I reserved a 1/2 ton pickup truck for a one-way trip from Maryland to Nebraska , through Enterprise at the Laurel South location. I booked it for May 14th at 12 PM with the intention of leaving the state that day -- a critical move with all my belongings. Despite having a confirmed reservation, the location failed to provide the vehicle. I called over 10 times, was left on hold for over 30 minutes multiple times, and had to escalate to corporate three different times just to avoid being charged late fees for not picking up a vehicle that was never available. Not once did anyone proactively update me. At one point, I was asked if I would accept an SUV instead. I said yes -- and then never heard back. No follow-up, no callback, no effort. Because of this, I've lost an entire day of travel, incurred additional lodging costs, and dealt with serious stress. This isn't just about a rental car -- this is about being lied to, ignored, and treated like my time didn't matter. Enterprise advertises reliability, but my experience was anything but. If you're counting on them for a critical trip or a life event, think twice, and try any other option. The customer service at the Laurel location on Route 1 is excellent. Moziah was very professional and genuinely concerned about my experience with the rental car. What really put the finishing touch on the experience was that, as we were entering the building, he greeted another customer by name. When that customer wasn't satisfied with the car he had, Moziah calmly offered several other options in different vehicle sizes. It seemed like the customer wasn't quite sure what he wanted, but Moziah remained patient and professional, worked through the options, and ultimately made the customer happy. read more

I had a relatively complicated need - a vehicle that would accommodate a HUGE 55" X 60" painting I had to pick-up in NYC on 4/28 to bring back to the DMV. I had already driven up (and back) to NYC in my Volvo station wagon, thinking that would work.... NOT! My wagon was way too small. So, to avoid a repeat of my first trip to NYC to pickup my painting, I started my search for the right vehicle several days before 4/28. I initially tried the Autopark location on Outlet Dr. in Silver Spring, armed with my tape measure, to locate a vehicle to pick up my painting in. The manager at the Outlet location was absolutely wonderful and sooo.... patient. He went above and beyond. He walked me around to all of the vehicles he hoped would work and helped me measure the openings to see what, if any, vehicle he had on hand would actually work. WOW! His customer service! His patience! Fabulous! Ultimately, nothing was large enough. He did NOT just apologize and send me on my way - he took me back to the office, pulled up larger vehicles in the system he guaranteed would work, AND made a reservation for me then and there (to preserve the excellent rate he found for me!!). He sent me on to this, the Laurel location. EVERYONE at the Laurel location was so helpful, so friendly, so accommodating. Just WONDERFUL! -- Tess and the whole staff! Thanks guys! (Including the female manager (? manager? I dk??). Although I had a confirmed reservation for an extra-large van, Tess, like the manager at Outlet, patiently helped me measure several other vehicles. I had concerns about driving the original extra large van... sooo... big... so tall... so long. When nothing else worked, Tess offered a smaller van that was expected to be returned the morning of 4/28. He promised he would hold that vehicle for me with the hope it would be returned in time for me to get on the road up to NYC. FINALLY! Something worked out! The smaller van was returned on time, Tess et al. saved it for me, and I was on my way to NYC in the more manageable van in time for my pickup appt! Yaaayy! My rental worked out perfectly! Everything from identifying the best vehicle to meet my needs, to driving up to NYC,getting my larger than expected painting into the van, driving back to the DMV, and turning in the van the early morning on 4/29... EVERYTHING worked so very smoothly! And all because of the great Enterprise customer service, time, and attention I received at the Laurel and Outlet location staffs. Thank you, thank you, thank you! BE VERY CAREFUL RENTING FROM THIS DUMP. Upon coming inside. Your not greeted or anything. Even though the employees are staring right at you. After getting to the counter instead of having CLASS the employees use the words "boss" or "man" here to greet you when you get to THE COUNTER. The overall place is clean. There is sanitizer available and the air ventilation wasn't bad. During the paperwork process. At this location unlike other locations. You have to provide where you work. Three personal references and other very very personal information other than basic driver information. I've never experienced that before. Used the location in Jessup and never had a issue nor did I have to provide a ton of personal information. This location is low class or something. I don't know if the employees are on high alert or something here from previous customers. But to shakedown your current customers for a ton of personal information is truly ridiculous and then with the employees looking like they're about to laugh while asking is adding insult to injury. During the rental. All warning msgs on the car kept popping up like The car is out of washer fluid and the batteries in the remotes are dying every time you turn the car