My husband and I met Barb at a wedding expo in 2015 (we were married in November 2015). After just…read morea few minutes of chatting with her, we immediately knew we wanted to connect with her to plan our honeymoon. So we did -- she planned our amazing honeymoon to Punta Cana in 2015, and we've been hooked ever since! Fast forward to 2020, Barb has planned several unforgettable trips for us over the years, including trip to Ireland and Scotland, a Mediterranean cruise and Rome/Athens adventure, and the most incredible trip of all - a South African safari in June 2019. Not only is she knowledgeable, attentive and honest, she's funny and incredibly easy to talk to. She makes the trip planning process fun and stress-free from start to finish. No matter our budget, she's flexible and patient and works with us to find a trip that is both affordable and suits our needs (and "wants"). She takes the time to fine-tune every little detail in our itinerary, offering helpful advice and tips along the way. We had a trip to Iceland and London planned for June 2020, but obviously needed to reschedule due to the COVID-19 crisis. Despite the stress she must be experiencing working in the travel industry at these unprecedented times, Barb remains her usual friendly, patient self and was helpful in communicating our options for rescheduling and using travel credits toward a future trip. Not only did she go over each option in detail, she talked through the pros and cons and addressed all of our questions with honesty and patience. What we love the most about working with Barb is that we never feel like we're just another client. From the first trip she planned for us to the most recent, it's always felt like she was planning a trip for her own family or friends. She's passionate about what she does, and she's committed to making each and every trip perfect and unforgettable. We can't imagine working with anyone else for our travel needs!

Our first camping trip of the year and we landed at Campground Island and we are so happy we did!…read moreVery beautiful campground and great amenities! We have two little kids and they loved the playground, outdoor ping pong table and outdoor movie night! They handed out free popcorn and even had a piñata the next day in celebration of cinco de mayo! The coffee and ice cream in the market were both delicious and the staff was very friendly. The rec room had great games and a craft center for the kids which was great since we did get a lot of rain on day 2. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back- the website gives a great rundown on themed weekends. Almost forgot one of the most important parts- the bathrooms were so clean and accommodating! Little things that you may have forgotten were stocked for you in the ladies bathroom.

Campground Island is a unique spot on an island in the Conewago Creek. Recently purchased and being…read morerevitalized by the new owners, I see this campground having lots of potential in the future. The staff were amazing and very friendly to interact with during our stay. You can tell they were taking pride in the changes being made to the campground. The common areas and community room were nicely renovated with large outdoor fire pits and seating. Pastries and coffee were available in the store on weekends and regular events throughout the summer were scheduled. As a new campground/ownership, there were a few quirks that we experienced. Check in is all online and when you arrive you go directly to your site. There is no office, vehicle registration, or tags for the sites. This has its positives and potential drawbacks with monitoring who all is accessing, driving, and parking in the campground. A nice mix of sites exist, with some being cramped in, others more spacious, and some with odd placement of hookups which were tricky. They do have buddy sites for people traveling another family/rv. One issue that we did experience was the changing of the type of site we had booked. Several months prior when booking we booked a full hookup site. It wasn't until we checked in did we find out that we were moved to a water/electric only site for our stay. This was a bit of an inconvenience and when we called we were informed that they had to move a monthly customer to the full hookup site and they didn't have a sewer run to our new site yet, but there was a dump station onsite (not the same as a full hookup site). Overall the location is very nice with the trees and creek surrounding the campground. As the owners continue to make upgrades and changes to the campground I do see it becoming a great destination!

What an AMAZING place to stay in Gettysburg! The Federal Pointe Inn has so much character and…read morehistory, and it fits the whole Gettysburg vibe perfectly. The building was originally a school, and I absolutely loved that they kept so much of that history and character intact. You can still see the old-school layout, but the rooms are beautiful, clean, comfortable, and so nicely done. In the pub/restaurant they have old class photos displayed from throughout the school's history, which was so cool to look at. It's one of those places where you actually want to walk around and take everything in. But what really made our stay stand out was the staff. Everyone was SO friendly and genuinely kind. Nikki at the front desk went above and beyond for us. We needed to be somewhere at a specific time and were really hoping to get into our room early so we could get ready. She was incredibly busy, but still took the time to help us and make sure we were taken care of. We appreciated her so much! The staff in the pub was just as wonderful -- friendly, engaging, and actually took the time to talk with us. Even the housekeeping staff went above and beyond and couldn't have been sweeter. The history, the atmosphere, the rooms, and especially the people made this such a memorable stay. If you're visiting Gettysburg and want to stay somewhere that actually FEELS like Gettysburg instead of just another hotel, this is the place. We absolutely loved it and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The decor was cool to say the least. Very of the period and historical. The negatives would be the air-conditioning in the room did not work very well. It was very warm in the room and we were not able to make it any cooler. We arrived on a Sunday and were told that the pub was closed. That was very disappointing as that was one of the primary reasons for choosing the hotel. One other thing that I noticed was the toilet was not properly bolted down and was actually rocking when you sat down on it. Not a horrible experience staying here but definitely not what was expected.
