I even paid more money to leave it at "the train station" But the manager drove me back to the train station, reimbursed me for my new tickets, and I believe partial from my first tickets that I purchased for the train. Long story short, the customer service was upheld in the end and they made it right. I even tried calling ahead multiple times to let them know, but nobody answered the phone. When I finally arrived, I was told they had given away my automatic car and only had manual vehicles available. Then, to make things worse, they said because I was late they would keep the full payment with absolutely no refund. So despite having a confirmed reservation, attempting to contact them, and arriving the same day, I was left without the vehicle I booked and out the money entirely. This feels like an extremely unfair and scummy business practice. Very disappointing customer service and I would not trust them again.

I also brought proof of my insurance…read more However, because we did not purchase the specific insurance through Budget, we inquired a charge of 40 Eur. Furthermore, we supplied the contract, which states that we owe nothing at the hire desk, nor anything suggesting this charge. The desk clerk concurred but continued to state we owe the fee. What good is a contract if it is not honored? Lastly, the company charges you 90 Eur up front for petrol. Once you return the car, you get refunded the money if the tank is full. This also makes zero sense. Essentially we are all loaning the company 90 Eur for them invest/use as see fit/etc. I have booked many cars in Ireland and never had this experience. I would not recommend or use again.