on. Both would've took an employee like five mins so the customer which is me would've had a good experience without drama. But at this location. I guess they're just running the cars to hell and back. A couple of days in the rental. I'm getting constant calls saying we gotta charge your card again. Turned into a weekly ordeal. Instead of other locations where they bill you at the end of the rental. Here you CAN'T HAVE A BALANCE. At the end of the rental. I had almost six different charges on my card all from different days. My bank actually declined two of them because it looked suspicious the same place charging multiple times usually after midnight too. The car itself wasn't bad "Chevy Equinox SUV" besides the warning lights and whoever had the rental before me must've drove it to hell or used it for moving a trailer or something. To get up hills you almost had to put the gas to the floor. This truly shows lack of maintenance. Since there was a vehicle shortage. I didn't even bother asking for a different rental and just dealt with the issues and said to myself. Never coming back to this location if I decide to rent from enterprise again. Lastly. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICTURES AND "4K" VIDEO as soon as you get out of the car when returning. I don't know if the employees here are committing insurance fraud to increase their profits or something. But a "mysterious" CHALK line of DIRT appeared on the car after a employee walked passed it. SEE PICS. It shows the car before and after. They tried to say " it's a scratch going down the entire right side" Even though It came out when I licked my finger and ran it thru the line. I said scratches don't wipe out. DIRT DOES. At that point I truly had enough and I said one word which ended it all "Litigation". They gave up their nonsense after that point and all was well. SKIP THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LOVE DRAMA. The employees are somewhat friendly. Definitely not professional nor social though. But they're trying to rip off consumers. The overall noise level was normal for a office environment. *My review has been hidden on google* My mom and I were serviced by Miles on June 10th, 2024. We talked to another location in the morning and we were redirected to the one on Baltimore ave. When we got there said Miles couldn't find my mother's name/number as her number had changed and it was not the same in the system anymore (she was not aware). We called the original enterprise location and the person told us the phone number on file and we brought it to Miles he made it "clear" to tell my mum it wasn't the same like she is stupid and she apologized saying she knows (as she was just told this by the other enterprise). During the rest of the service it was clear he was disinterested in our service. I don't think he knows but I heard him mispronounce my name in a "funny" way and chuckle on the phone. I am assuming he thought it was my mother's name. I am aware I have an ethnic name but there is a level of respect you give people. Towards the payment part my mom repeated a statement he said in question form for clarification he repeated it like she couldn't understand english in a slow and condescending manner. Lips moving slow and everything. When we got the car my mom was talking TO ME and told me to check the ODO and gas. He was leaving and he thought she was speaking to him and she told him she was telling me because it was my first time renting a car. He then chuckled like he was irritated?? BEWARE!!! Do not rent from Enterprise at the Laurel MD location. I reserved a premium 7 passenger VW SUV and they offered me dirty dodge caravan. I left with the van and noticed the air pressure light came on. I went back a couple of hours after picking it up because I was traveling long distance the next day. I called before I went back. A Rep came out to the van w/a man looked at tires told me it I hit something I'd have to pay. I asked the guy with her if he was the mechanic and he said no so I'm thinking well who are you and why are you looking at the car- he did appear to work for enterprise. Oh and the guy I spoke with before I went back said if I get a flat I'd be charged. Anyway the Rep and the man went back in and said nothing to me. Oh you have to wait outside. They say 2 ppl at a time and they have to get your temp before they let you in, but they never come to take your temp so everyone is waiting outside. Anyway, I had to leave and couldn't wait any longer. It was late all the rental car places were closed. I secured another vehicle at avis the next morning. Before taking the car back I had the tires checked one of the tires was 20lbs low in air and another was slightly low. We aired up the tire and the light went off. When I went turn it in the Rep checked all around and then the mileage, then he checked around again and the got in the van and closed the door - it was really weird. He then got out and checked the von number. Then he said I'll be right back I need to verify the vin number - he was working from an iPad. My husband and I said WHAT..youre going to verify the vin number? The vin is on the engine and on the door..ot didn't make sense. He went inside and was standing at the door talking to someone so we decided to go open the door to see what was going on. He said I was just making sure everything was okay. It was a crazy experience a and we tent a lot of cars. Whats crazier is a woman had driven up in another dodge caravan