On Monday morning we received a call the facility saying that there was damage to the roof of the car and that the damage was our responsibility to correct. When we returned the car on Saturday there was no damage to the roof. The damage happened over the weekend on their lot. My wife has rented cars from the same location on the average of two times per month for years now and going forward we will now be directing our business to a more reputable facility wherein customers are treated fairly and with respect. read more

As the MCI car rental tax is incredibly expensive, if I am traveling to KC for a family visit, I often us this location as it is near my destination. The sales staff is very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and willing to assist in any way possible. (In fact, every Enterprise location I've every been to has had wonderful staff.) The only reason for not giving this location 5 stars, is that the cars are always filthy on the outside, and the radio is always preset to a series of rock stations. Maybe the cars are so dirty because they don't have a covered area to wash the cars, but I would imagine that that considering the age of the average car renter and renters who might be visitors, it would only take a minute to preset the first two radio preset buttons to the local news/weather station and maybe the local NPR station. read more

Picking up our car took 10 minutes tops! There was a little hiccup with the availability of the rental car but, it's a holiday weekend so, that's understandable. I agree with Frank about this Enterprise location. last year for my class reunion out of state- i rented online a car for a week on my own dime - my dealings with other Enterpise locations in the city- one once let me sit for two hours at a repair shop! this was a great experience. i got a great deal on the week rental online- my insurance when they called was concerned about this rental was my car okay? the nice rep assured her quickly that no i was simply going to a reunion they had listened when i said why i was renting! i was in and out in no time both picking up and dropping off- and they gave me a great car a new Galant- to make the trip. read more

When I used to live here I rented from this location. I was in town on business and the airport rentals are outrageously high. I went ahead and reserved a car here. I got here and the staff was pleasant and friendly. What helped also was I called ahead and asked what I needed to make the rental process easier. They supplied me with the information. Upon arrival I was greeted and the process was fast. On returning my vehicle it was just the same east and painless. I actually have to go back for business and already have reserved another car here. read more

Okay. I actually created this account just to pass the word along about this recent experience I had with Enterprise. We had to have our car in the body shop for some work and set everything up thru our insurance. I called Enterprise as instructed and they assured me they would have a car ready for me the day I needed it and would allow me to pick what was ever in my budget. We showed up to pick up the car and expressed our need to get in and out as quickly as possible. The manager saw our insurance covered us up to 30.00 dollars a day. She offered her top of the line luxury car to us for the 30.00 and only asked we pay the tax difference. We jumped on the deal and she had is out of there in probably 5-6 minutes. We took the car back in a week. Quick check in. There was a simple question about the bill and the guy just said don't worry about it and knocked it in half and then we were on our way. This was a more than pleasant experience and I did not expect it and that is why I am writing this review. You just don't see this kind of customer service these days and things like this should be pointed out. read more

Saying I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service is an understatement. First let me state I know it is my responsibility to make sure I have all my personal belongings. I turned the car in at 7:15, which is after hours, on Friday. The minute I dropped my keys in the drop box I realized I left my glasses in the car on the visor with my clip. I called the office and left a message at that moment stating I left my glasses in the car. Yes, I called at 7:20. At that time I asked for a return call so I could go pick them up. Not hearing from them I stopped by on my way to work Monday. Guess what, they rented the car again without getting the glasses. When dealing with Mitch he said he would call the customer and call me back. Mitch never called back. I called Tuesday and spoke with Mitch again, he advised the customers brother has the car and hasn't heard back again, but the car is due back on Thursday at 10 am and he would call once returned. Not hearing by 5 pm on Thursday, I call, again. A rep stated the car has not been returned. They would call me first thing in the morning. Again, I was told I would be called, but never once was a call returned to me. I again had to call on Friday at 9 am, understand they open at 7:30, only to be told the glasses were not there. I always had to call them, never once was a call returned as I was told it would be for over a week. So thank you for the horrible customer service Enterprise. I will move my monthly rental car business to Hertz. read more