and they had taken it around to the back. She heard us talking and asked what's going on. She told me she was bringing her car back for the same thing tire pressure light She brought it back the same day too. I couldn't believe it! I also think this enterprise rents to ppl without a major credit card (which no was unaware of) and scams them and their insurance company. Enterprise in general is the worst company on Earth. I'd suggest staying away use Getaround or Turo.com they're far more ethical. At their North Laurel branch I rented a car for almost three months but when I returned the car I was in they tried to charge my card again, without my consent, even while I told them not to because I had to move money from the savings account to the checking account. They did not listen to me and the card failed every time and they told me they're system would not take it anymore. I returned their vehicle July 25, 2017 and noticed several charges on my checking account the next Thursday July 27, 2017. I had been treated very poorly at the Clarksville branch so I left the car and did not stay quickly went to go and pick my car up from the body shop. I called in to the South Laurel branch who's management also treated me very poorly regarding this (even though they got over $1500 of my money). I paid out about $2600 to different Enterprise branch locations for rentals since April including South Laurel. And just today I spoke with someone named Harshit and said he was the regional vice president (?) who was even worse. He was suggesting I owe them even more than what they already charged me. However, I feel like I have been treated as more a nuisance than a loyal customer. If charging people out of nowhere with no evidence of damages, receipt or even a phone call is how they treat their on-time paying customers I'd hate to see what happens to people who are actually bad customers. This dealership is amazing. I came into this establishment around noon on a snowy Thursday in search of a vehicle that would be reliable while my jeep was in the shop. As soon as I entered I was greeted with a welcome from the whole staff that I rarely experience at most places. Now being the only customer I would expect to just deal with one agent but in this case each employee was attentive and more than willing to help one another help me get the best service possible. They truly made this usually dreadful process enjoyable. My plan was to just rent a basic compact car but quickly I upgraded to a larger vehicle with 4x4 capabilities. The price that they gave me was amazing for the vehicle that I was receiving. They made it so I got the best deal possible. Now the final step was just getting into the vehicle and since it was snowing pretty good I offered to clean off the car. Again to my surprise the staff stepped up with no hesitation. Two of them went outside to clear the snow off of the truck and bring it up front to me. This office staff is really one of a kind and is the true meaning of a team. I spoke to an employee who said his name was Ryan. First, he spoke to me over the phone in a very unprofessional way--instead of saying "sir" or "mister", he used "man" or "dude". Second, despite giving him my first name (which is Clifford), he placed the reservation under the name "Anita". When I arrived at the location, I and others had to wait outside while the employees were inside and didn't seem to want to come outside to help. I saw customers walk away. Finally some guy came out and asked for my drivers license. I gave it to him and he went back inside. Some time later Ryan comes outside with my license on his hand, approaches me, and says he doesn't know why the other guy gave him my license. I stood there looking at Ryan in amazement--maybe he gave you my license so that you can help me get the car I reserved. Long story short---I left and went to U-Haul to get a truck. It's my first time renting a car. My car is in the shop and I'm supposed to go on vacation. I called and spoke to a team member since I had never done it before so they could walk me through the process. That was fairly simple. She took my address to check and make sure I was within the 10 mile pick-up radius, which I was. She told me they would call at 1:00pm to confirm my pick-up. This was around 11:00am. I get the confirmation call at 12:55 and thought, "Great, let's get this going." A man answers the phone and says that they cannot pick me up because they do not service Beltsville and he can give me the number for the Beltsville enterprise and I can make a reservation there. I asked him why my reservation was booked if I was not in an area that they serviced and he gave me a very apathetic, "I don't know" so I asked if the Beltsville location would be able to pick me up at the same time and he gave me the same answer. Unacceptable. So I pull up google maps and lo and behold I am 2.2 miles away from the Laurel location. It is the closest enterprise to my home. Not a great 1st time experience. Poor customer service. No solution offered other than to go somewhere else. Added stress to an already stressful week without my vehicle. On top of all that, I ended up having to pay more for a different vehicle type at the Beltsville location for them to pick me up an hour later. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise for over 20 years. This location is "A-OK." I don't like that reps often try to push me off to another office location. And I hate the arkwardness of other customers never having the proper paperwork to rent, it's always a big discussion at the counter. I'm sure they call prior to renting; are requirements being communicated clearly? My cars have always been great, I recieve great customer service; no problems ever. It's always fun to joke around with the staff. They are always very courteous and pleasant. If I could give this location 0 stars, I would have. My Hyundai is in the shop and I was told that I would have to pay a $50 deposit in order to get a rental car. While waiting for Enterprise to pick me up, I realize that another lady has been waiting to get picked up as well. Enterprise NEVER showed!!!! Hyundai then proceeds to drive us to this location. Disappointment after disappointment. The first car they attempted to put me in smelled like cigarettes. The young man had the audacity to tell me that he did not smell it but would put me in a different car if I did not want it. I watched him check people in and out, while the new car I was getting "was getting cleaned out." When in all actuality the car was still sitting in the same spot in the parking lot. We complained and he said the next car that came out I would get. LIE AGAIN a Nissan Altima came out and I did not get that car. I complained AGAIN!! Now its been over an hour, with me now being late for work. The young man did not assist with putting me in the new car ( that has cigarette burns in the seat might I add). He passed the keys off to the next gentleman. It is ridiculous how many scratches this car has!!!! it shouldn't even be able to be rented at this point. There is a crack in the windshield and dents as well. Now remember I was told the deposit was $50. The lady that came in with me from Hyundai was charged $50. How do I know? I was standing right there when it was told to her. The lady that helped me did not once tell me that she charged my card $100!!!!!!!! I went to get food for my child and my card declined low and behold it was then I found out that she took $100!!!! With me waiting for an hour plus. I did not raise my voice I did not ask for corporate's number. It is not until I gave enterprise a call back and she proceeded to tell me that the policy is $100. When I told her the other lady paid $50 she put me on a brief hold and told me that the only way I can get my money back is when I return the car!!! I then lost allllll my marbles, how is that when you all made the mistake. My car will not be fixed for weeks, I'm not settling for that. She then says "oh well if you just bring the car back now, we will return your money." When I threatened to call corporate and asked for both of their names miraculously she returned my money.. I have had a few problems this entire year with my rentals, but this one top it, the car smelled cigarette, the engine was not up to date so my plan to go to the beach was tossed out of the window, every so often the car give a burn smell, what made this time be a 3 stars is their willingness to listen to my comments, even know that when I was explaining to them about the engine and they keept telling me that was a 4 cylinders and wasn't power they stopped after I explained that I drive a F-150 and a Scion I knew the difference and that I also had seen them test driving that vehicle while I was walking towards the store, si the only thing they need to do was to send that car to a mechanic before it broke down on someone that need to be somewhere in an emergency read more

This was my first time renting at this particular location. The staff was professional and the business atmosphere was clean. However, I didn't like the fact that they didn't have a cleaning bay for the vehicle. The presentation of the vehicle that I rented could have been better. It was not wiped down and the rims were dirty. All the money spent on renting vehicles, they should be cleaned inside and out. They were going to give me another vehicle but i needed the space. Furthermore, they did give me a 10% discount. Sometimes, its best to stick to certain locations. I have no complaints, I rent from this location each time I come back to Maryland and need a rental. The staff is always friendly and professional. To me, they go above and beyond (thinking about the last time I rented from them, the weather was terrible but they made every effort to get me back to my destination). One time they reserved, for me, a car with a hi-top (look like it would topple over in a good wind). I explained to them I was going to be "driving on the highway" and the weatherman was predicting high winds. They worked hard to calm my fears by finding a more suitable car at no additional cost. I was picking up a car that my insurance company was going to pay for as my car was in an accident. Enterprise put me in a Chrysler 200 with over 60,000 miles, no manual (car controls are not intuitive) and, it turns out a key fob with a dead battery. Tires on the car need replacement. When the rental agent got in the car with me, he said I should buy the extra insurance which "is $50 a day, but we have a deal with Progessive insurance and can lower that to $20." I said, "you've got to be kidding me...I have insurance for rental car." He said, "don't get hostile!" Then, that evening, I get a call from a Enterprise used car salesman. He says he was referred to me by the Enterprise rental office where I got my rental. "I understand you're in the market for a car," he says. I tell him that I don't know if my car will be repaired or not. I also