Have rented a car twice in the last 6wks and both times I had to call because the fees they charged were not what was discussed at the time of the rental. Most of it revolved around insurance and proper communication. While I have been satisfied with previous rentals, these last two times have left me feeling less than a satisfied customer. I would suggest to all who rent here that they just double check their charges when they come thru. I rent cars fairly frequently for weekend trips, and after being treated very well on the first visit here (free upgrade), I had made this location my new go to, even though it's probably not the closest location for me. The second visit was a mixed at first. It took 30 minutes to get my car after my appointment. However to make up for it I was offered a discount which made me still overall happy. So two five star experiences however the most recent visit has made me rethink using this location again. Truly a one or two star experience. After booking an economy car, only an intermediate was available. They wanted to charge me for an intermediate. I said fine even though it wasn't right. Then on top of that there was a huge sales push to buy their insurance which many know is a not worth anything if you have a credit card that includes rental insurance with travel protection. From past experience I remember checking with my CC and knowing I am covered. When I said this the person at the counter disputed that it doesn't always cover the car. She asked about what my own auto insurance covered and said if I didn't have appropriate coverage the CC insurance wouldn't cover the full cost. What does my own auto insurance have to do with anything is what I was wondering!? However she convinced me that I needed the coverage so I reluctantly agreed. Later that day I checked with my CC company and confirmed that I had been sold useless insurance that already was covered by them. After calling enterprise HQ to see if I could get a refund they told me just tell them at the store when I return the vehicle and I would be refunded. Well I did that and they of course said it could not be refunded as the insurance was on the vehicle the whole time. Not sure if the salesperson was really thinking they were helping or not but I felt used and oversold. While I had two great experiences this last experience will make me rethink using this location or enterprise again. Update: Boosting the review after being contacted by enterprise. They refunded part of my original cost and offered a future upgrade. I'd recommend emailing enterprise to help them make things right if you feel dissatisfied with them. read more

We have rented vans for youth trips from them for several years. After our last experience we are definitely changing companies! They we extremely unorganized and if I had to grade them on communication, I would give them a F! For three weeks it was necessary for me to call them several times a week, to try to verify policy information I had been given. I was given different information each time about their policies for delivery and pick up. At one point, I was told that I would need to call them one hour before I wanted the vans delivered to "REMIND" them to deliver the vans. What...how about a little professionalism. I am NOT your mommy.The staff, including the managerial staff, seemed to change from week to week which only added to the frustration. In spite of the fact that the vehicles were reserved at least one month prior to the trip, (and my talking with someone at their office several times each week), they waited until the day before departure to inform us that we needed some papers on file. We will NOT be using Enterprise again for our rentals! read more

I rented a car for 2 days while my car was in the body shop & they said I selected the prepaid gas replenishment in the contract which I did not but he must have checked the box anyway. They also said I returned the car on empty which is impossible since I received the car at a 3/4 tank and I couldn't have driven more than 125 miles in those 2 days. It was a Hyundai Elantra which gets 32 city/40 hwy with a 14 gallon tank and my entire commute is hwy miles so you can do some basic math even using the city mileage as that's less than 4 gallons of gas and realize they're lying. That means I started with about 10 gallons and used 4 gallons so there should have been about 6 gallons left before I added to it. So just by the before and after mileage there's no way I could have returned the car on empty even if I hadn't put gas in. But I did put $13.66 worth of gas in at QT in Olathe which the charge is also on my CC statement and returned it with over the 3/4 tank I received but they charged me $21.16 in erroneous gas fees. I just noticed the charge on my credit card statement 20 days after the rental occurred and they say there's nothing they can do. This is a crime, the body shop has an arrangement with Enterprise and they both said all I had to do was leave the car at the body shop and Enterprise would pick it up later. DON'T do that!!! Make sure you're there when they pick it so you can make them note how much actual gas is in the car. I will NEVER rent from them again based on this experience. $20 isn't much but what they are doing is illegal and I hope that my credit card dispute does not pay them. read more