tell him that Enterprise put me in a car with over 60,000 miles and tires that are wonky. Why would I buy a used car from Enterprise? He says, "all of our cars have between 6000 and 40,000 miles and are in great condition. I laughed and asked if he was not listening to me. Later that night I get an email form the same used car Enterprise guy asking if I wanted to buy a car. Terrible location!!!!!!!! Short update...opened the center console to put my GPS system in in and it had garbage in it. Also, driver's side windshield wiper blade was bad (it rained and I paid for it). Car also shimmied over 60 mph and needed a new driver's side front tire. My insurance company (Progressive) has a contract with Enterprise that says no one insured with Progessive is to be put in a vehicle with over 35,000 miles. My rental had over 66,000. read more

Enterprise in Laurel, MD off of Rt. 1 and next to Contee rd. was extremely helpful. The service was quick and easy and I was able to enjoy my rental for the weekend I had it. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because my first rental got a flat tire on the first day of renting it and I had to do a little scrambling to obtain a second vehicle. However, even then I was graciously accommodated with a better vehicle that night with no hassle on bringing the damaged car back to the Laurel location first. Terrible experience! I've rented from Enterprise before, but this was my first time using this location. I made my reservation a day in advance and requested a pick-up at the shop where my own car was getting work done. Everything was confirmed and ready to go, and I was set up for an 8:30am pick-up at the shop. Around 8:45 no one had arrived yet, so I called to check the status. They didn't have a record of my request for a pick-up, nor could they even track down who I made the reservation with to get to the bottom of the problem. They told me it would be another 1/2 hour wait. The associate picked me up in a car that wreaked of smoke. I could have sworn it was her personal vehicle that she smokes in every day. At the office, they told me I'd be driving the car that was used for my pick-up. I asked them if they had anything else, because that one smells like smoke. (I was shocked that this was actually a rental car and not a personal vehicle!) They looked at me like I had ten heads. I asked the associate who picked me up if she noticed that the car smelled like smoke. With a blank stare, she then launched into an argument about how they can't always tell who smokes in a car, so they can't charge them the $100 detailing fee. I said I didn't ask about a fee. I asked if you smelled smoke in the car. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. Nice. I asked AGAIN if they had anything else available, and they said they would check. 30 minutes later, I still had no response from them about anything else being available. I walked back up to the counter, and it was like they had no idea what I was going to ask. Of course, I was following up on the status of another option. They said they were waiting to hear from the shop. Well that would have been nice to know 25-30 minutes ago! Turns out there was another car sitting out front the whole time that was totally available. They gave me that one immediately. All they did was volunteer to waive the gas fee. No apology for any of the delays, confusion, etc. I missed a conference call because this ordeal took so long. Thanks, Enterprise, for getting my day off to such a miserable start. I had wonderful service both at pick up and drop off of my car even thought both times the office was very busy. Will rent here again.

My experience at this enterprise location has been my worst yet! I've only rented cars from enterprise for years. I chose this location because it was the closest to my home. I will never use them again! I scheduled a pick up from Sunday at 12pm, I was picked up a 1pm. Not to mention they close at 2pm on Sundays. I arrived at 1:15pm, waited to be seen for another 20mins. Only to be told that my fiancé could not rent the car for me. I then had to get a ride back home to get my card for the rental. The driver mention that they close at 2pm. I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it back before 2pm. I then rescheduled my rental for Monday at 12pm. On Monday I was picked after 1pm as well. This time I was told that I could not use the card I was going to use. I had to get a ride back home again. I didn't bother to ask for a ride back. I took a uber back. I got back at 2:45. The manager then told me the car I was renting was gone. He offered a van or pickup. Or I could wait for 30/45mins for a car to be washed. I ended up waiting another almost to hrs to get a car. Then the car I was "waiting to be washed" was totally dirty inside and out. Still had receipts , trash, and syrup stains, dirt, smudges all over the interior of the car. I was really pissed, but I did not go back. When I returned the car I mentioned the dirty car to the manager. He told me it was cleaned before I got it. I then showed him pictures from the day I rented the car. He apologized and gave me a 10% coupon for my next rental. I feel 10% was nothing, considering all I've been through at this location. I should've had a free rental. I will NEVER go back to this location. Not sure if I will ever use enterprise AGAIN! read more

I would recommend this location to others. When I arrived my vehicle was ready. The staff was nice and professional.
